Dilallo Burger Original 1929 is described as a nostalgic standout where burgers are incredibly tasty, especially the Buck burger, often regarded as one of the best in town, with notes of a juicy double buck and a spicy jalapeno twist. The menu is praised for quality ingredients and a style that feels old timey and comforting, with fries and onion rings that fit the retro vibe. The atmosphere, service and cleanliness are frequently highlighted as positives, and staff are described as friendly and helpful; the place is remembered as an institution in Ville Emard. A few criticisms appear, including occasional order inaccuracies, burgers that are a bit greasy or overcooked, and price perceptions, as well as poutine or fries not always meeting expectations. Takeout experiences vary, with packaging and water service sometimes noted. Overall the restaurant offers a unique, heritage driven burger experience with consistently strong burgers and a lively, welcoming environment, though experiences can differ from visit to visit.
The burgers are amazing here. I tried the double Buck, which was really juicy & left me feeling full. They add jalapenos, which gives it a nice little twist. I also had a normal poutine & it was okay.
Dillalos. Where you can bask in the glory of Mario Lemieux, beaming down at you from a giant poster where the man himself has written,'To the Dillalo family, best wishes, your friend, Mario'. The burgers here are like a Time Machine to another time & place. The French fries & onion rings an old friend who hasn't changed & has kept their endearing smile. Root beer served on ice (if you ask for it) & a string of locals who are always up for a chat. How ARE Les Glorieux doing this year? This delightful spot that first opened its doors in 1929 & is an absolute can't miss spot on your classic Montréal restos stops.
I have been a huge fan of Dilallo's since I used to get a Buck Burger for an actual $1.00 at the original location on Monk & Allard. I eat at various locations around the city to this day. Today I had lunch at the Allard location. My son had a Buck Burger & I had a Pepper Burger. Both burgers were so badly assembled & falling apart all over the paper before they were picked up & a single bite was taken out of them. We asked the breads to be Dipped/Wet. They were neither dipped nor wet - they were just simply a totally soggy mess - like the bread I soak in milk for my meatball recipe. It was impossible to eat them like a hamburger should be held for eating so we just let everything fall apart on the paper & ate them like popcorn with our hands. Next time that happens, I won't take a bite & won't send it back. I will stick a note on it addressed to the cooks saying'You try eating this mess' & walk out. The cooks working there today at lunch time should be sent to other Dialllo locations to learn how to prepare a burger.
Very terrible service I drove all the way from point Saint Charles to the ville emard location I ordered 2 burgers the exact same 1 grilled chicken burger & 2 buck burgers custom because I don't like the relish & onions there & a medium fry that was over 9$ alone both burgers the same though over 40$ for meal now i get home the burgers are different super soggy so I go all the way back tell them the woman tells me I'm wrong I tell her I will bet her 100$ cash to check the camera that I know what I ordered anyway they say they fix the order they just took the cold beef pattys added to new buns with cold cheese it's still in perfect form anyway lazy & very terrible service I won't be going back & wouldn't recommend to anyone this place won't be here for much longer I'll go to any other burger spot from now on

A temple of popular, traditional cuisine that reflects the inventiveness of immigrants. Humble, tasty burgers, not the industrial fast-food kind.
