I showed up at 4:50pm. Door was open so I walked in to a very cold reception. I had reserved for 5pm & was rudely told the restaurant was closed & to wait outside. They should lock the door if they don't want people walking in. That, or they could have been courteous enough to let me sit inside quietly until they opened 10 minutes later. I was not impressed. The deliciious made up for the lack of good customer service.

10/10 for food quality, accountability, & outstanding customer care!

My husband & I are huge taco lovers, & our first visit here delivered incredible food & drinks. Unfortunately, despite disclosing a nut/peanut allergy, an accidental mix-up occurred with a sauce containing peanuts, leading to an allergic reaction & a hospital visit.

What truly sets this restaurant apart is how seriously & professionally they handled the aftermath. The server & management stayed in close contact to check on us, took full accountability, & invited us back on the house.

When we returned this past weekend, the experience was flawless. The staff were exceptionally attentive to our allergy, & the kitchen had even modified recipes to remove high-risk allergens. The food was top-notch, & when we tried to leave a generous tip for the wonderful service, the staff respectfully declined it. Severe allergies are terrifying, but the team's genuine care, transparency, & operational changes earned our complete trust. We will definitely be back! Worth the visit!

Best service in Quebec. They clearly love working with each other & that's reflected in their hospitality. Tacos & drinks are very good (room for improvement) but the service & hospitality is unbeatable. Big recommend!

Suite à la réponse de Daniela, j'ajuste mon avis, car la prise en charge a été très bien faite & très respectueuse. Je vais y retourner car la nourriture est toujours excellente & l'ambiance est habituellement vraiment festive & sympathique. // Message original : Service absent qui faisait des shots de tequila au bar, pendant qu'on attendait nos drinks & ensuite nos factures. Cette dernière visite était très bordélique. J'ai toujours aimé ce restaurant, c'était ma quatrième ou cinquième fois, mais j'ai été très déçu.

Absolute highlight of my week in Montreal!
I ended up coming back to Escondite 3 times during my one-week trip because the food & atmosphere were just that good.
Every menu was great & especially the Baja 2.0 fish tacos are incredible-perfectly crispy & packed with flavour!! ★★★★★
Don't forget the Ensalada de Mangos as well! super refreshing, must-try!!
On top of the delicious food, every single member of the staff was unbelievably warm, friendly, & welcoming. They even surprised us with a complimentary dessert to finish off our meal!
If you are looking for amazing Mexican food & great vibes in Montreal, this place will never let you down. Highly recommended!

Ambiance sympathique & bonne cuisine. J'ai mangé un ceviche de saumon parfumé & ensuite des tortillas au boeuf. Les deux plats étaient délicieux. Le service par une équipe sympathique.
