Review Summary

Drogheria Fine is widely celebrated as a quintessential Montreal staple, offering a unique and authentic street food experience centered on fresh, pillowy gnocchi served with a signature tomato sauce. While opinions on the sauce's flavor profile vary, with some diners finding it incredibly comforting and others noting it as overly acidic or simple, the overall consensus highlights the exceptional value and generous portion sizes for the price. The minimalist, quick-service takeout window frequently draws lines, yet the efficient staff and fast turnover make it a convenient stop for locals and tourists alike. Visitors should be prepared for a cash or Canadian debit-only policy and limited seating options, though the cozy neighborhood vibe and proximity to other local gems make it a highly recommended experience for those seeking a hearty, affordable, and warm bite.

This is an unreal experience. Where in the world can you find a window that just sells gnocchi? Well you can find it here, & the sauce & a gnocchi is so good..

The sauce is homemade, & it tastes like it is in a pot for hours if not days. There's no sweetness, no sugar, all you can taste is reduced tomatoes, caramelized onions, & the herbs. The sauce has a bold body & is very herbaceous.

$5 gets you a sizable container that wall keep you satisfied for hours.

A great grab & go option that really adds to the dynamiam of the street. A little on the spicy side but nothing unbearable.

Portion sizes are on the larger size so it makes a perfect on the go appetizer for two if you're on your way to one of the other great restaurants or dessert spots that are on this street.

Les gnocchis sont tout simplement incroyable. Je recommande aussi d'acheter un pot de sauce tomate & de l'emporter chez soi!

$5 food that's actually good. The service is super quick & nice.
Only thing to note: we went on friday night before 9, said it was open till then, & it wasn't :( there were a few other people as confused as we were lol. But tbh fair, just would like to know in advance :)
We still came back the day after & were not disappointed

Solid choice! Not that spicy or cheesy, but delicious none the less. It is definitely too much for one person in my opinion. We split one box between four people & I felt like that was the perfect amount. I would totally recommend stopping by! However, like most spots in Montréal there isn't really a place to stop & sit & eat. There was a small seating area that was a public shared space & at the time we were able to get a spot. So be prepared to eat & walk or eat & stand.

Delicious, filling, & super cheap gnocchi -- what more can you ask for? This cute, Instagram-famous shop window serves nothing but gnocchi with homemade tomato sauce; you can only get it to-go, & they don't sell anything else (although you can choose to dress it up with cheese &/or red pepper flakes). Although they only make one thing, they do it incredibly well -- the gnocchi is super soft & pillowy, & it's clear that they started as a tomato sauce shop. The sauce is remarkably flavorful, with the right balance of savory, acidic, & very slightly sweet. It's especially tasty with the pepper, although beware that they like to pour a vat full of red pepper flakes on top. It's served in a Chinese take-out container with chopsticks, which is very cute & feels a bit like a clash of cultures.

The staff is super friendly, & it's 100% worth a stop, especially at their price point of $5 for a giant take-out container. They don't have any seating inside, but there are a few benches nearby that you can plop down on.
