Je vous recommande le Pad Thaï poulet, elles étaient vraiment bonnes & bien savoureuses. J'ai aussi goûté les Nouilles croustillantes Thaï, mais personnellement, j'ai moins aimé. Après, ça dépend vraiment des goûts de chacun. Les portions sont généreuses pour le prix.
Par contre, j'ai trouvé le service un peu décevant. Les serveurs n'avaient pas l'air très accueillants & ne nous ont pas vraiment aidés quand on leur a demandé ce qu'ils recommandaient de meilleur sur le menu.
Au moment de laisser le pourboire, j'ai aussi trouvé la situation un peu insistante. Un des serveurs a beaucoup insisté pour qu'on choisisse le pourcentage de pourboire le plus élevé, alors que je n'étais pas particulièrement satisfait du service. Finalement, on a quand même laissé un pourboire.
À part ça, je pense que c'est quand même un bon restaurant où aller. J'espère simplement que les autres auront une meilleure expérience que la nôtre !

As you read many of my other reviews you will see that I rarely dislike Asian restaurants. Well, sorry to say, even though this place was highly recommended. I tend not to agree.
When we entered the restaurant, it was full. Usually when a restaurant is so busy the food is really good. Right?
Maybe I'm too picky & used to eating flavor packed food.
We ordered the Combo Build Your Way menu.
Included are 2 soups, 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, 1 vegetable & 2 steamed rice. What a great deal.
We ordered 2 Hot & Sour soups which did not come to our table hot, so both were returned. Once they came back they were a bit warmer but still not hot. If you can get it hot, the soup was very tasty & not spicy.
For our appetizers we ordered the Peanut Butter Dumplings & Fried Calamari. The dumplings were delicious, I wanted more, but the Calamari was overly battered & greasy.
Our mains were Orange Beef & a Red Curry Chicken & the vegetable dish was the Basil Tofu with Mixed Vegetables.
The beef was tender but heavily batter in a sweet sticky sauce but no orange flavor & not spicy. There were 2 tiny slivers of orange peel in the sauce.
The Basil Tofu vegetables were tasteless but did contain a very nice variety of veggies. It needed a kick. It was supposed to be spicy but it was not at all.
The Red Curry Chicken, onbtje other hand, was very flavorful & a bit spicy. The Curry with coconut milk helped enhance the flavor & give it a bit of kick. Very good.
All in all, if the food would have been hotter instead of just warm, it may have been more enjoyable. I don't appreciate going to any restaurant & having to complain & return the food. Yes, sure it was a Saturday night, & they were busy, but really. Staff was sufficient but they didn't even approach us & ask if all was ok.
Would I recommend this place? No
Will I go back? Probably not.

Bon restaurant thailandais! Je recommande le combo pour deux personnes qui permet un bon rapport quantité-prix. J'apprécie le cury rouge au poulet. L'ambiance est tranquile pour le diner , mais le restaurant est souvent plein pour le souper.

Bringing your own wine is always a plus & the staff is friendly & very accommodating.

Très bonne cuisine. Meilleur boeuf au sésame que j'ai mangé. Service rapide. Employés peu loquaces mais efficaces. Prix raisonnables. Je recommande ce restaurant sans hésitation.

Our family has been longtime fans of Emeraude de Bangkok. Quality of food has always been excellent. Definitely recommend the soups, the peanut butter dumplings & the seasame beef!

Finally a decent Asian Restaurant in the West Island. I have eaten there 4 times in the last month & recommend their food highly. The décor is inherited from a prior restaurant & the ambiance just is OK . What is good is the Chinese cooking with a Thai flavoring in some of the dishes. The quality is consistently good, & we have always finished all the dishes or taken home the rest for lunch. I have visited many restaurants in Shanghai, Hong Kong, & Bangkok so I am experienced in eating the real thing. I still go to Montreal's Chinatown regularly ( especially for Chinese style Lobster with ginger & shallots ). The Emeraude de Bangkok offers the best Oriental food in the West Island. The prices are modest & they offer a good Lunch special.
Apparently the owner is the Chef, & that is good. The Emeraude de Bangkok is a welcome addition to the mostly boring & underwhelming fare offered in the West Island.

The ambiance was great & the waitress was very kind. I recommend the pad thai, which was a large portion for the price. Another great dish was the tom yum soup. The restaurant was trendy & the decor was nice. Definitely a go-to spot for Thai food.
