Le Escondite Cerveceria de Barrio est un restaurant mexicain situé au centre-ville de Montréal, à quelques pas du Quartier des Spectacles. On y sert de savoureuses spécialités mexicaines et des cocktails Tequila maison.
Escondite ressort comme une adresse mexicaine très appréciée pour son ambiance chaleureuse, son décor et son service attentif, avec des tacos variés (agneau, birria, al Pastor, baja fish) et de bons cocktails; les portions et les prix varient selon les plats, certains clients trouvant les portions petites ou les prix élevés pour la quantité, mais la plupart louent la fraîcheur et les saveurs ainsi que le menu découverte et le service multilingue. Des temporisations existent parfois: service lent, heure de fermeture plus tôt que prévu ou notes négatives sur quelques plats; toutefois l expérience globale est très positive et donne envie de revenir.
Nous avons dégusté l'Expérience Escondite pour le dîner hier & c'était vraiment agréable de pouvoir essayer les différents plats offerts. Les Gyoza Nachos & les tacos à l'agneau mariné ont été parmi nos coups de coeur. Eric nous a offert un super service & s'est assuré d'équilibrer les plats végé & viandes pour plaire à tout le monde.
Je dirais que ma seule critique est que certains plats manquaient un peu de goût, notamment les quesadillas qui étaient un peu fades.
Au niveau des boissons, la limonade aux fraises est définitivement à essayer. & pour finir, l'ambiance du restaurant est vraiment chaleureuse!

We had the pork, lamb, shrimp & fried chicken tacos. We love the lamb best with little spice. We also had the Gyazo Nacho (they are Gyazo but with Guacamole on it) & pork ribs. All the seasonings are perfect!! The person serving us was top notch, it was our first time there, the person recommended the portion which was very helpful! They even try to replicate a drink they don't have on the menu!
Excellent food & service. The food was top notch. We had the gyoza nachos-tbh-the best nachos I have ever had. The service also was fantastic. Friendly, quick & very hospitable! First restaurant we hit in Montreal. Thanks for the experience!!

The quality has gone down
Most items are now flavorless & bland, wings no longer taste of tamarin & are barely sauced. El chapo has no sauce, it just tastes like costco chicken, mango salad has no spice. Nachos 2.0 is gone. Not sure i'll be ordering again
Escondite was amazing! 10/10 would definitely recommend! I am from NYC & we have some great restaurants & this place was better than a lot of places back home. Services was amazing atmosphere & vibe was like a restaurant in soho. The dish that stood out to me the most was the tuna tostada. The flavors were extremely well balanced, unlike any other tuna dish I've ever had. I probably could have had 3 of those & been happy. We tried almost every single taco on the menu & nothing was bad, The nachos were also amazing. My favorite was the Birria & the Pollo Hermonos. Cocktails extremely well balanced! The waitress told us we picked all the best tacos ha! Will definitely be visiting this establishment again next time I am in town!! Thank you so much

We just LOVED the food. It was so good. The gyoza nacho is a must try. Cornbread was warm & cozy. The vegan taco maybe ok but the cod & chicken more than make up for it in terms of flavor. We really enjoyed the service. They were cordial & very pleasant.
Great first experience for my friend & I! We took the gyoza nachos, the tuna tostada, the pollo hermanos, plus churros & key lime for dessert; everything was amazing but special mention for the gyoza nachos!! Delicious!! Our waitress Shana was so cool, helpful & kind, she definitely made this experience even more amazing, thank youuu Shana! We'll be back soon ✨
Amazing place. Innovative & welcoming & flexible. Everything we requested we got. We were blown away. The drinks were perfectly balanced (& we take our margaritas very seriously & rarely like a restaurant margarita in Canada). We had Catherine our server commend the bartender! All the food was fantastic especially the cauliflower general tao, the dumpling nachos were tasty & fun, the cauliflower tacos & the fried chicken tacos were amazing. Best of all was Catherine. Her attention to detail, positive & fun attitude, all while she was juggling many tables, ability to explain everything & keep water & drinks flowing, all without lingering & managing many other tables, was brilliant. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant to the moment we left, we felt welcomed, cared for, & appreciated. It was a fantastic experience all the way around.
