A small bakery window faces a rectangular eating area fronted by a large arch & backed by an even larger window facing St. Jacques street. The menu itself is relatively limited with seven options listed (along with a few sides & whatever is available at the baked good counter at the front), but there is something for everyone...sweet, savory, breakfast item or lunch. For our meal we ordered the Ricotta Pancakes (good but a little on the dry side, although the maple syrup mix at the bottom of the dish was quite nice) & Mushroom Toast (also good, savory & large) coupled with the baked Butter Tart (yummy...you can never go wrong with a butter tart). Service was friendly & efficient with the meal coming out promptly (although we were one of the firsts to get our order in). NOTE: The restaurant opens at 10am & the line starts to build at 9:45am, if not earlier, so if you arrive at around 10:15 then expect to wait 45 minutes until the tables turn & new patrons are cycled through. Enjoy!View more
Upon arriving at the restaurant, my companion & I were warmly greeted by the hostess & promptly seated, although we did have to wait about 40 minutes for a table during the busy lunch rush. However, the friendly service & impeccable attention from the waitstaff made up for the wait. We opted for the avocado breakfast toast & the crispy chicken sandwich. While the avocado toast was delicious, served in a deep plate made it difficult to cut the bread comfortably. I'd suggest they serve it on a flat plate for easier enjoyment. As for the crispy chicken sandwich, it was an absolute delight. The chicken was flavorful, & the crust was soft & easy to eat. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, making it a perfect spot for brunch. Overall, despite a minor inconvenience with the avocado toast plate, I would highly recommend this place for a delightful brunch experience.View more
Brunch was excellent. I will be back for their fried chicken sandwich.View more
Pancakes are god tier here! A must try brunch place in Montreal.View more
Overpriced & small plates- I got pancakes & they were small & not fluffy, what's the point?. Also, long waiting line (can wait 1-2h). NOT WORTH IT. Montreal has too many brunch places to settle for this.View more
Big line up for brunch Food was good I would go backView more
We came here for brunch as we had read about the pancakes. We came on a weekday, so just the standard toppings for the pancakes were available. While we were initially disappointed, when it came out there was nothing to be disappointed about! They were amazing. We would definitely recommend coming here if you're having a craving for some great pancakes. We also had the maple oat latte, which was delish too.View more

Trés bel endroit, belle atmosphère & un brunch qui vaut le coup!View more
Always wanted to try this place for brunch for a couple years since it's "famous", but it's always huge line up outside on weekends. Finally went in recently, but was quite disappointed tbh. The menu is so small & everything is insanely overpriced. They are all very small portion, including the coffee (in a tiny glass cup) without free refill, unlike many other brunch places. Quality is just acceptable. With that price & the small portion, you'd hope the taste would be much higher than it is. Won't go back...View more
I had an initially skeptical but ultimately delightful experience at this restaurant. Despite the cold weather & the possibility of it being a tourist trap, I decided to wait in line based on positive recommendations. Arriving at 11:30 am on a Sunday, I waited for an hour for a table for two. Once seated, everything went smoothly-the server was attentive, & the food arrived promptly. I must say, it was absolutely worth both the wait & the hype. This brunch stands out as one of the best I've had in a while. Even as someone who isn't fond of salads, I found theirs to be exceptional. However, I do have one piece of feedback: the hostess could improve communication & acknowledgment of those waiting in line, especially those outside. It's frustrating to wait without any idea of the wait time or how many people are ahead in line. Overall, an outstanding experience that's worth recommending. Also, it would be great to see more gluten-free options on the menu.View more
Cute place in Old Port. It's wasn't too busy. We got a table the second we got in. I'm not gonna lie I came for the pancakes. I was told they were the boom. Com!!! We had the avocado toast & the pancakes for dessert. Good portions!! As for the pancakes, they were OK. I cant say they were the best I ever 6. The fluffiness was missing for me but overall. It's a good spot for brunchView more
Go early to avoid lines. A wonderful brunch placeView more
Dandy's brunch was fantastic! We shared the pancakes & the chicken sandwich between two people & both dishes were delicious. Good portions & delicious flavours. ThanksView more
View more
Waited & hr to get in. I don’t like to wait. It is worth the wait. Small menu brunch but nice selection to cover every taste. Elegance with taste that is how I can describe the experience from this place. My son chose the venue & it was a great choice. We had several interns plus multi drinks. The dessert here is outstanding. Need to come back again next visit in augustView more
A little bit of waiting since Sundays are busy brunch days, but the service was quite fast when it came to the food, & the portions are like HUGE! 10/10 cute brunch date spot
Great brunch (loved the chia bowl & pancakes) with very kind & professional service. Staff were very accomidating to our group's needs.
Great food, excellent service, comfortable seating, Loud noise level at brunch, but would definitely go again.
Overall pleasant brunch experience. Friendly service. My partner ate well. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich & the bun & slaw were tasty, but my piece of chicken was quite burnt & dry.
Delicious food as we enjoyed potato latke/smoked salmon & ricotta pancakes), excellent service & friendly staff, restaurant is beautiful with big windows & décor, we had a relaxing & fun time! This was my second time dining at Dandy for lunch during the week & weekend brunch & I will definitely come back with my friends.
Fantastic environment & the service was pleasant & quick. The food was excellent. I had the ricotta pancakes & a side order of the best bacon I have ever had! My partner had the buttermilk chicken sandwich that came with homemade potato chips. For better or worse, both plates were empty by the time we were done. A long walk was much needed post brunch! Can't wait to return!
This restaurant is nothing less than exceptional. The food & service are nothing short of 5-star, but at the same time they make you feel like you're over at a friend's place for a intimate meal. We were there for brunch - most of us ordered the pancakes with a side of bacon. I dream about that meal. It was amazing. I wished I lived closer so I could go back for dinner. The reviews caking Dandy one of the best restaurants in Montreal are not exaggerated - if you have a chance definitely have a meal there when you're in town.
