EXCEPTIONAL! you truly forget you're in the middle of Montreal.
It's not our first visit, but every time we come, we discover something new.
Today, we arrived without a reservation & were warmly welcomed by Rui. We waited in the fantastic waiting room filled with games, snacks, & more! Rui also took the time to clearly explain all the features of the restaurant we were curious about & was incredibly sweet. The service was impressively fast, we got our table in under 30 minutes, even though there were a lot of people waiting.
The waitresses who served us, Lily (& Koko on another day), were both really nice & welcoming. There was also another lovely waitress whose name we sadly didn't catch but she gave us dessert))
The broths & passion fruit juices are amazing, & the wagyu was definitely worth trying.
It's clear that the creator of this restaurant chain truly loves what he's doing. I wish all restaurants were like this every small detail is thought through, even down to providing hair ties. All the snacks are specially made for the restaurant. Honestly, the level of effort & passion here is incredible.View more
5/5 Stars - Worth Every Kilometer of My Questionable Life Choices.
I drove 2 hours-yes, TWO full hours-just to eat at Haidilao, & honestly, if I had to walk barefoot through a snowstorm uphill both ways, I'd still do it.
This place isn't just a hotpot restaurant-it's a full-blown experience. I came for broth & meat, but stayed for the complimentary coded snacks, the apron they insisted I wear like I was about to perform surgery.
They treated me like royalty. I dropped a napkin & three staff members appeared out of nowhere like ninjas to replace it. I sneezed & someone offered me a warm towel & possibly a life coach.
The broth? Magical. The meats? Tender & majestic. The noodles? Danced in front of me like they were auditioning for So You Think You Can Stretch?
Would I ever go to another hotpot place? No. I'm loyal now, even if it's 2 hours away.
Go to Haidilao. But don't blame me when you find yourself planning your next road trip with a bib & a craving.View more
First time at a hotpot restaurant, lots of fun, good energy, & the broths were delicious. Our waiter Oliver was excellent, kind, helpful & friendly. He really helped us navigate our first hotpot experience. We will returnView more
The food is great, the service is awesome & the ambiance is joyful. You have a wide range of ingredients, broths & sauces to choose up & customize to your liking. The staff are very friendly & helpful. You can also bring back the broth after to make more hot pot at home. They also have amazing lunch & late night deals. You definitely always want to come back for more.View more
The beat hotpot in Montreal. Fantastic service, fab food choices & delicious broths.View more
Fondue Haidilao in Montreal is absolutely amazing! The flavors are authentic & truly remind me of the taste of my hometown. The hotpot broth is rich & flavorful, the ingredients are fresh, & the service is exceptional. The only downside is that the restaurant is a bit narrow, but it doesn't take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic hotpot!View more
Staff is friendly & polite. Easy to order on a tablet. I prefer the sukiyaki broth. Toilets are clean on 2nd floor & accessible by elevator.View more
Tried a delicious Chinese hotpot recently! The broth was flavorful, especially the spicy tallow beef & even tom yum. The ingredients were fresh - tender, seafood, sides ordered were nice,. I loved customizing my dipping sauce with chili oil & sesame paste. The staff were attentive, & the cozy ambiance made it even better. Perfect for a fun meal with friends or datenight ! Received a cute goodie bag at the end which was the highlight !View more
Service was good throughout the meal. The pork bone broth we chose was delicious. The signature marinated beef was a bit of a miss for us. Didn't taste like much. For anyone who's planning on going, please review carefully your receipts before paying as there could be mistakes or extra charges for nothing. After coming back home, we looked at our receipt carefully & realized they had charged us for the sauce "bar" although we did not ask for it nor did we take any. We were a party of 4 so we basically paid a total of 16$ + tx for sauces we didn't even use. I guess it was our fault partly for not reviewing carefully the receipt at the restaurant. Also, one of the managers (I think he was a manager) gave us his words that he would be giving us a 12% discount if we managed to finish our meal within 90 minutes. Which we did... but we ended up having only a 6% discount. I don't know if they were just honest mistakes from their part or if it was deliberately done...but hopefully its the former! So pls be careful before paying!! We learned our lesson & not sure we want to come back agin because of this...View more
This was probably the best meal I had in Montreal. This hot pot restaurant is one of the most fancy (as well as most pricey) hot pot restaurant I had ever been to. Everything was top notch even the fancy bathroom & the little things they think about. At the table, there are racks that you can place your food on so that your table is not over crowded. They have special performance on the handpull noodle. There is an ipad at each table for you to order food. The staff was very attentive. There is a sauce bar that has variety of different sauces & some dessert options. You can order 2 different types of broth or 4 & the price is the same. As mentioned, this is already expensive to start out. The price for the broth alone is the most expensive I have ever seen in hot pot restaurants. It tastes good thoughView more
Apart from being a bit pricey, there's nothing to complain about. The broth isn't too salty, taste with (little or) no artificial additives. The ingredients are fresh, & the kids always get fun toys. However, the portion of hand-pulled noodles has noticeably decreased.View more
I came here for my friend's birthday because I was told it was a great place to celebrate birthdays. I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly & helpful, especially Michelle. To start, we had to choose the broth for our hotpot. I liked the fact that there were many options for vegetarians, for people who don't eat spicy or for people who don't eat pork. They have a huge selection of meat & mushrooms or tofu. The quality was amazing. The noodle dance was very impressive. I also loved that I didn't come out smelling like hotpot, which is amazing!View more
Convenient location to downtown Montreal within walking distance from our hotel. We didn't have a reservation so we were added to an e-list & got a text. The wait wasn't bad for two maybe 30 mins. so we walked on Saint Catherine for a few minutes. Its a la carte menu plus a charge if you take from the sauce bar & you have the option of choosing up to 4 broths even! Plus you get a 20% discount if you leave within 90 minutes! With just the two of us it wasn't hard to do although I was surprised that the menu items took some time to come out. The service was great; very responsive & constant checking of water supply which I really appreciate because I drink a lot of water. I wanted to also try the one in Flushing so at least I could try it in Montreal first.View more
This place is very expensive to be honest My first advice, dont go alone or else you will easely have a 100$+ tab 1-It is better to go in group so you can share & taste more of what they have to offer & end up with a reasonable tab. I would say 3 or more, but 4 is better. 2- If you chose the spicy broth, normal is plenty to numb your tongue, dont try to be the tough guy & ask for extra spicy, you wont enjoy it at all & end up with a hole in your stomach ! The place clean & decor is nice. They even have a little show with Asian dancer. Food is good & they have a good selection. All in all it was a good experience but it was expensive. So be prepare.View more
This is my first visit of Haidilao in Canada & was definitely an excellent experience. Exceptional service (big shoutout to my server Jennie), all food was served within 10 mins & they all are being so attentive, refilled my water/drink a few times & got everything I would need for a hotpot even rubber band for my hair! About the food, just the broth itself contains all ingredients that were being mentioned in the menu, such as the pork belly & chicken, & the taste is so good!!!! We also enjoyed the super professional performance of noodle pulling!!! Too bad that they don't have a store in my city, but I would definitely come again during my next time visit to Montreal!!!!View more
The newly opened Haidilao is incredibly bright & spacious, & the weekday discounts are fantastic! The self-serve condiment station is well-stocked, & the fruits are super sweet. There are plenty of dishes to choose from, & I was especially impressed by the Fu bag, green pepper beef tongue, & black fish slices. The spicy broth is also very authentic & highly recommended! As always, Haidilao's service is impeccable. Our waitress, Yolanda, in particular, was very enthusiastic & attentive to details. She was proactive in following up on our orders & made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend asking for her service next time you visit!View more
We had an amazing experience at Haidilao! Our waitress Joy was awesome: she explained in detail each broth on the menu, helped us with the shrimp paste & checked up on us very frequently. Excellent service & tasty food! My favourite hotpot restaurant in Montreal😍View more
We came for lunch during F1 weekend as a group of 8. We spent around $40-50 per person. Definitely order the noodle dance once, it's the highlight! Our waitress Swan went above & beyond! She patiently explained the sauce bar, menu, helped top up & clear the foam from the broth, control the heat, & ran down to the 1st floor for ice cream to bring up to the 3rd floor. Loved the experience, I recommend!View more
We recently visited Fondue Haidilao in Montreal during our trip from Boston, & we were absolutely delighted. Having tried Haidilao in Shanghai, we were thrilled to find the same high-quality experience here, especially since Boston doesn't have a Haidilao. The food quality was exceptional, with a wide variety of options including beef, lamb, & their famous noodles. Watching a person make noodles in front of us, using them to dance, was an amazing & entertaining experience. Special thanks & high compliments to our server, Yeung. He is one of the best servers our family has ever met. Yeung was incredibly friendly, cheerful, patient, & caring. He provided aprons for everyone, & even gave hair bands to my wife & daughter who have long hair. Knowing we were travelers, he gave us a map & recommended some tourist spots. Yeung was always responsive & prioritized customer service. For example, when my child was trying to get something on the table, Yung took another route to deliver food so as not to disturb him. We observed him serving other customers with the same high energy & passion. He was attentive, constantly refilling our water & broth without us having to ask. The super high-quality service we received at Fondue Haidilao made our visit truly memorable. We will definitely come back again!View more
Great deal with the package for two! Only half price of the last time I paid, & we were pretty full. Tried oat broth & spicy fish broth this time both were delicious!! My memory resurfaced! the same palatable flavour the same excellent service 🥹View more
We love the franchise from Asia, so we decided to give it a chance here. We highly recommend reserving your table in advance since the wait time can be 1-2 hours, which is normal & similar to Asia. The service is good, with very professional & fast staff. While the food is on the expensive side, we understand it can't be compared to Asia, but the portion sizes were a bit small for the price point. The quality of the food is good, but it seems to be frozen rather than fresh. It's important to note that this is not an all-you-can-eat hot pot, so you have to order the broth & your dishes separately, & they also charge for the sauce station. Despite this, the noodles dance was a fun experience.View more
Hands down best hot pot in Montreal! It is a very unique experience coming here. You can make your own sauce, the broths are delicious, the restaurant is clean & well organized. Staff is courteous. Make sure to order the noodles!View more
While the atmosphere is really nice, it felt a bit cramped which may be normal considering how popular & crowded it is. I have to put a 4* for the food due to the price to food ratio. While i had no complaints about the food, the fact that you pay for what you eat (not all you can eat), i would expect the quality to be above a AYCE hotpot. I did not really notice any difference between the meat here & at another AYCE hotpot. Having the option to split the hotpot in 4 different broths is really nice. Another thing is that it can be hard to gauge what is the quantity we get for the food selected. I spent around 80$ to be decently full. No complaints about the service, it was impeccable.View more
Fondue Haidilao Montreal is genuinely great & yes, easily one of the very best hot pot places in Montreal. The place is new, clean, service is superb, the sourcing of the ingredients is great & the broths are well prepared. I hope they do well & thrive in Montreal as they deserve that (they work so well). Haidilao is classy but relaxed, which is my preference.View more
Good quality, service very good but can be a bit overbearing because it's too attentive, if you get what I mean. Meat quality is generally excellent. Menu could have more options in terms of hotpot items. We don't like the sesame dipping sauce; it's more like peanut dipping sauce & lacks the correct flavor. They have a 12 percent discount for finishing in 90 minutes & 20 percent for 60. Eat fast & request the bill in advance if you want the biggest discount as they can take some time to bring the bill, which can put you over. Overall, a well thought out & quality dining experience. A bit expensive for what it is but you're paying for the experience & location. Do note they charge for everything: sauce, 2x for Split broth, etc. That's why this is a 4 onstead of 5 star review. We go regularly.View more
Overall a nice night, experience. The masked dancer is a nice touch. He did the noodle show... talented indeed! The atmosphere was great but the food was ok. Not too pricy for everything we ordered. Start your broth right away, because it can take up to 20 or 25 minutes to be ready for boiling what you ordered.View more
Haidilao is the best Chinese restaurant & Fondue in town. It lifts the Chinese foods & services standard in Montreal. I have been to Haidilao in China, which is a very popular chain fondue there. I am very happy that Haidilao brings their authentic tastes here, the foods are very fresh, services are amazing, bathroom is clean, even provides Listerine, toothpick & etc. The notable waitress DADA is amazing, she knows the menu well, she suggests us to try the broth & meats out of our routine, & explains exactly timing to be cooked. We followed her advices, the results are out of expectation. She made our first experience so memorable. DADA is also very energetic, not only a good waitress, she is also a good singer for the birthday songs, her energy engages people singing with her that creates happy atmosphere for the restaurant. According to DADA, she is a big fan of Haidilao while she lived in China, I highly recommend to request for her services if you would like to have exceptional experience in Haidilao. She will take care of you for no doubt.View more
