An absolute JOKE of a restaurant...!!!
Our waitress (suf) her name was nice
Restaurant manager Cynthia .. great personality .. noticed her coworkers were a bit overwhelmed & stepped in herself to come take over & help out ..truthfully too many people involved serving our table .. was kind of annoying ..
The Arancini .. AMAZING .. ordered 6 of them
The pizza .. came BURNT .. like really burnt
My pasta dish I ordered the Mafaldine al ragu.. nothing special ..(I'm Italian)
You can get better sauce out of a jar from a grocery store sadly.
My friend Ordered the anchovies as an appetizer ..just comes on top of oil… so of course you have to order bread too right … ($)
The bread comes with a small portion of olives that we didn't ask for but yet was charged to our bill!
Had to ask for napkins, & a spoon, we were a table of 3, our cocktail 🍹 drinks did not arrive at the same time, mine arrived 25 minutes after my friends, they give you RAGS, as'napkins' I had to ask for paper napkins 2/3 times because she had only brought me one… like really ?
Atmosphere: ZERO: extremely DARK & LOUD.. had to use the flashlights on our phone to read the TINY SMALL PRINT ON THE MENU.. we were a table of 3 & we spent all night screaming at each other .. way too loud in there .. is this a club or a restaurant?? Extremely loud will not return because what's the point of going for dinner with people if you cant even hear them ??
Now here is the best part …(being sarcastic)
Someone at our table asked for tea the waitress said we don't have tea, but we can get you a canary, we asked what that was, she said hot water with lemon, oh ok.. guess what ? Yes you guessed it right, hot water, with a tiny piece lemon we were charged 2$ for it !!! For hot water ?? Any resto you go to whether you ask for hot or cold water with a slice of lemon in it is not a charge ! But anyways will not be going back to this place again ..

One ⭐? star for the arancini & for the girls who served us Anthony as well!
Fabulous Italian food & attentive service. Only downside was the music which was too loud...hard to have a conversation.
Decent pizza, well cooked - only the edges were a bit burnt. The dough was the best part, the topping for me were so so. Yes they were tasty, but overall not quite Italian. We had the Diavolo, the funghi e taleggio & the marinara con stracciatella & anchovies. Chill environment, attentive service.
Elena is hands down the best restaurant in Montréal. When I moved back from Italy, I was craving real Italian food & nothing compared… until I found this place. It's the ONLY spot in the city that tastes truly authentic, just like in Italy.
Every dish is consistently delicious, the prices are super reasonable, & the staff are always so sweet & attentive. The décor feels chill & low-key, & if you pay attention you realize how beautiful it actually is. In the summer, the terrace & the park behind the restaurant make it even more special. So cozy! Even the music is always cool too.
Make sure to try the:
Suppli, bread with olive oil, meatballs, mafalda al ragu, agnolotti if you get the chance, margherita pizza & kale salad.
I've been coming here for 6 years straight & it never disappoints. Always my #1 pick in Montréal! Best restaurant ever.
Beautiful place & vary tasty Italian dishes. Operations are good. Totally recommended for special occasions. Beautiful terrace.
We travel often & the food was some of the best Italian we have had! We have a mix of appetizers, pasta & pizza & it was all delicious. The restaurant is a bit loud but we were there at a peak time so it was very full. Staff was great with wine recommendations as well. Would go again!
probably top 2-3 best italian in montreal - service is great, food is phenomenal, all staff + chefs were very kind & sweet
same level as lucca & moccione - highly recommend
Very nice place, typical Montreal style. Not easy to find. Very nice Italian food with a perfect wine menu.
We were seated at the bar. Bartender who also took our orders was very attentive, friendly & explained the menu well. The restaurant itself has very dim lighting with minimal decoration. Trendy yet simple. We ordered the supplì, Dante salad, beet with stracciatella, diavolo pizza & the special pasta of the night which was ravioli stuffed with butternut squash in a butter sage sauce. For dessert we got the olive oil cake which was super moist! All tasted great but i wasn't blown away either. Very basic italian dishes. Service was great & did not feel rushed. Not sure i would go back just because the menu didn't make me curious for more.
Love this place, our go to for Italian. The Mafalda Ragu is a must try!
My experience began with the reservation platform giving me an error message for 20 min & then we called. Called no answer but we got a call back. We didnt ask where we would be seated because we didnt know the layout of the place so we ended up being placed at the bar .... by the door ( ....so ask ). The kale ceasar salad was great with a mountain of parmesan cheese & the right amount of dressing . Now for the pizza our choices were diavolo 2.0 & the funghi ; for me the tomato sauce was too watery the meat didnt have as much flavor or kick as i wouldve expected from a diavolo so the whole thing fell through but i really enjoyed the funghi that had the flavor of the mushroom & parmesan collide in harmony, i will add that the crust was perfect in both. The pasta ( all'amatriciana) was average at best ,with so many good italian restaurants in the city unfortunately this one did not bring it home for me, the guanciale was burnt & again the sauce was watery. The dessert : Gateau au Chocolat , is a brownie texture shaped into a cake slice topped with ice cream , good but maybe heated ? The service was good & the staff was knowledgeable & at your service , simple & effective. Overall not a bad experience but will i go back ? Maybe , hopefully to have a better culinary experience that would be up to the hype. Food 3 | Service 5 | Atmosphere 4
Hidden gem of this city, amazing place for a date or to experience a refined gastronomical, italian culture
Great place for pizza & drinks. Food: delicious variety of Italian pizza, with a few unique twists. The chocolate cake dessert was surprisingly scrumptious. Drinks: well prepared. Presentation is top. Great selection of wine too Atmosphere: cozy, romantic, & touch of rustic. Service: all staff were very attentive, respectful, & professional. Excellent service Will come back for sure. Did not wait long to be seated without a reservation but recommend reserving
Really nice Italian restaurant, the pizza was cooked perfectly & with quality ingredients, wasn't sure about the corn ravioli but they turned out amazing. Cannoli were also really good, overall a great dining experience, price above average but reflects the food & the service!
Elena is one of the best Italian restaurant in the city. Every dish that I have tried there has been wonderfully tasty, with notable personal favourites being the mushroom pizza, the suppli (fried risotto balls) & the meatball appetizer. The service is absolutely great. When we had to wait for our table despite having a reservation, they brought us an appetizer on the house which was a very appreciated gesture. They also were very accommodating for my friend with celiacs, & were able to modify some dishes like the meatballs to make them gluten free for her. The vibe & decor are also just really nice. Will be back again & again :)
Great italian spot, perfect for a casual summer meal. We had the Danny pizza & the Kale ceasar, the ceasar was my highlight
Great Italian restaurant for both dine in & take out. Everything from the appetizers, pizzas & pastas were delicious. The staff was also very friendly & accommodated different dietary requirements such as pregnancy & vegeterian. The administration was also very kind to help us with group booking with reasonably priced set menu. They also accommodated by my newborn infant of 5 month in stroller. Highly recommend !
Love this place, pizza is authentic & Italian dishes are really good.
Cynthia was top notch! We were visiting from Toronto & she is so awesome. Her energy made the vibe & experience so fun. Great unique Italian food options & excellent dessert
