The food itself, is a far cry for me, from fine dining. Everything tastes decent but it was neither better nor more innovative than a really high quality Syrian restaurant that is 1/4 of the price. It was $400 for 3 people without alcohol. The only standout dish was the octopus. The lamb kebab from the charcoal grill was the only dish that was actually bad. The sauces & accompaniments were good but it was cooked poorly.
Admittedly, this is my cuisine so I am more critical, but in Toronto there is Byblos which elevates regular Mediterranean & I was hoping for a similar experience. Even the desserts were run of the mill, nothing innovative or interesting. They need to be elevated at a place like this.
Unfortunately I would not come again despite good service.
Very different experience from our other visits.
Our first three choices from the wine list were not available. Then we were given the bottom of a bottle from the previous night & we had to return it.
Several items on the menu were also missing; notably common items like fries & rice.
The fattoush was very ordinary & the shish taouk portion was smaller & served with bland potatoes.
Twice now we have been very disappointed; won't be going back any time soon.
Almost feels like a change of management?

EXCELLENT brunch. Je suis déjà venue pour le souper aussi. Le brunch est un moyen à plus petit prix d'accéder à la cuisine exceptionnelle du Damas. Je recommande vivement!
Probably my favourite restaurant in Montreal. Stand outs were the Rack of lamb, & lamb dumplings (Shish Borek). Even the ice cream with cotton candy was unique & memorable. Service was impeccable. Rack of lamb took awhile to come out but not an issue given how good the food was. Highly recommend
Way too over priced & overhyped. Similar & better food at other restaurants in Montreal like Kaza Maza. They also emptied a bottle of wine & finished the glass from a second bottle in same glass which is not acceptable especially at an'upscale' restaurant. Would definitely not come back or recommend.

Such an amazing place! My first time & I enjoyed very much ☺? From come in inside you can see stylish decorations. Professional & friendly stuff helping with the choice,explaining clearly all ingredients 👌 & such am amazing dishes 😋 Definitely will come again ,i enjoyed my time there.
Not even close to what they used to serve when they were on Park Ave. The love that you could once taste in their food has now faded into high volume, high-priced fare built on a past reputation. There are better options available.
Sadly, Damas has been relegated to one of the many restaurants where you go to be seen, but don't go for the cuisine.
J'ai connu le Damas sur du Parc il y a 15 ans. C'était un resto absolument mémorable avec des plats savoureux un personnel chaleureux & courtois. Très dommage de voir ce resto perdre son cachet. Aujourd'hui c'est à plus grande échelle & la qualité n'y est plus. Très déçu de n'avoir plus de choix de poissons. Le repas était ordinaire & pas comme avant. Nous n'avions pas de couteaux à steak pour des grillades. On en a demandé mais ce fut une longue attente & le repas était froid. Le serveur ne semblait pas connaître la carte des vins & le service médiocre. Un resto dans cette catégorie de prix doit faire mieux pour garder sa clientèle.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. Due to a power outage on Saturday, our reservation was first pushed back by 30 minutes & then ultimately cancelled. While we understand that a power outage is out of the restaurant's control, the lack of customer service & willingness to resolve the situation was frustrating!
We had driven down from up north specifically for this reservation, yet there was no real effort to accommodate us, provide clear updates or offer alternatives. Communication was poor, & we were left waiting with no clear direction before the reservation was cancelled altogether…
Unexpected issues happen, but how they're handled matters. A bit of empathy, proactive communication, or an attempt to make things right would have gone a long way especially given the distance we traveled. Sadly, that was missing here, & it left us with a very negative impression of the restaurant & management.

J'y suis allée avec ma fille pour fêter son anniversaire. Nous avons pris le menu dégustation au brunch. La nourriture était délicieuse bien présentée & que dire du service hors paire. J'y retournerai à tout les jours tellement c'est délicieux.
Quelle expérience incroyable, la nourriture tout simplement délicieuse, la présentation des plats, beauté pour les yeux, & que dire du service reçu qui était parfait, les conseils tout au long du repas, je recommande à tout le monde cette expérience culinaire.
I've gone here for valentines, birthdays, date nights & more - it is by far my favourite restaurant in the city!
Cannot recommend the tasting with wine pairing enough, & if you don't want a full course, we've always had amazing custom menus made by waitress Karin that pair beautifully together for an amazing meal.
Absolutely amazing service from everyone. Especially our server, Nick. Extremely knowledgeable & they truly know what they're doing. Every plate we tried was wonderful
Experience 4D!! Food & drinks pairing was perfection. Food was amazing. The lantern lights on the sailing added a beautiful cozy touch. Respectfully, we had a visual diversify waiters butt experience between courses that added to our experience.
EXTREMELY OVERPRICED, SMALL PORTIONS, nothing special, big hype for nothing. Go to Karoun you get more food better taste & much less expensive, Service was great tho I have to say, other than, not worth 393$ for two people
Overall it was a negative experience but I will break it down:
The service was fantastic. All the staff from the lady who checked us in to our server were very accommodating & friendly. They explained the food options & took care of us. However, everything else about our experience was bad.
The food was average. Nothing special. The server highly recommended the tasting menu so that is what we ordered. Unfortunately that was the wrong decision. All the serving sizes were small. The taste was ok. It was overhyped by the server so we thought it was going to be good but we did not like it. You get the same food at a regular supermarket.
The restaurant was noisy & very dimly lit. Everyone around us was using their phone flashlight to look at the menu. We had the same urge but we knew it was too distracting so we resisted it.
The worst part & the thing that ruined our night was the bill. It was unbelievably expensive. Way to high & not worth the experience we received. It was insanely overpriced & we just felt tricked.
$200+ per person is insane. Google Reviews does not even have that option in its system haha. The maximum you can tap is'$100+' & we had to pay more than twice that amount for a bad experience.
