The server forgot about our table completely multiple times as well as forgetting multiple items we ordered. She brought us incorrect items & acted annoyed when we asked for what we ordered. We had to keep flagging her down so we could order our drinks, food, etc, etc. We were told we had a limit of 2 hours at our table. That was no problem, but it took almost 45 minutes just to get our drinks (two bottled beers). The table next to us arrived 15 minutes after us & got their drinks & food before us. The whole meal went this way. The manager was in the back of the restaurant the entire time, despite his servers clearly needing help. The restaurant wasn't busy, but the servers were not prepared/well trained at all. We were stressed the entire time because of the time limit & the fact that everything took forever. It felt more like I was at work, instead of having a relaxed night out. Even though the food was good, we won't be returning. Eating out is expensive & not worth it when the server ignores you or acts like you are putting them out by being there.
The fantastic team at Escondite DDO always take such great care of us. We enjoyed a savory meal with delightful flavors!!! We spent a lot because we drank shots (6x), Beers (7x) , Skinny & Spicy Margaritas (2x) as well!!
Sam really cares about all clients & we have NEVER, EVER been disappointed after 20 + times eating there!

Wonderful place ! Food is very good & Juan is the best even when he is alone. The guacamole with chips was very good.
Came here looking for a fun spot with a great vibe & Escondite totally delivered.

Si vous recherchez une cuisine mexicaine authentique ce n'est peut-être pas exactement ça, mais c'est original & très bien!!
Lovely experience from start to finish. The team was incredibly kind & attentive, & it was great to see the owner so involved. You can really feel the care behind the place.
Juan was wonderful. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel genuinely welcomed with his warm & attentive approach. His suggestions were spot-on, & the service was impressively quick-from exquisite appetizers to beautifully prepared meals.
The quality of the food was nothing short of sensational. Combined with a great ambiance & excellent service throughout, it made for a memorable experience.

Beautiful interior, excellent margaritas (aperol marg was particularly fantastic), & the food was so fresh, high quality, & delicious. Relaxed service but everyone was nice & helpful. Highly recommend the steak tacos!!

Last night i was extremely disappointed with my order. I ordered nachos & it was served with no tortilla chips but 5 dumplings with Mexican toppings. When i asked the waitress what was the reasoning for this she advised this restaurant is Asian fusion with Mexican. No where on the menu did it mention this or anywhere in the restaurant. Husband ordered 3 dips then when they were delivered to the table was advised if you want tortilla chips to go with the dip this will also cost extra. Not impressed & will needless to say will not be visiting this restaurant again.
Last note we had a 6 pm reservation & i called ahead to say we were running late at 5.30pm & if i could change our reservation to 6.15pm. Was advised sorry we only take reservations for every half hour therefore we could only have 6.30pm. No problem however when we arrived there were only 2 tables occupied, restaurant nearly empty. Again not impressed with the customer service. This was unnecessary. Totally understand if they were busy however no I know why the restaurant had barely any customers inside.
Good meal with my two young kids. The staff were friendly & the food excellent. Many different flavours & textures, which I love. This includes some creative interpretation of nachos & tacos which made it fun. Adult portions are on the smaller side, so if you're hungry, probably order two sets of two tacos (you can't mix & match). My only (very minor) complaint is that the dishes came very quickly, before we could even put a dent in the appetizers. Probably worth asking them to hold the mains until you're done if that's how you like to eat. Definitely recommend!
Escondite has become one of my all time favourite restaurants. I've tried almost every location & I have to say the West Island is the best! The service is always 10/10 like a few days ago I came to eat dinner with my friends & were served by Olivia, she was quick, attentive & frequently checked on us to make sure we had whatever we needed. Also not to mention a total sweetheart! It makes me sad that they're not as busy as they should be because the food & drinks are incredible! Come eat here & get a Margarita Medianoche, share a guac then grab the Esteak Koreano tacos, I promise you won't regret it!!
Escondite is so consistently fresh, delicious, & full of bold flavours! My friend & I are both from California & crave Cali-Mex & Escondite always hits! We always get the guac, trio of salsas, & their perfect chips. Some faves are their ribs (sweet, spicy, sticky, & fall off the bone), shrimp tacos, Baja tacos, & cilantro smash cocktails.
Very nice place, food was excellent, friendly staff. We were well taken care of.
