5/5 Stars - Worth Every Kilometer of My Questionable Life Choices.
I drove 2 hours-yes, TWO full hours-just to eat at Haidilao, & honestly, if I had to walk barefoot through a snowstorm uphill both ways, I'd still do it.
This place isn't just a hotpot restaurant-it's a full-blown experience. I came for broth & meat, but stayed for the complimentary coded snacks, the apron they insisted I wear like I was about to perform surgery.
They treated me like royalty. I dropped a napkin & three staff members appeared out of nowhere like ninjas to replace it. I sneezed & someone offered me a warm towel & possibly a life coach.
The broth? Magical. The meats? Tender & majestic. The noodles? Danced in front of me like they were auditioning for So You Think You Can Stretch?
Would I ever go to another hotpot place? No. I'm loyal now, even if it's 2 hours away.
Go to Haidilao. But don't blame me when you find yourself planning your next road trip with a bib & a craving.View more

No words can explain how great my overall experience was.
Something I love about Haidilao is their consistency when it comes to quality of food & service, had a chance to eat in Haidilao Philippines & I can say that there is no difference at all!
I went to their Montreal branch last Saturday, & for someone who knows how long their wait time for walkin can take regardless of the time of the day I made sure to reserve a table.
We went there earlier than my booked reservation but they accomodated us, just needed to wait 30 mins before we were seated to our table.
From the time you enter their resto they will offer snacks, fruits, drinks, activities non-stop just to ensure that you will not get bored.
Upon being seated we were given the'essentials' - hairtie, wet wipes, glasses wipes & apron & asked to login to the tablet since I'm already a member. We were seated on a table at the 3rd floor, initially I thought service might have delays since kitchen was on the 1st floor BUT orders arrived less than 10mins!
What separates them among all other hotpot is how they let you customized your orders based on your preference, like I really love their Sichuan spicy soup but I always request for it to be less numbing & less spicy. They also have LOTS of varieties when it comes to their hotpot ingredients, majority of the balls are handmade & not the frozen hotpot balls that you can find on grocery stores. The quality of meat is exceptional, top choice will be beef as it really does melt in your mouth!!!
Though it has an additional price, their sauce bar is also worth it.
We tried the'popular secret code' regarding their soup but instead of a soup base we were given a bag full of snacks!!!
Another worth mentioning is their washroom, hotpot soup & sauce can leave strong smell so they have creams & even listerine available in all washrooom!
Hope to try mooooore Haidilao branches & continously be amazed with the quality of food & service they offer.View more

This has to be the best hotpot restaurant in Montreal, located in one of the most walkable street right in downtown St Catherine. The place is clean & classy & offers really great food at the right price. Service was great, it was fast & really attentive, thank you Fanta for explaining everything & being very welcoming! Food was really good from meat to vegetables all extremely fresh, lots of items available on the menu. There is also a sauce stand available for a small extra, all the sauces were presented very cleanly & freshly prepared. Fried pork was one of the favorite dishes, the spicy soup base is REALLY spicy so pick it only if you're prepared! Honestly highly recommended.View more

Fondue Haidilao in Montreal is absolutely amazing! The flavors are authentic & truly remind me of the taste of my hometown. The hotpot broth is rich & flavorful, the ingredients are fresh, & the service is exceptional. The only downside is that the restaurant is a bit narrow, but it doesn't take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic hotpot!View more

The food was very good, interesting flavours. Cool concept where you can choose 4 different flavours of soup base for the hotpot & then choose the meats, noodles, vegetables etc you want to cook in the hotpot. The waiters were all very helpful, courteous & very accommodating.Overall, great experience once you understand how the menu works. I loved that they thought of every little details to make the experience great for their customers like the little hair tie they give to clients so that their hair doesn't get in the way while they're cooking & eating. Overall great Hotpot experience! The moment you walk in, you are greeted by a hostesse who will assign you a srat based on the number of your party. Each seat has a pull up storage where you can put your belongings while you enjoy the food. The sauce making & fruit section is self-served which allows your creativity to kick in to make the dipping sauce you like. The ingredients (meat & vegetables) were fresh & served in a timely manner. You should expect $50+ per person on a normal day. After 9pm, the meat price drops significantly so you can take advantage of hotpot at a more reasonable price. This restaurant is very clean & the servers are very attentive to your needs. Washroom is also equipped with extra items such as hand cream, mouth wash & floss.View more

Tried a delicious Chinese hotpot recently! The broth was flavorful, especially the spicy tallow beef & even tom yum. The ingredients were fresh - tender, seafood, sides ordered were nice,. I loved customizing my dipping sauce with chili oil & sesame paste. The staff were attentive, & the cozy ambiance made it even better. Perfect for a fun meal with friends or datenight ! I came here for my friend's birthday because I was told it was a great place to celebrate birthdays. I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly & helpful, especially Michelle. To start, we had to choose the broth for our hotpot. I liked the fact that there were many options for vegetarians, for people who don't eat spicy or for people who don't eat pork. They have a huge selection of meat & mushrooms or tofu. The quality was amazing. The noodle dance was very impressive. I also loved that I didn't come out smelling like hotpot, which is amazing!View more

This is my first visit of Haidilao in Canada & was definitely an excellent experience. Exceptional service (big shoutout to my server Jennie), all food was served within 10 mins & they all are being so attentive, refilled my water/drink a few times & got everything I would need for a hotpot even rubber band for my hair! About the food, just the broth itself contains all ingredients that were being mentioned in the menu, such as the pork belly & chicken, & the taste is so good!!!! We also enjoyed the super professional performance of noodle pulling!!! Too bad that they don't have a store in my city, but I would definitely come again during my next time visit to Montreal!!!!View more

Food is very good here. You can basically get anything for a good price. If you like hotpot then you should definitely take a visit here. The service was perfect especially, the service we got from Rui & July. Very nice personnel with a good sense of humor. Definitely would come back.View more

the service is impeccable & outstanding, very fitting for a restaurant chain such as haidilao. they offer you free snacks & drinks at the entrance in the line & are careful to take care of water refills & cooking up your shrimp paste for you. they are very attentive to your needs & give you a whole tour of the amenities the place has to offer if it's your first time. obviously as one would expect, the food is quite pricey & though i didn't find it to be any different from other hotpot places, i really enjoyed my visit & would say it's worth it if you decide to go once in a while. there's more affordable asian hotpot restaurants in montreal but this one is great for special occasions!View more

Notre serveuse, Chloe, était tout simplement la meilleure serveuse que j'ai eu de ma vie, j'ai jamais eu un service aussi parfait! Elle était gentille, 200% à l'écoute & en plus elle était drôle! Elle mérite grandement une augmentation & une promotion! Si j'en avait eu les moyens, je lui aurait donner un meilleur pourboire!! While the atmosphere is really nice, it felt a bit cramped which may be normal considering how popular & crowded it is. I have to put a 4* for the food due to the price to food ratio. While i had no complaints about the food, the fact that you pay for what you eat (not all you can eat), i would expect the quality to be above a AYCE hotpot. I did not really notice any difference between the meat here & at another AYCE hotpot. Having the option to split the hotpot in 4 different broths is really nice. Another thing is that it can be hard to gauge what is the quantity we get for the food selected. I spent around 80$ to be decently full. No complaints about the service, it was impeccable.View more
