Pleasantly Surprised - Amazing Food & Service!
I was a little skeptical at first after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm really glad I gave this place a try. The sushi & overall food were absolutely fantastic - super fresh & full of flavor. The service was quick & attentive, & the staff were friendly & welcoming. I honestly don't have any complaints. Everything I tried exceeded my expectations, & I left genuinely impressed. I got takeout twice. The food is spectacular. The first time, however, I had to wait double the expected time. Tonight I was going to go there for a third time. I arrived at 7:40. I was told I would need to wait for 10 minutes before I could place a takeout order. I waited 25 minutes only to be told that they wouldn't take my order. The host was very apologetic.
It looked somewhat busy, & I get that it takes time to make high-quality sushi. But stay a little later after you've made me wait for 25 minutes just to place a takeout order.
Again, the food is totally worth the price, but I don't think I'll be going back.View more

Third time but definitely not the last. This place never fails to amuse me & everybody I brought in to try the best sushi in Tremblant. The location & ambiance is beautiful, & the food was the big cherry on top! 🤩 Big shoutout to Chef Merts for an amazing masterpiece! It's incredible how food can look so good & also taste delicious! I believe he changes the sushi menu based on the season & this has got to be one of the best sets I've tried. The servers were all so kind & accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Tremblant. We only did a day trip but we ended our day with a full & happy stomach 🥰🤤View more

The food was pretty good. But, we had to wait quite long for each dish even for small dishes such as noodles or gyoza (one & a half hours to get our main sushi dish) Other than that, the restaurant was very cutely decorated & the presentation of the dishes were stunning.View more

Nous avons été franchement déçus de notre visite. Le ramen, bien que savoureux, est arrivé tiède & les nouilles étaient trop cuites. Les gyozas étaient corrects, mais sans plus.
Nous avions commandé le « Deluxe Platter » à 140 $, l'item le plus cher du menu, & ça a été une grosse déception : des sushis ordinaires, dont un simple rouleau de concombre qui n'a clairement pas sa place dans un plat de ce prix. Seul le nigiri au thon gras se démarquait, le reste manquait de saveur & de raffinement.
Le service a été extrêmement long (près de trois heures) & mal coordonné : les plats arrivaient en décalé. Cela dit, la serveuse était bien agréable & le décor du resto est vraiment réussi.
Mais à 430 $ pour deux, on s'attendait à une expérience gastronomique à la hauteur. Ce ne fut malheureusement pas le cas. On ne reviendra pas.View more

In short - it was one of the best sushi dinners that we have ever had. All of the dishes were mouthwatering, of the highest quality, taste & presentation.
We had miso soup & edamame, also yakitori scallops (we were surprised by having them been served first) as appetizers, then eel & salmon rolls, as well as a torched tuna sashimi($25 for two pieces).
Fried ice cream was excellent, as well.
Yes, this place is pricey, rolls & sashimi range $20-25, but the taste was well worth the price.
However, the drinks are overpriced.
A glass of wine is $15, but charging the same for alcohol-free mocktails & beer $15( for local) & $21 (for an average Japanese blanche) we found simply unreasonable.
The service was prompt & friendly - we'd definitely return when in Tremblant.View more

Mertz's sushi is hands down the best I've ever had! Every time I visit Mont-Tremblant, I make the 1.5-hour drive just to pick up his sushi from Bel Air. The freshness, authenticity, & attention to detail in every bite make it far superior to anything I've had in Montreal. Even as takeout, the quality remains outstanding-each piece is perfectly crafted & full of flavor. If you're a sushi lover, you must try Mertz's sushi. It's absolutely worth the trip!View more

Cozy beautiful place in the midst of mountains at Mont Tremblant. The food is exquisite. Best sushi I ever had. Ingredients are top quality. Fish simply melts under tongue. Even the rice has a grain quality of its own. Chef Merts is a gem & so nice & funny too. Kudos to you!View more

OK this place should have a Michelin star . It's the best sushi I've had. Insanely fresh, flavorful, beautiful presentation. Amazing service. Uni is so good. The bone marrow, mmm, wagyu yakitori, all the sushi pieces. Blue mackerel was fantastic. Will be back in 3 days when they receive their uni shipment! & the restaurant itself is gorgeous!View more

Ekki was an incredible dining experience. So much that we returned later in our week long visit to Mt Tremblant. Lucie, our server made both visits extra special with her cheerful service that was above & beyond. The food is exceptional - must-haves include the truffle edamame - easily the best edamame we've ever tasted. The pork ramen is also a chart topper, & we've had a lot of ramen. The pork is incredibly savory as is the broth. The ahi tuna in any format is fabulous & fresh caught, never frozen according to the chefs. On our second visit Lucie sat us as the chef's table so we could see the sushi prep first hand. The chefs were wonderful & engaging as they worked to prepare tasty & beautifully presented works of art, each garnished with tiny flowers & served on wooden planks, some so large they spanned entire table widths. The hot sake is superb & served in a warm water-filled container to keep it hot. As for the decor - it's a very unique & cool vibe - predominantly eastern with touches of mountain lodge chic in the exposed ceiling frame planks. You can park close to the restaurant if spaces are available but we recommend parking at the base & taking the lit wooden stairway for a wonderful & picturesque experience. Chapeau to the entire operation at Ekki. We look forward to returning on our next visit.View more

Ekki Sushi was the most hospitable establishment I have ever been to! They accommodated us even after missing our original reservation due to transportation issues. The food was so fresh & flavorful. It was the best sushi I've ever had. We were also having trouble finding a ride home, but we were able to make it home safely with their help.
