I got takeout twice. The food is spectacular. The first time, however, I had to wait double the expected time. Tonight I was going to go there for a third time. I arrived at 7:40. I was told I would need to wait for 10 minutes before I could place a takeout order. I waited 25 minutes only to be told that they wouldn't take my order. The host was very apologetic.
It looked somewhat busy, & I get that it takes time to make high-quality sushi. But stay a little later after you've made me wait for 25 minutes just to place a takeout order.
Again, the food is totally worth the price, but I don't think I'll be going back.View more
The service was quick & very good. Very nice quiet scenic space. The restaurant is located inside the campgrounds. Parking is on a hill. It was not a far drive from Tremblant. The quality of the food was very good.View more
Wow! The sushi was beautiful & tasted exceptional. It was also reasonably priced for the quality! You must try it if you're in TremblantView more
Just love this place! The location is beautiful in the Tremblant area, the decor inside is right on par & the service was beyond what we expected. Our waiter was full of recommendations & we ate like kings. The quality & quality of the fish was perfect & we will definitely be back.View more
One of the best meals I've ever had! Incredible quality of ingredients, fantastic service, & beautiful decor.
Food is on the more expensive side, but it was worth every penny, & I'll be sure to stop by here again!View more
Today I placed a pickup order for 5:00 PM & arrived a few minutes early at 4:50. Despite the restaurant only having one table occupied, I was told my order was running late & it would be about 10 more minutes - which I was totally fine with.
However, 20 minutes later, I had to ask again, & this time I was told it would be another 5 minutes. My food finally came out at 5:35.
I really wish the staff had communicated more clearly from the beginning. If the delay was going to be 30 minutes, just letting me know upfront would've made a big difference. Even a small gesture, like offering water while I waited, would have gone a long way.
That said, the food tasted great - no complaints there. Just wish the service matched the quality of the food.View more
In short - it was one of the best sushi dinners that we have ever had. All of the dishes were mouthwatering, of the highest quality, taste & presentation.
We had miso soup & edamame, also yakitori scallops (we were surprised by having them been served first) as appetizers, then eel & salmon rolls, as well as a torched tuna sashimi($25 for two pieces).
Fried ice cream was excellent, as well.
Yes, this place is pricey, rolls & sashimi range $20-25, but the taste was well worth the price.
However, the drinks are overpriced.
A glass of wine is $15, but charging the same for alcohol-free mocktails & beer $15( for local) & $21 (for an average Japanese blanche) we found simply unreasonable.
The service was prompt & friendly - we'd definitely return when in Tremblant.View more
Mertz's sushi is hands down the best I've ever had! Every time I visit Mont-Tremblant, I make the 1.5-hour drive just to pick up his sushi from Bel Air. The freshness, authenticity, & attention to detail in every bite make it far superior to anything I've had in Montreal. Even as takeout, the quality remains outstanding-each piece is perfectly crafted & full of flavor. If you're a sushi lover, you must try Mertz's sushi. It's absolutely worth the trip!View more
Cozy beautiful place in the midst of mountains at Mont Tremblant. The food is exquisite. Best sushi I ever had. Ingredients are top quality. Fish simply melts under tongue. Even the rice has a grain quality of its own. Chef Merts is a gem & so nice & funny too. Kudos to you!View more
Great food. The quality is definitely there & while the prices are a bit elevated it's definitely worth it. Special attention is given to the presentation but the quality of the food is also superior: both the flavor & texture are noticeably better than even the other good sushis out thereView more
This was some of the best sushi I've ever had. Incredible environment, incredible quality.View more
I recommend it 100% - delicious, authentic, excellent quality sushi! Wines are delicious. The best restaurant in the Mont Tremblant area so try to make a reservation in advance as they are usually booked out.View more
Absolutely excellent food & service! Our waitress was so sweet & the chef was outstanding. We ordered 4 starters (Caribbean fritters, lake fried fish, burrata, crab meat) & 2 mains (sea bass + salmon wellington) off the new menu but then thought to add another main in case it wasn't enough. Later on e we'd started eating, we realised we'd had enough food & asked to cancel the second sea bass we added later. The waitress informed us that they hadn't started it yet cause the chef wanted to make sure we still wanted the sea bass. I was amazed at the honestly & humility of the chef, most places would jump got an excuse to charge you more. The food was absolutely amazing - the portion sizes were so generous but quality wasn't compromised. The salmon wellington was a new concept to us but did not disappoint! The risotto under the sea bass so creamy & delicious. For dessert we got a chocolate fondant & berry tart, both were excellent & not too sweet. The chef then brought us out some house made compote with our desserts as a treat on the house to finish off our meals. Ultimately, this was absolutely excellent. So well priced for incredible quality food, & in such a cozy environment!View more
My visit to Le Bistro at Bel Air Tremblant for breakfast left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant itself is nestled in a beautiful setting, providing a picturesque backdrop to start the day. However, there were some aspects of the experience that left room for improvement.
First, the setting was undeniably beautiful. The ambiance was serene & inviting, & the views were simply stunning. It's the kind of place that can easily set the mood for a pleasant meal.
On the flip side, the service left something to be desired. With just two servers for a group of 14, it was evident that they were stretched thin. This made the service a bit slower than I would have liked, & it was challenging for them to keep up with such a large group. More staff might be needed during peak hours to ensure a smoother dining experience.
As for the food, I opted for an omelet. It was decent, but I'd describe it as moderate. I had expected a bit more in terms of flavor & variety, considering the picturesque surroundings. It wasn't a standout breakfast, but it wasn't disappointing either.
One particular detail that bothered me was the coffee service. They served the coffee in different cups, which, personally, I found a bit inconvenient. A standard coffee pot or carafe on the table would have been a more practical choice, allowing guests to refill their cups at their leisure.
In summary, Le Bistro at Bel Air Tremblant offers a beautiful setting for breakfast, but improvements in service & perhaps more attention to the food quality could make it an even more memorable dining experienceView more
We went there for a special occasion & in my reservation I asked for a nice table but we didn't get one & were also unlucky with the waitress who messed up our order without apologizing & only checked on us once. The chairs outside are way too tall for the tables, meaning we felt squished & uncomfortable. The only thing that balanced these negative experiences was the quality & the taste of the food. I would come back for the food but not for a special occasion.
Disappointed that they stopped serving cocktails. They were amazing last year. Food remained of quality, but somehow portions seemed reduced compared to last year.
It used to be our fav restaurant but the service & food quality which used to be amazing has declined. So sad to see this gem decline.
Excellent sushi, you will not be dissappinted! Ambiance, service but most importantly quality dining...Ekki has it all! LOVED 😍
Excellent meal ! Sushi was outstanding especially the Toro sashimi. Great to have this high quality sushi restaurant in Tremblant
Food taste, quality, & presentation are impressive. Staff is friendly & efficient. Atmosphere is warm & inviting. Try it once & you will become a regular.
A unassuming quality restaurant with a great chef & knowledgable staff & we thank you for a wonderful Japanese meal served in a beautiful timber chalet with relaxing ambience & lighting, deep in the forests of Mont Tremblant.
& thereby hangs a tale...
Our car journey from our hotel should only have taken us about 15 minutes but we trusted our memory of a map instead of sat-nav !
So we got lost but enjoyed at least three times that time exploring the countryside !
Looking for a sign saying Ekki Sushi with a helpful arrow at the roadside (as you would) was our mistake.
We later learnt that we should have followed the signs to the Bel Air development...where Ekki Sushi is actually located...this caused a few fly-pasts before a very obliging local (of whom there were very few to be found at dinner time) very kindly directed us to the correct turning.
At this turning please follow a long off-road approach to the Bel Air development area & the restaurant is the other side of its parking area. There you will find Ekki Sushi at the top of a steep left turn.
It is well worth the effort!
The sashimi & special maki rolls were excellent & the toro was superb. The service was also excellent, very nice & knowledgeable waiter, had nice table outside. Did not expect to find this quality in the region. Thank you 😊.
