The food was amazing & the place was close to the farmers market so it was to walk around & see people shopping & all the different types of veggies, fruits, maple syrup, eggs etc. They had two types of salsa medium & hot so we bought extra to take home.
If you're in Jean Talon Market & are looking for some delicious authentic Mexican food , I would highly recommend you try the Enchiladas Mole & the Platos Del dia.
This place is run by the nicest family. Authentic taking food & the best horchata.
The food is amazing! I got the lamb taco. I wish there was 6 tacos instead of 4 , but that's just testament to how good it was. I'd go back. My husband has the pork tacos which we were wondering if he got chicken. I tasted it & it seemed like it was chicken... So that was strange, but it was still good so we didn't complain .
Order a burrito, the burrito had barely any chicken it was just pure tortilla with vegetables. Definitely not ordering more from there.
Fantastic place for authentic Mexican food, located in the center of Jean Talon Market. We've been regulars for many years, & they don't disappoint. It has a great shop inside with a huge variety of Mexican ingredients. Great stop for a meal while doing some food shopping
El Rey del taco is simply sublime. The food. The atmosphere are just on point. Filled with many options you will surely find something for your tastebuds to enjoy. A special shout out to a wonderful hostess Mailyn
Nice tacos restaurant! A classic in the Jean Talon market. I liked it. Ad an alternative in other Montreal areas, I recommend Victor Tacos (in St- Henri), or yhe more recent but very good Delicioso Mtl next to Beri Uqam.
Best nachos I've ever had are from here. Mains were decent but not bad. Very authentic Mexican style food.
Went here for lunch & found it to be a solid Mexican spot. We got the 1/4 kg chicken tacos & the sopes with chorizo. The tacos were solid, chicken was juicy & tasty & the tortillas were soft (in a good way). The sopes were good but I found the chorizo to be a bit salty but my partner enjoyed them. I wouldn't necessarily come back here but I would recommend to someone who has never tried real Mexican food.
