On Sat/Sundays, when it is sunny...Avoid going as a group. There was slow service bc the location was overbooked by reservations & there were clear signs of disorganisation at the reception, unforntunately.
Upon our arrival, small clusters of groups were waiting outside or inside the entrance despite having a reservation. The team seemed hesistant to clear out tables when previous families or groups were clearly finished eating, which understandably impacts service/tips or this might have been due to missing busboys.
Food wise: Eggs are soft & delicious considering the smaller portions, keep in mind that these eggs are all locally sourced but taste wise we had no complaints, as we could add our salt/pepper/butter/hot sauce ourselves.
The homemade hot sauces & ketchup are GREAT ( complementary to each dishes/needs). Yolks even offers tofu on their menu ( nice surprise) as an alternative for eggs, so everyone is welcome here! All the dishes were good except for the potatoes which were pure oil, their crispy Tots are much better. I recommend the Yolks Breakfast or Benedict your Way for their highly customisable. They use brioche buns for their sandwiches, huge plus! The sides are good too.
Pancakes are AMAZING, so fluffy will not disappoint, I suggest the fruity options with homemade Jam syrup. The cinnamon pancakes were loaded with sugar & pecans, no cinnamon detected yet satisfying regardless because of how pillowy the pancakes are! The stack of pancakes itself was heavily, if anything bring your own maple syrup 💕 As a group most people enjoyed their drinks but watch out for cross contamination Yolks, we were brought milk for our bottomless coffee in open mini containers. Thank you for the food, service during weekends will need to improve but we enjoyed the service from our server! We will come back during the week to fully take in the potential this breakfast restaurant has to offer when it is less busy before 9 am or after 1 pm. 6.9/10 until we return!
Thank you for your hospitality.
Visited for a birthday brunch on a Sunday. It was a very busy morning with a big crowd at the front, & we waited about 30 minutes to be seated.
?The birthday person really enjoyed the chicken & waffles, which was the highlight! However, my own meal (the Eggs Benedict) arrived a bit cold. It seemed like the kitchen was just spread very thin because of the Sunday rush, as it looked like several tables around us were also waiting quite a while for their orders.
?The staff was friendly & the place has a nice vibe, but the food temperature & the long wait for a table made it just an'okay' experience this time. Great potential, but hopefully more consistent during the next rush.
I visited on a Saturday at 11am & it was busy, however the service was great from the beginning. The staff were so kind! I tried the avocado toast & it was pretty good. The eggs were also cooked perfectly to my liking.
The prices are about the same as almost any breakfast place nowadays 😬 but overall I really enjoyed everything here. The fresh orange juice was very good!
Atmosphere was alive & very busy which tells me that it's the breakfast place to be in the area. The service was very good, I would have put 5 stars, but because of whoever washed the coffee cups, I was met with another woman's lipstick on my cup, it survived the wash cycle. I drank from it, but at least it wasn't on the stain itself. My friend noticed it & told said'your lipstick does not match the one on the cup' 😵?💫. Our server promptly replaced my cup & coffee, hence the 4 stars remain. It's my first time ever seeing a restaurant with only 2 ways of cooking eggs, I had to settle with poached eggs. It was quite tasty, I just expected an establishment that specializes in brunch to have over-easy. Aside from that, my experience still deserves a 4 start rating. Will be returning for the atmosphere, the service & those poached eggs.
I've been here 4 times now. The food is soooooo good. I am so glad this opened near my house, my partner & I will become regulars.
The ancho pork Benedict is mouth watering.
The cinnamon roll pancakes are ridiculous.
The smash burgers are soooooo good! Best smash in the West Island right now.
Everything my friends & I & my partner have had has been so tasty & fresh. I will say it is super busy on weekends so less of a wait time during the week for sure :)
Incredible!!!! Go support YOLKS✨
It is very busy for a good reason - a lot of menu options, all fresh & tasty. The service was very fast & friendly, but it can take some time to get a table, coffee is average, but not burned, food was great & plates are decent size. Unfortunately, no reservations during weekends & it's a welcome edition to West Island breakfast scene.
Bright new brunch spot in the west island! I like the build your own breakfast concept it adds a more exciting component to your brunch! But it you're not in the mood for that, they have a wonderful assortment of breakfast & sandwich options to choose from. We got the ancho pork & chicken & waffle bennys, & they were absolutely to die for! The ancho pork benny in particular was the fan favourite amongst my partner & I. The potato options were really nice too as they have a house potato with lemon & truffle (delicious), & classic tater tots which were very nicely seasoned. If chicken & pork aren't to your tastes they do have nice veggie options as well. We also got there at around 12 while it was VERY busy, & were seated withing 15 minutes so that was very much appreciated. I was impressed at how quickly we recieved our food given how busy it was! The only complaint that I have is that their in house spicy ketchup has too much cinnamon, but that is me just being very nitpick-y. Overall a must-try for anyone wanting brunch in the west island! 5/5
