Many guests highlight the generous portion sizes, flavorful menu options, and warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes the dining experience feel like a culinary trip to El Salvador. Delicious popusas & fried plantain

Très abordable! On en a pour notre monnaie certainement. Nous avons commandé les plantain frit, le combo numéro trois & six. On était rassasié. Pour ma part, j'a trouvé que le plat de yuca avec porc était un peu lourd. Le tout restait quand même très bon.

The food here is really excellent-we haven't had a bad dish yet & we've been coming for years. Lots to explore: tender tamales, plantains with crema & beans, Maranón juice, & of course pupusas. On the service front things can be slow, but it's usually busy, & everyone is so uniformly kind & friendly that it's really just a matter of being relaxed. & for what you get it's very reasonable.

We wanted to give this place another shot, but were left with an unpleasant experience. The hostess rudely welcomed us by just pointing at us where to sit without cleaning up the table. We ordered Pupusas; they looked fine but the sides had empty masa. Texture was runny, couldn't even cut it properly without all the filling coming off. Take in mind we ordered beans/cheese & pork/cheese pupusas, which are supposed to be solid, not runny. The chicharron wasn't entirely 100% pork. Salsa was good but the curtido was flavorless, had way too much onions & cut into big chunks with cucumber. Forgot to take pics of the food, but I'll leave one of the curtido as we were still in shock about the chunks. We gave it a 4/10 just because of the salsa. If you plan to continue ordering, you'll have to express it since they don't ask if you need anything else. Once you do, they'll hand you ONE menu per table, remove the plates but leave you the same cutlery sets. We didn't make a big deal, we stood up, grabbed another menu & asked for cutlery sets. Corn tamales were a 6.5/10, sour cream was definitely salvi; however, the plantains were still unripe to be fried so that was a 3/10. Another thing I'd like to mention, is the harassment for tipping a mediocre service. The hostess had the audacity to level up her shadiness because she expected to be tipped way beyond. Their customer service needs to be seriously improved, especially with this girl they have as a hostess. Not sure if she's there every Wednesday evening. Overall, we rate this place as a 2/10

Tried El Chalateco recently & really enjoyed it!

I ordered the horchata - super fresh & flavorful, definitely a must-try! 🤍 The pupusas were good, but I personally prefer a bit more cheese & pork in the filling:)

I also had the fried pork with plantains & yuca, & it was delicious. The pork was nicely seasoned & crispy, & the combo with sweet plantains & starchy yuca worked really well.

Overall, great spot for Salvadoran comfort food 🤎🤍🤎🤍🤎

Friendly service, authentic food, clean place. Their pupusas aren't quite as good as La Carreta, but other menu items like soups, tacos, plantain & Meat dishes are better.
