Review Summary

VOVA is described as a welcoming, well curated shop with a rich mix of European and former USSR groceries, including pelmeni, kartoshka, bread, pastries, and items like birch water and butter cookies; reviews note friendly staff who are helpful and offer recommendations, with one account mentioning a basket brought to the car and a Napoleon cake that delighted a birthday celebration; the space feels a bit tight due to the wide variety and parking nearby can be challenging; cash or debit is preferred as credit cards are not accepted; despite these quirks, the quality, atmosphere, and distinctive selection make it a standout destination for authentic European foods in Montreal.

I found birch water here at a reasonable price. It's an interesting little shop with many products from former USSR countries. No credit card

I bought pastries & they were absolutely delicious & fresh. The young lady working at the counter was very helpful by bringing me a basket to get my things to my car. The shop is a little tight for space because there's a lot of variety.

VOVA is a great place to discover & shop for European groceries in Montreal. The staff is always welcoming, & the variety of products is truly impressive-plenty of hard-to-find items & familiar favorites from across Europe. It's clear they put care into curating their selection. The space is a bit tight due to how much they offer, & parking can be a challenge since the few street spots nearby are often taken. Still, the quality & atmosphere more than make up for it. A little gem for anyone who enjoys authentic European foods.
