Review Summary

Reviews portray Duc de Lorraine as a stylish spot where superb pastries, inventive trompe l'oeil desserts, and warm, attentive service meet an elegant ambiance, making it a memorable choice for celebrations, brunches, or a casual pastry run. While some notes mention high prices and occasional delays, the overall impression highlights quality, generous flavors, and a refined atmosphere that invites a return for the pastries, the desserts, and the experience.

I went often as a little girl. It was a special then, & it still is. The staff was accommodating & caring to my requests regarding the fact that I am in a motorized wheelchair. Friendly staff, pastries to die for, & other yummy things. Back to memo

I am a regular here & have tried most of the more substantial pastries on the menu. Coffee is amazing too. It's small but very comfy. Not a place to go when you are watching calories. My favourites: the almond croissant (heart attack on a plate), the Duc de Lorraine pizza, the tart with fruits, & the collection of its cheeses. Don't forget to pick up a delicious loaf of French style bread to take home with you!

WOW!!! I got to say that this is the bakery I will for sure go & get my cakes. I just bought a birthday cake for my dad & honestly everybody at the party loved it. The cake was like heaven in your mouth aka that is a good cake. When I was going to the bakery to check out some cakes & flavors, employees were so nice & patience & helping me out with cakes size & flavors which I like that.

It took me a while to discover it. I also travel to Paris twice a year, which is responsible for my refusal to eat pastries or bread that aren't close to the perfection found there. So, I do know the difference between frozen cardboard filled with chemicals from the really fine stuff.

This bakery is the real deal, & has been my choice for the last couple of years or so, from the time it was owned by the previous owners to the last visit when I indulged in that birthday cake so deliciously described in a previously.

Croissants! Good? No. Great? YES. Crisp, delicate, impossible to eat in the car as it explodes into those flakes that are the mark of really good croissants.

The pates are wonderful, too wonderful! The cakes are tres francais. Light cakes filled with fresh fruit fillings or wonderful, not too sweet chocolate or hazelnut mousse, etc. The frosting, again, is in the French tradition of not being sweet, heavy buttercream (although there's nothing wrong with that!) but instead has a whipped cream/sugar texture that is much lighter. & they are GORGEOUS! I'm always proud to bring something from this bakery to any gathering.

C'est superb!

Lovely cozy cafe on the corner of a hot spot.
Got the hot chocolate & almond crossiant - Almandine
Hot cocoa was super rich & warm & sweet. The kind you know is not made with water. The richness of the chocolate is really what sets this place apart.

Almond crossiant is really wonderful. I loved the prevalent taste of the almond...it's not just the extract or something, it's made with real almond paste. Really great. Large croissant too, & they don't skim out on the flavor. & the Almond cream inside was of taste TO DIE FOR!

If you're looking for pastries & sweets that are yummy, & so pretty they are almost works of art...you can't go wrong with this place.

Now the service, it is absolutely outstanding! When you come in, everyone, like every single waiter greats you with a warm smile! The minute you enter you feel so comfy & relaxed! High level service which is so rare these days.....
Really lovely place. Adore it & recommend it to everyone!
