Nowhere else I'd rather go for tacos & margartias while in Montreal. My office is just up the street, so whether it's popping in for a quick lunch bite with a cheeky margarita or coming here with a big group of friends, the food, culture, vibes & staff are so lovely!! Yona, the bartender, even gave me a complimentary tequila shot because i had to go back to work! Highly recommend.

We had a great experience at Escandite Union. Tried a mix of tacos including the al pastor, chicken, shrimp, plus the Baja 2.0 & a mushroom taco…everything was on point. Flavors were fresh, well-balanced, & clearly made with care.
We also had guacamole with chips, cornbread, & a couple of margaritas…no complaints across the board. Everything came out quickly & tasted great.
What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Friendly, attentive staff who made the whole experience easy & enjoyable.
Good eats, great service…definitely worth a stop if you're in Montreal.
We were looking for tasty Mexican & came across Escondite. We reviewed the menu before going & couldn't wait to go. Seating was quick & easy when we got there. The atmosphere was perfect for a nice quiet dinner. The manager, Yona, was accommodating, attentive & helpful. Recommendations were offered when asked, but not pushed on us. We had the Ensalada de Mangos, E'steak Koreano & Nepal, & the Tacos Birria, & two Patron Margaritas. Our meal was excellent. I would highly recommend Escondite Union to anyone visiting downtown Montréal. Thanks for a great meal.
Guacamole, Fuego margarita, birria tacos, churros & key lime pie. All were fantastic. Service was great, they didn't rush us. Decor was very good too, as well as prices for the quality. Hoping to return soon.

I'd give this place 6⭐? if I could.
It was packed at lunch today. I sat at the bar as I was solo. I had a margarita & fish & steak tacos. Damn so good & tasty. Wish I could have had a couple more. I'll be back soon.
Whenever we come to Montreal we make sure to stop here for lunch. Yona & his staff are so welcoming, they always make us feel right at home, & the tacos & margaritas are fantastic.
A hidden gem in Montreal! From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the small, beautifully decorated space & the wonderful atmosphere. The music, a nostalgic mix of boleros, brought back cherished memories of my grandmother. The service, led by our attentive host & restaurant manager Jona, was impeccable & every detail was carefully considered. We ordered the tasting menu, & the food was simply spectacular-each bite was a treat! The margarita was the best I've had in years, delicately prepared & perfectly balanced. Our experience there culminated in a warm conversation with Jona, whose passion for the place was infectious. Honestly, if you're in Montreal & love Mexican fusion food, you have to go here. It's more than a meal; it's a memory. We'll definitely be back!

To start with, the drinks were phenomenal - Darlene is a master bartender & our specialty margaritas were so well balanced & tasty - truly some of the best margaritas we've ever had. Then we decided to be adventurous & try the tasting menu as the price was unbeatable. Every single course was delicious & we were so full but the food kept on coming. Really the perfect meal! We will be back next time we are in Montreal!
Le meilleur restaurant Mexicain à Montréal! Les tacos sont super bons & les margaritas sont imbattables. Le staff est sympathique & attentionné. Il vaut mieux réserver si vous êtes plus que deux!

Amazing place. Innovative & welcoming & flexible. Everything we requested we got. We were blown away. The drinks were perfectly balanced (& we take our margaritas very seriously & rarely like a restaurant margarita in Canada). We had Catherine our server commend the bartender! All the food was fantastic especially the cauliflower general tao, the dumpling nachos were tasty & fun, the cauliflower tacos & the fried chicken tacos were amazing. Best of all was Catherine. Her attention to detail, positive & fun attitude, all while she was juggling many tables, ability to explain everything & keep water & drinks flowing, all without lingering & managing many other tables, was brilliant. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant to the moment we left, we felt welcomed, cared for, & appreciated. It was a fantastic experience all the way around.
On a pris une table pour 10 hier soir , on a reçu un très bon accueil, Vicky était à l'écoute avec un service exceptionnel & souriante. Un bel endroit pour manger en gang. A refaire ! Menu dégustation & margarita aux fruits de la passion Miam!
