Garden Room - Mae Sri draws praise for its delicious Thai fare, generous portions, and an ambience described as cozy, elegant, and garden like with a glass roof and greenery that makes it feel like a hidden oasis in the city. The menu impresses with authentic flavors and a variety of dishes beyond pad thai, including soups, curries, noodles, and seafood options, often paired with creative cocktails or mocktails; diners repeatedly note value for money and a visually striking setting perfect for dates or groups. Service is frequently highlighted as friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable with helpful recommendations, though several reviews report variability in attentiveness, slow pacing during busy times, and occasional missteps like incorrect orders, dietary mix ups, or uneven spice levels. A few guests mention language or communication concerns or inconsistent experiences between locations, but the overall impression emphasizes atmosphere, hospitality, and tasty, well prepared dishes. In sum, Garden Room - Mae Sri stands out for its aesthetics and flavors, with service and consistency that range from outstanding to mixed depending on the visit.
Perfect date spot, location is beautiful, service was excellent & the food was the best soup I've ever had. Amazing gluten free & celiac safe options as well. This place is amazing. The owner is very kind & has a clear passion for restaurants. Couldn't recommend more.
If you're looking for recommendations, the Baa Mee Moo soup was excellent.
A must-visit! We visit Montreal once a year, & we always make a reservation here to make sure we don't miss out. In fact, this year, we only had time for one meal, so we ensured we stop by here! Beautiful decor, amazing food, & the best people! The owner even stopped by to chat with us. See you soon!

Really lovely surprise during our stopover in Montreal. Delicious, authentic Thai food inside a beautiful, unassuming restaurant with friendly, professional servers. Great!
They took us in without a reservation because the timing was right. Definitely should get one. The food was delicious! The pad kra pao was spicy but not overpowering the flavour of the dish. The pad Thai was very good also. Tried Thai tea for the first time, will definitely order it again. The restaurant is beautiful inside & on the outside. The food pricing was reasonable.
The food was absolutely delicious & the overall vibe of the restaurant was really cozy & beautifully designed. The waitress Clayre was such a G, great service & great energy. Def coming back

Dear lord! Where do I begin…
Party of 4 for my birthday.
I just wanna start by saying the place is beautiful & cozy & very social media worthy. Needless to say, I had high expectations from the pictures & my love of Thai food.
Ambiance is ok. It could just use some music to make it a bit more lively.
Service was personable & welcoming. Although I think our general disappointment of the food & drinks ended up having a negative impact in the end unfortunately.
So here it is. The expression'Don't judge a book by its cover' applies here but not in the positive sense.
Everything looks great! But the taste is generally very mid. Not you'd expect from Thai food. & especially not at that price point. I expected elevated street food (which is generally less than 2$ per dish in Thailand) & what we got overcook, what seemed like 10x refried pork belly, noodle texture issues but the absolute worse was OFFENSIVELY SALTY dishes. One component specifically, the ground pork mixture, was shockingly inedible. So much so, that it made the dishes extremely difficult to enjoy. Other dishes were equally also overly salty even without that component in it. Even the drinks were salty!
Our very kind waitress offered replacements but at this point, we almost felt pranked.
The drinks were replaced by half full glasses of canned ginger ales at 5,25$ each…
We were hungry so we ate some but the whole experience was extremely frustrating.
I even felt the embarrassment from our server who didn't even come to bring us the bill or see us out, despite the fact no complaints were made & we were nothing but nice to her.
No compensations or complementary desserts were offered either.
Did I mention it was my birthday?
We all came home with stomach aches & I'm still completely dehydrated, waking up many times during the night to drink water.
As a big fan of the Mae Sri Milton location, I was very excited to try this new location & super impressed by my meal! The atmosphere is beautiful & Clayre was very welcoming & attentive, even while dealing with a busy Saturday night. The food was also great as always. Looking forward to coming back!

beautiful place with lovely food at affordable prices !! we were served wonderfully (Jeanne was our waitress) & she was so kind & sweet ! the food was yummy & unique, & the atmosphere was obviously out of the ordinary. it's a perfect place to meet up with friends or have a date. i will definitely be back !
Food was decent, but in my opinion noodles were a bit too soggy. I wanted to have the pad ka prow but couldn't justify the cost for the dish. The restaurant has a really beautiful interior. Service was lacking though. It was not packed, but we had to wait for a while to be served water & to be seen.
We're regulars at Mae Sri Comptoir - every time we visit Montreal, we make sure to eat there at least twice. This time, we happened to hear about a bigger branch of the same restaurant & decided to give it a try.
First impression? The space is beautiful. Much more open & spacious than the comptoir, & the menu has more variety, which got us excited to try new dishes. & the food did not disappoint, everything was delicious, & to be honest, I even felt like the flavors were slightly better than the other location.
However, the biggest red flag for us, & clearly for many others based on the reviews, was the customer service. I'm not sure if the Thai lady (possibly the owner?) was just having a rough day, but the attitude we got when we politely mentioned that we were just here for the food & wouldn't be ordering drinks really soured the experience. It wasn't just me, both of my friends felt the same discomfort.
So, 3 stars - & that's entirely for the food. Unfortunately, despite the upgraded space & even better flavors, we'll be sticking with our usual Mae Sri Comptoir where the service has always felt warm & welcoming. The Thai lady there is amazing.
Came by for lunch midweek--enjoyed it overall & would give a 4.5 if I could. There's a student lunch special that gets you two egg rolls, a main course, & a soda for $25. The egg rolls were fine, but nothing to write home about. The Thai style hainan fried chicken rice was very good--just wish it came with a large portion of that delicious chicken! Also decided to get the mango sticky rice & given that it's mango season, it was very solid. Food was all beautifully presented.
The restaurant is very pretty & must look even better at night with the skylight & table lighting.
Jeanne was my server & she was a rockstar. So friendly & accommodating. She also happened to be managing the host stand, but I never once felt unattended to or that I had to wait for something I needed. Super important for what can be lunch on a tight schedule
We had lunch for two here & the place, food, as well as staff was awesome. Our waiter Mounir was friendly & efficient & transparent regarding waiting time. The cocktails are not stingy with alcohol so it's worth the price. We particularly enjoyed the papaya salad.
Particularly recommended if you are in downtown Montreal - we went on a rainy day & seeing the raindrops through the see-through roof was beautiful.
Had such a lovely time here with my boyfriend! The service was warm & welcoming, the food was delicious, & the decor was beautiful. Can't wait to come back!
Celebrated our anniversary over the weekend. We had the Pad See Ew, I the beef & spouse the chicken, it was absolutely delicious! The flavors/textures were on par. Also, the service the moment you step into this beautiful cozy "garden", so welcoming by Tom, Simon & Anna. We will definitely go back & try something new on their amazing menu!
