I went here with my friends for brunch & we had a good time. The food was good. Lots of sea food options but limited in other areas. We ordered several dishes. It was a bit greasy but I liked the taste. The drinks were great!
Serve was very nice & friendly. The staff greeted us, led us to our seats & kept checking on us.
I took a picture of our food & shared it below.
After our meal it took a while to get the bill so that wait was a bit annoying.
(UPDATE: January 2026)
Foiegwa used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but unfortunately the drop in quality has become increasingly noticeable.
I went to Foiegwa several times in 2025 & had consistently good experiences. The space is charming & beautiful, & the service is usually above average (& yes, the staff is undeniably good-looking - keep that part going).
In early January, I went for brunch & was surprised by what seemed like a reduced portion. My eggs benedict arrived with only one egg on the bread. I pointed this out to the server, since the menu clearly says'eggs,' not'egg,' & everyone else at the table received two. An extra poached egg was brought to me - which I appreciated - but the situation still left me uncomfortable.
For dessert, I ordered pancakes, which were burnt in my opinion. I've attached a photo so you can judge for yourselves.
A few days later, I came back for dinner &, unfortunately, didn't know that the late-night menu previously offered at $25.99 was no longer available. The food itself was good, but after these two experiences, I no longer feel that the value for money is as strong as it used to be.
(PREVIOUS REVIEW)
Excellent food, portion size, environment & staff. There's no'bad choice' in their menu, everything seems to be delicious, I've been there 4 times & every single experience I had was good.
The brunch at Foie Gras was a real disappointment. I found it very average, with low-quality ingredients & flavors that were simply not there. The taste was lacking overall & did not meet expectations for a brunch experience.
On the positive side, their pasta dishes & the burger are actually quite decent & much better than the brunch. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to make up for how underwhelming the brunch was.
Great food, beautiful ambiance & friendly staff. Price is very good for brunch & very delicious dishes!
My husband & I stumbled upon Foiegwa while researching breakfast places in Montreal, & we're so glad we decided to give it a try. We arrived around 10:00 AM on a Sunday, & the restaurant was about half full, with a relaxed & welcoming atmosphere.
After looking through the menu, my husband ordered the smoked duck Benedict, while I chose'Le Foiegwa Slam', paired with a freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
Let me tell you, the pancake was spectacular. Perfectly fluffy, rich in flavor, & absolutely delicious. It was hands down one of the best pancakes I've had in a long time. The entire plate was well-balanced. My husband also really enjoyed his smoked duck Benedict, which was flavorful & well executed.
Honestly, this meal alone felt worth the visit to Montreal. We'll definitely be coming back & highly recommend it to anyone looking for a breakfast or brunch experience.
I love this spot for brunch on weekend
Their secret menu is amazing.
Not too much of wait time. Service is great. I would definitely try everytime i am in Montreal

I've heard about Foiegwa since forever & finally tried it for the Mtrl a table event.
First of all, the service was so warm & friendly. Professional while not pretentious. I felt we were really a regular at a neighbourhood restaurant even though it was our first time here.
Food was delicious. Fair portions. Well balanced in flavours except for the pasta which was a bit salty.
Atmosphere was casual & cozy. Great for a date night.
Would definitely come back again. We kinda fell in love with that spot. Wish brunch took reservations!
I'm honestly really disappointed with my brunch experience at Foiegwa today. My fiancé & I came here back in the summer of 2023 & had such an incredible meal that it stuck with us for years.
For my birthday brunch this November (2025), I decided to order the same thing - the chicken & waffles - but what came out was a totally different experience. The chicken was dry, overcooked, & served in small nugget-like pieces instead of the full, juicy portions they used to make. The waffles were also dry & lifeless, missing the balance & flavor that made the original dish special. For $25, it really felt like a downgrade. Thankfully, I added potatoes on the side - they ended up being the best part of the meal.
Photos attached: 2023 vs 2025 - the difference speaks for itself.
I'm giving 3 stars because not every dish here is bad (I've tried both brunch & dinner), but seeing how much this signature plate has changed makes me realize it's not worth the hype anymore. I really hope the kitchen revisits what once made their food great.
A bit overhyped & overpriced. The food was just okay, nothing spectacular (mind you, its breakfast/brunch so I didn't have masaive expectations). The prices are high for what you get.
I had the unpleasant experience of asking for extra ham on my dish, I was told by the waiter that it was a substantial portion of ham which is why they couldn't simply replace the sausage in my dish with a portion of ham. When the plate got to me, there were two thin slices of ham, each cut in half. So really, this was one thin slice of a ham. I asked the waiter if he had forgotten the extra, he checked with the kitchen & said'no, this is it'. This extra portion (slice) was 4$.
It feels like a dishonest approach to extras, nothing worse than going to brunch & feeling that you're getting squeezed for money despite the hard costs of the meal being low (potatoes, bread, eggs & meat, no veggies). See the photos & judge if this would have been worth upwards of 30$ for you.
Fun place for brunch! The place is surprisingly small, but was curious to try after always see line-up for brunch on weekends. Wait can be long if the group is more than 2, & for brunch, it's first come first serve, no reservation. Seating inside is cozy & can be noisy. Once seated, service was great & food came out very fast. I tried their Foiegwa Slam & it was delish, but wish it included coffee. 😁 Overall, great experience, would go back & now curious to try their dinner menu. It's right across from Marché Atwater so good for a nice walk there after a good brunch!
Had the pasta for brunch. Was good but taste of truffle was very light! Will come back to try their supper menu. Service was good as well!
Tout est 10/10
L'ambiance
Le staff
& la nourriture juste excellente
On a adoré du début à la fin
Le menu a 49 vaut vraiment la peine
On reviendra pour tester le Brunch
Bravo !!!!
Absolutely love this spot for date night but it was my first time coming for brunch & definitely won't be the last! The blt was so tasty & the lavender matcha was PERFECT!
Très bon brunch ! Endroit sympas, vintage.
My wife & I went for brunch. Food was amazing, but really long waiting time. Maybe a waitlist app could benefit both parties.
