had an amazing dinner at Haidilao this past Sunday night with some friends, & I can't recommend it enough. From start to finish, the customer service was outstanding. We were lucky to have Ghali as our server, & he truly made the experience exceptional.
Ghali was incredibly helpful, attentive, & kind he gave us great recommendations (everything he suggested was absolutely delicious), made sure we had everything we needed at all times, & even informed us about the available discounts. He answered all our questions with a smile & made us feel genuinely welcomed & cared for throughout the meal.
As for the food absolutely delicious, Fresh ingredients, rich flavors, & so many options to choose from & the sauce bar a huge necesity to anyone planning a visiste there.
A big thank you to the team for such a wonderful evening. I'll definitely be coming back soon.View more

This has to be the best hotpot restaurant in Montreal, located in one of the most walkable street right in downtown St Catherine. The place is clean & classy & offers really great food at the right price. Service was great, it was fast & really attentive, thank you Fanta for explaining everything & being very welcoming! Food was really good from meat to vegetables all extremely fresh, lots of items available on the menu. There is also a sauce stand available for a small extra, all the sauces were presented very cleanly & freshly prepared. Fried pork was one of the favorite dishes, the spicy soup base is REALLY spicy so pick it only if you're prepared! Honestly highly recommended.View more

Overall great Hotpot experience! The moment you walk in, you are greeted by a hostesse who will assign you a srat based on the number of your party. Each seat has a pull up storage where you can put your belongings while you enjoy the food. The sauce making & fruit section is self-served which allows your creativity to kick in to make the dipping sauce you like. The ingredients (meat & vegetables) were fresh & served in a timely manner. You should expect $50+ per person on a normal day. After 9pm, the meat price drops significantly so you can take advantage of hotpot at a more reasonable price. This restaurant is very clean & the servers are very attentive to your needs. Washroom is also equipped with extra items such as hand cream, mouth wash & floss.View more

Tried a delicious Chinese hotpot recently! The broth was flavorful, especially the spicy tallow beef & even tom yum. The ingredients were fresh - tender, seafood, sides ordered were nice,. I loved customizing my dipping sauce with chili oil & sesame paste. The staff were attentive, & the cozy ambiance made it even better. Perfect for a fun meal with friends or datenight ! Apart from being a bit pricey, there's nothing to complain about. The broth isn't too salty, taste with （little or) no artificial additives. The ingredients are fresh, & the kids always get fun toys. However, the portion of hand-pulled noodles has noticeably decreased.View more

We love the franchise from Asia, so we decided to give it a chance here. We highly recommend reserving your table in advance since the wait time can be 1-2 hours, which is normal & similar to Asia. The service is good, with very professional & fast staff. While the food is on the expensive side, we understand it can't be compared to Asia, but the portion sizes were a bit small for the price point. The quality of the food is good, but it seems to be frozen rather than fresh. It's important to note that this is not an all-you-can-eat hot pot, so you have to order the broth & your dishes separately, & they also charge for the sauce station. First of all, I want to express our gratitude for Jen's excellent service, which provided us with a wonderful experience. Moreover, Jen really resembles Liu Tao, to the point where we're still not even sure if she is Liu Tao herself. The hotpot at Hai Di Lao is absolutely fantastic, especially the Oat Milk soup base, which is exceptionally unique. The food is also very fresh with a wide selection available. While it is a bit pricier compared to other self-service options, the overall experience is outstanding. We will definitely visit again.View more

Haidilao is the best Chinese restaurant & Fondue in town. It lifts the Chinese foods & services standard in Montreal. I have been to Haidilao in China, which is a very popular chain fondue there. I am very happy that Haidilao brings their authentic tastes here, the foods are very fresh, services are amazing, bathroom is clean, even provides Listerine, toothpick & etc. The notable waitress DADA is amazing, she knows the menu well, she suggests us to try the broth & meats out of our routine, & explains exactly timing to be cooked. We followed her advices, the results are out of expectation. She made our first experience so memorable. DADA is also very energetic, not only a good waitress, she is also a good singer for the birthday songs, her energy engages people singing with her that creates happy atmosphere for the restaurant. According to DADA, she is a big fan of Haidilao while she lived in China, I highly recommend to request for her services if you would like to have exceptional experience in Haidilao. Disappointed. We were two & spent about 170$ for dinner. The food is fresh & good. But the service was not expected to be the same as the other Hidilao's. The server just poured water for the entire meal time. After I paid the bill, she took a look at the receipt, then left. Not even say thanks, may be because I just gave 15% tips.View more

The food is extremely expensive, & we ate but could have eaten more had we ordered more. The vibe was nice, but not at the same level than in China. This is because some waiters they hired are clearly annoyed, or it's because they do not understand the service standard of Haidilao in China, I don't blame them though. & the guys who come & bring us food don't say anything/are expressionless. Talking about food, while we did enjoy what we had ordered. The shrimps are not fresh. The vegetable portions are way too small. So that's a bit disappointing. Talking about vibe, Haidilao tried hard to mimic the hotpot scene in China. Some waitresses did perform dances for other parties - such as for birthday or kemusan, so that's nice. However there is not too much singing. & the dining space is a bit cramped, there is not much space to walk around without hitting someone: understandable since it's in a downtown location, but it's pretty annoying for clients, also for their staff. Lastly, the place is way too hot: it's a combination of heating, long rectangular dining area, too many people in such a cramped space, all tables emitting water vapor at the same time, as well as lack of air circulation. So it's not very comfortable sitting down. Just my observations. I still love Haidilao, prob won't come back to his one, but will still go to the ones back home. Thanks.View more
