View more
The place opens up at 10 am & glad we made it in time for the last seat at the opening right after there was a super long line of folks waiting to get seated for over 30 mins!!
We tried all their popular ones - ricotta pancakes , mushroom toast & the avocado toast all of them are surprisingly tasty & filling it sure was a good call.View more
Food was great, service was nice. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich & the mushroom toast.View more
Top notch brunch spot. This is the type of place where you should share dishes so you can try more items & mix sweet & savoury. All 3 items we ordered were homeruns: ricotta pancakes with the special garnish, mushroom toast, fingerling potatoes. The mushroom toast is notable. The mushrooms are juicy & flavourful, stacked in a giant pile.View more
The place is really lovely & the staff is great, however, you are paying for a nice place only. My plate & my friend's were dry, nothing worth paying that amount, you could honestly do a better plate yourself easily at home. It was disapointing. We ordered the mushroom toast & the summer Dish. Maybe we should have picked panckakes, it's difficult to go wrong with that.View more
Awesome brunch spot in Montreal... would definitely come here again, whenever back in town. Food: Mushroom Toast - 5/5 I ordered the mushroom toast, & everyone at my table looked at it with admiration as it arrived at the table. Did I share a few bites? Yes... but did I want to? No. Just kidding, but it really is that good if you like mushrooms.. don't think twice! Pancakes - 4/5 - I really liked these, but I did think these were a little overhyped, wouldn't necessarily get it again with the mushroom toast as a different option on the menu.. the party I was with did all really like them though. Service - 5/5 - The waiter we had, I believe an Indian man, was so patient & helpful. Our table was quite rowdy in the restaurant, ordering shots during brunch & being loud, but he was so patient, kind, & helpful... hats off to this guy for dealing with all of us, haha. Ambiance - 4/5 - Nice atmosphere, & we got a round table, which was nice because we were all able to face each other & chat... it actually made a big difference, because I was meeting some people for the first time here, & I noticed that key difference with ease of socializing. Overall, great place!View more
Service was friendly, attentive, & efficient. Place is designed to look spacious which is nice. Food was good but nothing special, especially for the price. I would say the cocktails are the highlight. My sister was of the same opinion for her food. Sausage roll could be better seasoned, mushroom toast was good but a little sweet for some reason, lots of mushrooms though which was great. Presentation could be better, putting the egg on top everytime doesn't make for the best photos. My sister got the fried chicken sandwich & she felt it was just alright, & I agree from the piece I tasted. The pistachio matcha drink initially tasted mostly like Bailey's. Make sure to mix in the pistachio topping to get the full experience which was delicious. Tiramisu latte with Kahlua was great. They do not skimp on the Kahlua.View more
Sept 2024 -Didnt like it. ordered chicken sandwich, ricotta pancake & breakfast avocado toast. All were OK. Food is overrated. Ambiance is good though. Coffee was OK too.View more
Food is good but def not worth the wait. Just your normal overpriced brunch items (we are talking an avocado toast for $22 CAD). Nothing too special. What made us uncomfortable to give it a better rating is the service. Not sure if it's because we didn't speak French or looked like tourists. We found our server to be not attentive. Our server took our drink order & then was no where to be found. We had to try very hard to fly him down. The table next to us were seated after us but got their order & food way faster (We didn't get our food until they were almost done).View more
I've been to this restaurant twice & I want so desperately to like it, but it always just misses the mark for me. The first time, I tried their Ricotta Pancakes, not realizing the seasonal fruits are an extra charge! Overall, the pancakes were okay, but not as amazing as I expected them to be. Bacon is another extra charge & tasteless, which made for $7 down the drain. I also arrived as soon as they opened at 10am on the weekend & there was a bit of a wait, with a line out the door. The second time I went, I tried the Endless Summer Breakfast, which I enjoyed more than the pancakes. The seasoning on the avocado was absolutely delicious. The toast was a bit too hard for my liking, but the rest of the plate was lovely. This time, on a weekday around noon, there was no line. Both times, the wait to receive food after ordering was about 15 minutes long, enough time to chat but a bit too long for my tastes. Dandy is pricey, no doubt about it. If you want food & a drink each, you're looking about an $80 bill for two people.View more
The ricotta pancakes with strawberry were absolutely delicious - light, fluffy, & bursting with flavor. They were definitely the highlight of my meal. The mushroom toast & crispy smashed potatoes were also quite good, though I'd say they were more in the average range compared to the pancakes.View more
Spectacular breakfast. We devoured it so quickly we didn't get very good pictures... lol. The depth of flavor on the pancakes, with the browned butter & maple syrup, were incredible. Pancakes were moist & fluffy. The strawberries were delicious--definitely worth it. The mushroom toast was unbelievable. I've never seen a restaurant go so hard on a mushroom dish. This toast was sauced generously, & piled high with fungi. The egg on top was perfect, too. Wow.View more
Amazing food. The mushroom toast is to die for. The lemonade was also amazing. Fried chicken burger lives up to its hype.View more
We celebrated Mother's Day with a delightful brunch at this restaurant, choosing from a spread that included Mushroom Toast, Ricotta Pancakes, & the Endless Summer Breakfast, with extra Crispy Bacon ordered at an additional cost. Each dish was beautifully prepared, & the uniquely unsalty, beef jerky-like bacon, though pricier, was definitely worth trying. The quality of the food & the warm, friendly service from the staff made our special day even more enjoyable.View more
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ friendly & amazing service; lovely, cozy ambiance & decor; delicious (I mean yummy) food (mushroom toast 🤤) & by far one (actually 2) of the best espresso martinis I've had! You gotta go!View more
Highly recommend mushroom toast!! It's worth the long line for weekend brunchView more
A beautiful spot! I've been here a few times & my favorite items are the super yummy salad, the ricotta pancakes, & the mushroom toast. This place is a must visit in Old Montreal.View more
Dandy is a super popular breakfast/brunch resto in Old Montreal that fills up very, very quickly. A small bakery window faces a rectangular eating area fronted by a large arch & backed by an even larger window facing St. Jacques street. The menu itself is relatively limited with seven options listed (along with a few sides & whatever is available at the baked good counter at the front), but there is something for everyone...sweet, savory, breakfast item or lunch. For our meal we ordered the Ricotta Pancakes (good but a little on the dry side, although the maple syrup mix at the bottom of the dish was quite nice) & Mushroom Toast (also good, savory & large) coupled with the baked Butter Tart (yummy...you can never go wrong with a butter tart). Service was friendly & efficient with the meal coming out promptly (although we were one of the firsts to get our order in). NOTE: The restaurant opens at 10am & the line starts to build at 9:45am, if not earlier, so if you arrive at around 10:15 then expect to wait 45 minutes until the tables turn & new patrons are cycled through. Enjoy!View more
Upon arriving at the restaurant, my companion & I were warmly greeted by the hostess & promptly seated, although we did have to wait about 40 minutes for a table during the busy lunch rush. However, the friendly service & impeccable attention from the waitstaff made up for the wait. We opted for the avocado breakfast toast & the crispy chicken sandwich. While the avocado toast was delicious, served in a deep plate made it difficult to cut the bread comfortably. I'd suggest they serve it on a flat plate for easier enjoyment. As for the crispy chicken sandwich, it was an absolute delight. The chicken was flavorful, & the crust was soft & easy to eat. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, making it a perfect spot for brunch. Overall, despite a minor inconvenience with the avocado toast plate, I would highly recommend this place for a delightful brunch experience.View more
Cute place in Old Port. It's wasn't too busy. We got a table the second we got in. I'm not gonna lie I came for the pancakes. I was told they were the boom. Com!!! We had the avocado toast & the pancakes for dessert. Good portions!! As for the pancakes, they were OK. I cant say they were the best I ever 6. The fluffiness was missing for me but overall. It's a good spot for brunchView more
It's worth every penny. I promise if you go there to start your day you will have an excellent day. The chicken sandwich with egg was incredibly well seasoned & juicy, & the avocado sourdough toast with egg & tzatziki salad had some incredible flavors that I didn't seem possible for such a seemingly basic dish. Really happy I went here, I would eat here every day if I could.View more
Pretty basic toast & fried egg breakfast. Not really worth the wait or price for what we had.View more
Great brunch—very much enjoyed the shakshuka toast & my mimosa. My companion enjoyed the ricotta pancakes. Beautifully designed restaurant & great crowd.
