Visiting from England. Stumbled across this place. Found the food to be extremely tasty & fresh. Particular highlights were the ribs, gyoza nachos & guacamole. Shrimp tacos also deserve a mention. Friendly service & a most enjoyable evening.
Très belle expérience au Escondite! Suis allée pour souper avec une amie & notre serveuse fut à la hauteur! Bon accueil, belle ambiance, pas trop bruyant. Le tacos à l'agneau fut divin, je le recommande! Que dire de la guacamole, ouff! Somptueuse! Merci!
Yona was amazing! His service was friendly & helpful. This was our first time here & he gave us a nice run down of the menu as well as some recommendations. The good is spectacular. We had baja & chicken tacos, guacamole, & churros. The churros were outstanding. You must order them!
My family had such a wonderful dinner experience here. We tried a mix of four different tacos, & every one of them was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the mango salad, along with the chips & guacamole, which were all fresh & flavourful. To finish off the meal, we had the churros with Nutella - such a perfect dessert! Our server, Yona, was incredibly friendly, attentive, & on top of everything throughout the evening. We'll definitely be back & would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
We had a great experience at Escandite Union. Tried a mix of tacos including the al pastor, chicken, shrimp, plus the Baja 2.0 & a mushroom taco…everything was on point. Flavors were fresh, well-balanced, & clearly made with care.
We also had guacamole with chips, cornbread, & a couple of margaritas…no complaints across the board. Everything came out quickly & tasted great.
What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Friendly, attentive staff who made the whole experience easy & enjoyable.

Had cheese & shrimps tacos, shared tortillas with guac & some churros. Really not impressed by the food. There was no cheese on the tacos, the guacamole lacked flavor & churros were a bit raw in the middle.

On nous vend une formule dégustation'8 plats' sans même annoncer clairement le prix, en promettant une expérience exceptionnelle. En réalité, ce sont de minuscules portions à partager à plusieurs, dont certaines n'ont même rien de mexicain (poulet frit très basique qu'on retrouve dans n'importe quelle brasserie).
Pour le reste : quelques tacos, un peu de guacamole, une mini-salade, des churros à l'unité… & c'est tout. Résultat : 60$ chacun & toujours faim en sortant. Clairement abusif. À ce prix-là, on s'attend à vivre une vraie expérience culinaire, pas à goûter à de simples échantillons.
Une expérience exécrable, je vous conseille fortement de faire demi-tour surtout que Montréal regorge d'excellents restaurants mais celui-ci n'en fait clairement pas partie & n'est absolument pas à la hauteur de sa réputation.
Our new favourite Mexican restaurant! We went for dinner last night for the first time. Everything was terrific - the décor, lovely menu, delicious guacamole, cauliflower tacos, cornbread (!!) & the service! Thank you SO much for a wonderful experience all around. We can't wait to go back.
Guacamole, Fuego margarita, birria tacos, churros & key lime pie. All were fantastic. Service was great, they didn't rush us. Decor was very good too, as well as prices for the quality. Hoping to return soon.
