We love Syrian cuisine, so we thought we'd give this place a try. We went for the full Decouverte menu (11 servings). We are far from picky eaters, but I'm surprised why this restaurant got 4.7 stars. Service & atmosphere was great, the food though, very poor. I didn't finish most of my plates & left with a $450 bill with no alcohol. Unfortunately a no-go for me.
The meze menu items & some of the mains were very tasty, but not all items hit the mark. Was very busy & hence a bit slow between appetizers & main menu. Servers were nice.

Went for my birthday & it was a superb experience. Highly recommend the tasting menu, it's very generous & it makes you taste a little bit of everything! Service was great, our waiter was super kind & knowledgeable & the bussers always kept our water glasses full & cleaned our table between each plate. Excellent cocktails too!
Je ne sais pas par où commencer tellement j'ai de bonnes choses à dire! Premièrement WOW! J'ai eu le privilège d'être présente au BRUNCH aujourd'hui pour l'anniversaire d'une grande amie à moi. J'ai été charmé par l'endroit avec une décoration sublime, une ambiance intime pour l'occasion mais surtout un service IMPECCABLE, le serveur était professionnel, il nous a fait d'excellentes recommandations! Je peux dire que nous avons été servis avec excellence. La nourriture? WOW WOW WOW! C'était d'une fraîcheur inouïe. Une belle découverte de saveurs & des présentations alléchante. J'ai adoré mon expérience & je recommande vivement ce restaurant. Réserve tôt pour des grand groupe ;-)
Food is not as I've imagined, maybe I'm not used to it, but I love their fattouch & bread including their dips (hummus, baba ghanoush, etc.) are amazing. I didn't love the meat because Syrian or arabic meat usually season it with something distinct to the culture that I'm not a fan of, maybe it's cummmin or something else. The fish though is superb! & their ice cream pistachio is heaven.
Had an absolutely amazing meal here ! The food has so much flavour; my personal favourites were the fattoush salad, the hummus, labneh & the pita. The pita bread had a slight hint of honey to it; might have been the best pita I have ever had. It is a beautifully designed restaurant that was buzzing with a great energy. The service was seamless & their every attention to detail took it up a notch. Big shout out to our waiter, Theo, who was excellent & very attentive & friendly. We will be recommending this restaurant to all of our friends & looking forward to coming back ourselves !
Très bon restaurant mais vraiment trop cher, ne vaut pas le prix. Nous avons beaucoup trop commandé sans que jamais la serveuse nous le dise. Nous ne le recommandons pas.
This is my favourite restaurant in Montreal. Whether it's for casual dinners or business meetings, I'm always able to impress my guest with their delicious food & great ambiance! The meat platter is always my go-to!
Visited Damas with high expectations, but left disappointed. Cold mezzas were decent, meat platter lacked flavor. Overpriced for the quality. Service was pleasant, & ambiance nice, but overall didn't live up to the hype
Gros restaurant l'esbroufe qui se veut incomparable. C'est un peu le défaut de l'esprit québécois qui a tendance à glorifier la restauration autre que celle qui existe sur place. Je dis ça sans aucune animosité. J'adore ce peuple sympathique & accueillant. Mais faire avec de la cuisine libanaise ou syrienne c'est du pareil au même, qui est une excellente cuisine avec des saveurs sympathiques. Mais en faire une cuisine hors pair, il y a tout un monde. Sans oublier que les prix des plats sont très exagérés.
We had a wonderful time at Damas! We had a reservation & were seated in a circular table right in the corner of the restaurant with a ton of windows which was wonderful. We ordered family style & had Mercedes as our server. She was the best! She gave great recommendations & made our 3 girls feel like royalty. We ordered steak, chicken, fatoush salad, fries & rice. Delish!!! I would strongly recommend anyone to eat at this restaurant as the food is fantastic & the service as well.
C'était la 3e fois que j'allais chez Damas & à chaque fois, c'est génial. Hier soir, c'était tout simplement sublime. Nous avons pris le menu dégustation avec l'accord de vins d'exception. Tout était délicieux, moi qui croyait ne pas aimer le loup de mer & l'agneau, j'ai tout mangé avec enthousiasme & sans appréhension. On est entre de bonnes mains, la cuisson était impeccable, tout comme les saveurs. Là où Damas se distingue encore, c'est l'importance accordée au service. Tout était bien orchestré, très professionnel & chaleureux. Merci à toute l'équipe pour une soirée mémorable!
