Escondite est loué pour ses saveurs audacieuses et ses ingrédients frais, avec un menu à partager qui comprend la salade de mangue, le pain de maïs, le poulet à la General Chapo, des quesadillas, des tacos variés et des churros; les réservations sont recommandées les week-ends ou lors des soirées les plus fréquentées, et l'ambiance est dynamique et accueillante, adaptée aux groupes et aux célébrations; le service est souvent attentif et compétent, bien que certaines visites signalent une cadence plus lente, des commandes mélangées ou un personnel débordé; la nourriture est décrite comme de haute qualité avec de bonnes portions pour partager, mais quelques clients estiment que les prix sont élevés par rapport à la taille des portions, et l'espace peut être bruyant.
Food was really good we ended up there for a kids birthday party & the kids eat free on Sunday which was a welcomed treat & they all loved the food as much as the adults. Service was excellent & the food is a Mexican fusion which was full of flavor. We had the ceviche & the tuna delicious. We finished with three varieties of tacos the birria (lamb) was unique & delicious the steak tacos were great. We will definitely be back without the kids this time as their cocktails looked amazing.
The food is excellent; great portion sizes for sharing! It's a very cool place, although it is a bit loud. Definitely my go to Mexican place in the West Island

Last night i was extremely disappointed with my order. I ordered nachos & it was served with no tortilla chips but 5 dumplings with Mexican toppings. When i asked the waitress what was the reasoning for this she advised this restaurant is Asian fusion with Mexican. No where on the menu did it mention this or anywhere in the restaurant. Husband ordered 3 dips then when they were delivered to the table was advised if you want tortilla chips to go with the dip this will also cost extra. Not impressed & will needless to say will not be visiting this restaurant again.
Last note we had a 6 pm reservation & i called ahead to say we were running late at 5.30pm & if i could change our reservation to 6.15pm. Was advised sorry we only take reservations for every half hour therefore we could only have 6.30pm. No problem however when we arrived there were only 2 tables occupied, restaurant nearly empty. Again not impressed with the customer service. This was unnecessary. Totally understand if they were busy however no I know why the restaurant had barely any customers inside.
Truly the most authentic Mexican food with a twist on the West Island! The tacos Birria are the best we've ever had, & the mushroom quesadilla is phenomenal! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Escondite to anyone!!!
The food was tasty but nothing to call home about. Portions are good but the tacos had just a bit of garnish ( 4-5 onion little cubes & a couple of pieces of coriander).
We were charged for the salsa!!! No other mexican restaurant has ever charged for!!
The Margaritas ate great!
There was no coffee & even though it was not full the service was slow.
Not a place I'll go back to nor recommend.
Finally we have a good restaurant with a good taste atmosphere & delicious Mexican cuisine in the West Island, that we can enjoy with friends & family. Besides the food, the staff is friendly & welcoming.
Margaritas is a must with appetizers & to end the dinner, a Key lime delicacy for dessert.
Tacos are the perfect size & the texture of the tortilla almost to perfection.
I don't know how much I spend per person because we were invited by our friends.
The atmosphere, service & food are superb. Where it falls short is on portion size to price ratio. If they charged 2-3$ but got 3 tacos per plate instead of two, it would probably make a difference. Kids portion is not sufficient beyond 8 years old. It is the best Mexican restaurant in the area but value needs to be addressed.

Cuisine: I loved the authentic Mexican signature Drinks perfect mixing Guacamole was excellent The decoration was very carefully made authentic. It is a very cosy & warm place The service was exceptional & personal I felt welcomed & at home
Great Mexican food, it's full of flavor & the service is really fast. The atmosphere is great, there's a band that plays at night & the employees are really nice & pleasant. Food is worth the price, portions are good. The place is filled with art & decorations that gives a good vibe & the music played is mostly Spanish so it makes the vibe even better. Lots & lots of free parking & it's wheelchair accessible. The food is really good & the ingredients they use are fresh. Each meal is full of colors & it tastes wonderful. Overall great experience & I will come back.
Nice menu with atypical items that were very good. Service was good & they were very friendly. The giant mural of the Mexican "Last Supper" is brilliant!
