Le Escondite Cerveceria de Barrio est un restaurant mexicain situé au centre-ville de Montréal, à quelques pas du Quartier des Spectacles. On y sert de savoureuses spécialités mexicaines et des cocktails Tequila maison.
Escondite ressort comme une adresse mexicaine très appréciée pour son ambiance chaleureuse, son décor et son service attentif, avec des tacos variés (agneau, birria, al Pastor, baja fish) et de bons cocktails; les portions et les prix varient selon les plats, certains clients trouvant les portions petites ou les prix élevés pour la quantité, mais la plupart louent la fraîcheur et les saveurs ainsi que le menu découverte et le service multilingue. Des temporisations existent parfois: service lent, heure de fermeture plus tôt que prévu ou notes négatives sur quelques plats; toutefois l expérience globale est très positive et donne envie de revenir.
We loved our visit here & are so glad that we found this place while visiting Montreal. There were three of us & we decided to try the tasting experience while sitting at the bar. The bartender explained to us what it was, took in account our food allergies, & provided us with an amazing experience in some amazing food options & drinks. The staff were so friendly & really made our experience wonderful. Thank you!
This place is amazing! Great atmosphere, & the food & drink is incredible. My family enjoyed ever part of our visit & we will definitely come back when we're in town.

Yona & Kike made my rare restaurant excursion a truely wonderful dining experience! Wonderful food, wonderful tapas, great drinks, & & a nice atmosphere accommodating. I kept ordering because I was trying to find a reason not to leav. What is there not to like? you should really come.
Quelle belle expérience!!! Tout était parfait. Le service de notre serveuse était impeccable, elle nous a très bien conseillé pour les plats à déguster. Les drinks étaient excellents. La nourriture était délicieuse. Tout était goûteux.👌 je recommande ce restaurant mexicain fortement!!!
Amazing experience as always! The portions could be small for some but I think they are perfect & more importantly very tasty. The service was incredible from the moment we walked in, & the bartender was a true standout. After I asked for a surprise drink, they took the time to craft the perfect cocktail. You can tell they really care about what they do. Highly recommend!
We went to the Escondite for the first time last monday. The food was pretty good, we got the tacos al pastor & baja tacos, amazing but a little pricey.
The best part about this place has to be the service, our server was Charlie. Great with recommendations, & has a great knowledge of both food & drinks. We had an amazing time with him. 100% will be going back
We had the pork, lamb, shrimp & fried chicken tacos. We love the lamb best with little spice. We also had the Gyazo Nacho (they are Gyazo but with Guacamole on it) & pork ribs. All the seasonings are perfect!! The person serving us was top notch, it was our first time there, the person recommended the portion which was very helpful! They even try to replicate a drink they don't have on the menu!

J'ai pris le drink du jour (je crois que c'était gin, aloès & melon d'eau) & il était doux & délicieux!
J'ai aussi commandé les tacos Al Pastor. C'était bien assaisonné & goûteux, j'ai adoré.
Toutefois, je veux surtout parler du service qui était impeccable. J'y suis allée seule & toute l'équipe a été adorable avec moi! Ma serveuse Amélie ainsi que son collègue se sont assurés que je ne manquais de rien tout au long de mon repas.
I felt a bit uncomfortable with the strict two-hour limit on the reservation.
I was looking for a place to relax & enjoy drinks with friends, but it ended up feeling rushed.
Right at the two-hour mark, the waiter asked us to leave, which made the experience feel cut short.
The food & service were good, but the time pressure took away from the atmosphere.
We had a wonderful experience at Escondite! Our server whose name is escaping me (I'm sorry! Tall, female, long brown hair, glasses) was so friendly & attentive. There was a nut allergy at our table & she went above & beyond to ensure our meals arrived sans nuts, even double checking with the kitchen to ensure. The food & drinks were delicious. Everything was extremely fresh & the flavor profiles were on point. We also greatly appreciated the atmosphere (especially the volume in the restaurant) so we could enjoy the meal & each other's company in its entirety. Unfortunately, the phone did not eat first!! But we'd definitely return.
To start with, the drinks were phenomenal - Darlene is a master bartender & our specialty margaritas were so well balanced & tasty - truly some of the best margaritas we've ever had. Then we decided to be adventurous & try the tasting menu as the price was unbeatable. Every single course was delicious & we were so full but the food kept on coming. Really the perfect meal! We will be back next time we are in Montreal!
Shana, Chloe, Darling & Claire were awesome! They treated us like gold from start to finish & looked after all our needs. Absolutely amazing!! We couldn't have gotten better service! Plus food & drinks were awesome!
Honestly, one of my favourite places to go have a drink or to eat in the Montreal area. Sometimes, I even go on my own to have a nice & relaxed meal. Also, they make me feel at home over there. Yona & Quique, who are always managing the bar (among others), make amazing cocktails, & it is super fun to have a chat with. 100% recommended! :-)
