Great spot for shawarma & tasty boza (ice cream). The atmosphere & workers are very welcoming & generous. Chicken shawarma is much better than beef but both are great price & quality. The falafel are filling & made authentically.
Habibi! Come to Dunya! Forget the boustan & other Shawarma's of Montreal. Dunya is the place. Serving some of the most accurate Shawarmas. Falafel & Flavors of Lebanon, this place stays true to their roots.
Also, can we just point out that the Chicken Shawarma is under 10$!

I honestly felt like I was back home the moment I took my first bite!
The shawarma tasted exactly like the one we grew up eating, perfectly seasoned, juicy, & fries inside just right. It's so rare to find that true homemade Lebanese flavor… but they absolutely nailed it.
The fattouche was incredible: fresh, flavorful, & so authentic. It genuinely reminded me of my mom's homemade salad & they do the mixing on the spot!
We also had some falafel! Crunchy on the outside, soft & delicious on the inside. Simply perfect combination.
MUST ORDER THE FRIES!
The service was incredible & the girl on the cashier took her time to explain & was very patient with our picky order!
PS: didn't have time to take pictures as my kids started eating on the spot!
I had been curious about this place for a while, & now I completely understand all the great reviews.
We visited with our family & were still able to get seated, which was a nice surprise. It's a small, charming shawarma & falafel spot! simple, authentic, & full of flavor. The food brought back real memories of the original tastes we enjoyed in the Middle East.
You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything is fresh, generous, & incredibly affordable. Honestly, I can't remember the last time we paid so little for such a satisfying meal for a family of four.
The owner was exceptionally kind, making sure we enjoyed everything & even offering us complimentary ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. Everyone were super friendly too they serve you with a smile.
This place checks all the boxes of what you hope for in a restaurant. It was definitely worth the long drive, & we'll absolutely be coming back & recommending it to everyone.
Great joint to hit the spot when you want fresh & flavourful middle eastern quick food.
Love that their wraps are slightly different from each other, instead of all the wraps being the same except for the protein. Different wraps, good wraps, happy tummy.
Love their fam size make-your-own falafel. My go to. How can you resist fresh made falafel? I mean the giant pan of oil is just staring at you, tempting you with its hot magic. Satisfying hot crispy balls. The power of fried goodness matched with very fresh garnishes to go. Delish!
Another thing this place does well is the few many sauces. All profiles, different tastes & spiceness. Yum yum.
Prices are very competitive. Thanks for keeping it real, Dunya!
Amazing shawarma, came here twice during my stay. It's simple & flavourful. We also tried their falafel & it was delicious. Can get really busy but staff are really friendly!
Authentic & delicious falafel!
The taste is truly amazing - crispy on the outside, fresh & flavorful on the inside. You can really tell the difference with the parsley & mint; it adds a bright, authentic touch. The portions are generous, & the tarator sauce is so good, it takes everything to another level.
Yes, $9 feels a bit expensive, but considering the quality & the location, it's understandable. Overall, very satisfying & worth trying if you love real, well-made falafel.
My boyfriend & I left completely satisfied! We tried both the shawarma & the falafel, & they were absolutely delicious - amazing flavor, super fresh, & very well prepared.
The service was impeccable; everyone was extremely polite & attentive. The place is very clean & organized, & you can really see how harmoniously the staff works together.
We were pleasantly surprised in every way. We'll definitely be back!
Highly recommended!

The only authentic lebanese shawarma place in Montréal. The beef, chicken & even falafel sandwiches are made to perfection with the proper ingredients & spices. Definitely reminds me of home. I have been going back on a weekly basis since I discovered it. Can get busy but they're very efficient. Keep it up.
I went to Dunya in Montreal & tried the beef shawarma & the falafel sandwich - both were amazing. The customer service was just as great, super friendly & welcoming. Honestly, if I lived in Montreal I'd eat here every day. Highly recommend!
I'm so happy that we decided to finally stop by! We ordered the chicken shawarma (originally my husband ordered the beef but as they had ran out, they nicely offered a refund of the difference between the two items, or a drink/ice cream/sauces) & while the content of the wrap is simple, the flavors blend so well. I was especially impressed with the pickles & the toum. The falafel is also crunchy on the outside, but so soft & flavorful on the inside. & less than $9 for a wrap, considering what's in it, is not a bad deal at all. Nice people, well run, good ingredients, & simple but absolutely delicious. We'll for sure be back!
Heard many people speak very highly of this place & I was not disappointed. It's a small but very cozy & clean joint. Service was prompt & friendly. The menu is a bit limited compared to other shawarma/lebanese fast-food restaurants, but the quality is much higher than most places. They do not have any sides other than fries, fattoush & various dipping sauces (not baba ghanoush or hummus or muhammara or tabouleh)
They do not have the usual herbed garlic potatoes, however the fries are some of the best fries to be had in Montreal. Freshly made, unlike every other cheap lebanese/greek/south asian fastfood places that use frozen, but at the same time not dark brown greasy like in most French Canadian joints. Seemed to be about 1/4 inch thick, perfectly golden & crispy. I much rather have those fries than garlic potatoes that have been sitting on the tray for way too long, which a lot of joints don't even bother reheating when you order & when they do, they use the microwave.
I had the chicken shawarma sandwich & it was pretty good. I don't particularly care for putting fries in sandwiches/wraps but it wasn't bad either. The wraps do not contain any lettuce or tomatoes unlike every other shawarma place in Montreal, which is a good thing, it doesn't end up being a soggy wet sour mess that overpowers the meat. This place only puts chicken, pickles & toum in their chicken shawarma. You have to like garlic though, because the toum does take over quite a lot. One of the drawbacks maybe is that it seems like the chicken does not have as much seasoning from baharat, or maybe I can't taste it because the toum in the sandwich just overpowers it completely. Also they do not offer platters for their chicken & beef shawarma, only for the falafel option. It's not like most Montreal shawarma/shishtaouk places taste much of cinnamon/allspice/cloves (especially the old school joints), but here it's definitely not a highlight.
I saw a deep purple squirt bottle in the prep area, looked like it might have been pomegranate molasses, but my chicken shawarma didn't really taste like it had any in it.
They offer self serve ice cold water, free of charge.
The prices & portions are on par with other shawarma restaurants in Montreal. The pitas are not huge, or stuffed with a lot of meat, but is okay sized. The fries portion is good. Paid $14.72 tax in. Pretty comparable to a lot of places out there & somewhat proportionate to the increase in minimum wage, but yes in the grand scheme of things it is a bit expensive, but it's the same everywhere.
