Reviewers describe Deli La Trattoria as a standout for wood fired pizza, hearty sandwiches, cannoli and a broad Italian grocery selection, with crusts that are crispy and fillings that are fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and staff are consistently friendly and efficient, even when busy. The menu covers pizza, paninis, desserts and Italian staples, with many noting generous portions, good value and high quality ingredients. Cannoli, pastries and gelato are frequent highlights, and the wood oven pizzas are praised for aroma and a perfect balance of crunch and tenderness. Some mentions of limited seating, small space, and occasional crowding appear, but overall customers feel at home and keep returning for reliable Italian comfort and a friendly neighborhood vibe.
Food was ok....not super but ok....only because I'm used to going to REAL Italian East end bakeries.
So I noticed a family in front of me & they were French speaking but they were greeted & served in english only...
I felt bad for them & decided I was not going back there as my small contributions to what's right
Go try Noninnas in Lachine or Salerno on Charland ave

Your complaint about being on hold got a 20 yr old girl putting herself through university fired. You assumed employee incompetence, but did you ever stop to think that it was ownership incompetence for being severely understaffed?
'Management' missed a teachable moment & fired her without so much as a discussion as to what happened, based solely on your complaint.
I am sure that the keyboard warrior you are didn't stop to think about that.
Your words have real world consequences.
I hope you are happy.
If you want a true taste of Italy, this is the spot to try. A hidden gem in the West Island with authentic, delicious food & a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit! 🇮🇹
Come here for the wood fired pizza & the deli side. Food is always good. Staff always friendly.
On this occasion, young lady at the counter on the pizza side was a little lacking in promptness & organization: I had initially called to place an order for my pizzas - in the car from Beaurepaire & Woodland. She put me on hold. I had time to get there & was still on hold: she had forgotten to take back the line, pretty ordinary since when I got there, there was no clients at all on the pizza side.
Then, I ordered my 2 pizza & 2 tiramisus at the counter. Went on the deli side to buy some stuff... Got back on the other side, got the pizzas, but she forgot to pack my tiramisus, & my bad as well, I forgot to check... Only realized at home that I didn't have them & forgot to check before I left. Would have been pratical that they were prepped with my order ready to go....
Luckily the pizza was good as usual. Service from this young lady not so much....
Tried a brick oven pizza for the first time. Very good pizza all in all. Would definitely recommend, even though I prefer my cheese on top, Canadian style. Definitely five stars & worth the visit.
I want to call this spot a local hidden gem but considering all the great reviews I will just add:
Amazing pizzas
Sandwiches - that chicken cutlet with hot sauce is GOLD
The service, no matter how busy they are always comes with a smile.
Pro tip - ask for some hot sauce to go!
