I haven't been in many years & was unpleasantly surprised. Food was average at best, portions were tiny & the restaurant had an overall uncleanly feel to it. I also arrive home with an upset stomach. that will be it for this spot.
In my souvenir this place used to not as bad as it was last saturday night when i visited. Restaurant looks dirty. Portions are small & service was below pair. Not coming back in the foresable future. You can get better food, atmosphere & service at many other similar restaurants in the region.
My partner & I went to Le roi du taco yesterday for dinner. As a vegetarian it's usually hard to find a good spot to eat Mexican food, but I'm pleased to say that Le roi du taco had really good vegetarian tacos. Most restaurants only put mushrooms in vegetarian tacos, which I personally don't like as a vegetarian, but I liked that the tacos at this restaurant had a different combination of vegetables on their tacos, all in the perfect amount, while also being provided enough beans, rice, lettuce, & guac on the side to fill the tacos as well. Undoubtedly the best tacos I've had eating out.
The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the complimentary chips tasted stale, & the dip provided tasted almost flavourless, but other than that, both me & my partner enjoyed the food we ordered.
I ordered the chicken tamales with beans & rice & now from that meal i have food poisoning...it tasted okay but a couple hours after having it i was in the bathroom with very bad indigestion. Someone else in my family had it & they now also have very bad stomach do not recommended.
Le serveur était bon, mais l'ordre dans lequel nous avons reçu nos plats était vraiment bizarre. De plus, nous avons dû demandé les chips avec salsa puis ce que ça nous n'avait pas été offert. Disons que la salsa était sans goût & il n'y avait pas de morceaux. La soupe de tortilla est arrivée tiède. On a reçu des tacos au boeuf alors qu'on avait commandé cabeza. Ils étaient vraiment ordinaire, aucune sauce, du boeuf & des légumes grillés. En gros, grosse déception d'être entrée dans ce restaurant. D'ailleurs, la facture s'élevait à 93$ avant tip 😱

Ça a déjà été bon, mais maintenant on a l'impression de se faire voler, les tacos sont à peine garnis, une petite cuillères de viande dans chacun. On a commandé une entrée de guacamole à 15$ à partager à trois & on a rit tellement le bol était petit, peut-être 1/4 de tasse & 8 chips. L'équivalent d'un demi avocat à 99 cent assaisonné sommairement. 37$ chacun pour 4 mini tacos, une cuillère de guacamole & un verre d'horchata. Il a fallu re-diner ailleurs ensuite, on avait faim.
J'y suis allé plusieurs fois, essayer plusieurs plats & à chaque fois, j'adore. La dernière fois, j'ai pris le snadwhich cubain... ça slappait. Excellent! Ils servent du coke mexicain aussi! Bref, tout pour nous immerger.
Le ceviché était bon. En revanche, la soupe de tortillas & le service étaient très ordinaires. Le serveur a apporté tous les plats en même temps, ce qui a causé un manque de place sur la table.
I ordered a taco bowl, which was amazing, but the thing bothers me a little as when I paid (note, they only take cash so if you don't carry cash around, be mindful about that) & I asked gave me three dollars & I just got two instead. It's really just a dollar difference & not big of deal but not able to decide how much I'm getting back bothers me. I don't know if that was a misunderstanding there but just wanted to point it out.
I can't come to Montreal without coming to this place! This is the best food you can get in this city! Honestly, it's the freshest & most delicious. They always keep their quality & freshness! I love it! & I will always be back
