Whoa, this place introduced self inflicted shrinkflation. No longer worth going imho, see why below. Take out Order.
We order (used too, now no more) from Emeraude Bangkok for two reasons.
1) it was priced less than our favorite place for Szechuan - Latitude 31 (each plate is $10 less than Latitude 31) & was good value.
2) The General Tao went from decent (no where as good as Latitude 31) to eventually so bad that it's a hard pass (too much batter, too sweet & not enough meat). So we chose the Sesame Beef which was good. Well, no more ARGH!!!
SHRINKFLATION... the Sesame Beef is dry, because the portion size is a little less (same container size) & there next to no sesame seed sauce in each platter. Sheesh. 3 platters of Sesame Beef, all three dry.
Fortune Cookies are extra, no longer are they included & no longer available at the pickup desk.
Soy Sauce? it's EXTRA. No longer included.
Damn. Your cost cutting in the most damaging way. How'bout giving & including the'little extras' (not that I miss them, but it's a phycological thing) the fortune cookies & soy sauce yourself so you can control the abuse (people would take handful sometimes, instead of one per person).
OH, & since when do you get a brow beating for a pick up order & not tipping. Really!!! 1) do you really need to tip for a pick up order? Your not being served by a waiter, or cleaned up after, nor using utensils & plates! 2) Webster Merriam Definition for gratuity: something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service.
Great, an even more reason to not go there to get our szechuan fix.
Look, $10 more for a platter of General Tao ($19.45 vs $30.00) similar quantity & it's the gold standard no longer is worth the saving when ordering 3 platters worth of food if the food sucks.
(*Latitude 31 is the old chef's & sous-chef's from the closed L'Orchidée de Chine - they will even make you off menu items at Latitude 31 from the old L'Orchidée de Chine menu like Mongolian Beef).
My Pad Thai tasted very good. I had a take out & didn't have to wait long. Fair prices. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice. Would come here again.
Great place to dine Food is excellent at a very reasonable price. Only issue is , there is very limited parking
Prices are a little high, BUT they serve the best Chinese food between downtown Montreal & Ste-Anne's, maybe even all the way to Ottawa before you find better. & maybe not even then!?
Delicious & well priced food. Great menu choices. Nice relaxed atmosphere. I would definately come again
Amazing Food & great Service! Quality + Fresh + Price = WOW Long time customer. You can not miss

Very clean restaurant, nice decoration, bathrooms spotless & the service was outstanding.
Food taste amazing & fresh, price affordable. Our orders came all a the same time & hot.
Not too far from the 55e avenue if your work close to Lindsay, Francois Cuisson & Fairway.

Finally a decent Asian Restaurant in the West Island. I have eaten there 4 times in the last month & recommend their food highly. The décor is inherited from a prior restaurant & the ambiance just is OK . What is good is the Chinese cooking with a Thai flavoring in some of the dishes. The quality is consistently good, & we have always finished all the dishes or taken home the rest for lunch. I have visited many restaurants in Shanghai, Hong Kong, & Bangkok so I am experienced in eating the real thing. I still go to Montreal's Chinatown regularly ( especially for Chinese style Lobster with ginger & shallots ). The Emeraude de Bangkok offers the best Oriental food in the West Island. The prices are modest & they offer a good Lunch special.
Apparently the owner is the Chef, & that is good. The Emeraude de Bangkok is a welcome addition to the mostly boring & underwhelming fare offered in the West Island.

My husband & I have been it Emeraude de Bangkok many times & the food & the service are always excellent. Excellent value for the price. Well worth the drive.

The ambiance was great & the waitress was very kind. I recommend the pad thai, which was a large portion for the price. Another great dish was the tom yum soup. The restaurant was trendy & the decor was nice. Definitely a go-to spot for Thai food.
