We had dinner for two here & were apprehensive about price when looking at their online menu. Every dish we had was beautifully presented & was made with fresh & savory ingredients. Service was very attentive & unrushed. Seating was comfortable & environment very inviting. Yes this meal with be more expensive than at the average middle eastern restaurant in Montreal, but this is most certainly not your average middle eastern restaurant by any means.
Our recent dining experience at Damas, a renowned Syrian restaurant in Montreal, was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported to the Middle East through the restaurant's stunning ambiance, rich aromas, & a symphony of flavors that left an unforgettable impression. Food & Drinks The quality of the food at Damas is simply exceptional. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the perfect balance of spices, fresh ingredients, & authentic Syrian flavors. The taste & aromas were exquisite, & we found ourselves savoring every bite. It was impossible to pick a favorite dish as each one seemed to outshine the last. The non-alcoholic beverages were equally delightful, crafted with care & offering unique flavor profiles that complemented the meal perfectly. Service The service at Damas was equally impressive. Our waiter was approachable, welcoming, & genuinely kind, making us feel right at home. What stood out most was the attentiveness of the entire staff. They circled the tables frequently, ensuring our glasses of water were always refilled & our bread basket was constantly replenished. The hosts were also lovely & attentive, escorting us to our table with warmth & professionalism. Atmosphere The atmosphere at Damas is vibrant, spacious, & beautifully decorated. Each section of the restaurant has its own unique vibe, allowing guests to find the perfect setting to match their mood. This thoughtful design added to the overall experience, making it even more memorable. Room for Improvement While our experience inside the restaurant was flawless, the surrounding area felt a bit off-putting. The streets outside were noticeably dirty, & we felt slightly unsafe as we arrived. It's surprising that such a beautiful & well-run establishment is situated in this particular location, as it feels out of place. That said, once inside, all concerns melted away, & the restaurant provided a stunning escape. Overall Damas is a culinary gem that offers an authentic & unforgettable Syrian dining experience. The exceptional food, attentive service, & vibrant ambiance are unmatched. Despite the challenges with the surrounding area, we will undoubtedly be returning to this fantastic restaurant. Absolutely delicious from start to finish!
This was our first time trying Syrian food. We got the tasting menu & the staff very graciously accommodated the dietary restrictions of my partner while making sure we had a great experience. There was so much food that we felt extremely full at the end of the evening. Take your time, & enjoy the delicious adventure!
First time just try the tasting menu. Stand out items was fish & lamb chops. Enjoyed everything, lots of complex flavors. Can't wait to go back. Will definitely get the lamb chops & fish.

Un seul regret : ne pas avoir pu tout goûter... Damas est un grand restaurant où l'on vient, puis on revient. Cuisine impeccable, fine & savoureuse. Bravo !
WOW. I mean truly - WOW! I have had very few meals that have been this extraordinary. From beginning to end, every dish was fantastic. We just did an ala carte experience. But wow, really well spiced, really tasty. Could not have asked for a better meal! The fattoush salad was to die for, I love fattoush salad, so this is going to ruin my experience anywhere else I get it. The labneh was good, the pita was just so fresh & warm & nice. The falafel salad was DELICIOUS & the chicken taouk was so juicy & scrumptious. I just wish I had room for dessert because all of the desserts sounded so good. Truly an amazing meal. I would suggest this to anyone in Montreal. GO HERE. You must! The inside was huge, well decorated.I mean just truly fantastic.
Pour mon anniversaire, mon conjoint m'a fait la surprise de m'amener au restaurant Damas, & ça a été un vrai coup de coeur, autant pour lui que pour moi ! Étant une grande amatrice de cuisine syrienne, j'étais ravie de découvrir un endroit où les saveurs authentiques sont si bien mises en valeur. La nourriture était non seulement délicieuse, mais aussi incroyablement fraîche, & chaque plat était un plaisir pour les sens. Le service a été impeccable du début à la fin, avec un personnel attentif qui a contribué à rendre cette soirée spéciale. Un grand merci à l'équipe du Damas pour cette belle expérience ! Nous y reviendrons sans hésiter.

I've eaten here a few times & it is still one of my favourite restaurants of all times. I am celiac so tasting menus can be difficult sometimes. Damas was able to accommodate & we were a walk-in. Everything was delicious. Ambiance is great. I can't wait to go back!
great food in bigger portions than expected, & particularly liked that the waiter told us it might be a lot of food for the two of us, rather than force upsell & then have food thrown out.
Bel endroit avec une ambiance unique. Excellent service. Les plats sont classiques mais savoureux. C'est toutefois très cher & manque un peu de créativité & d'originalité pour le prix.

Parfaite soirée entre filles pour un anniversaire! Le service était impeccable, le personnel est attentionné & professionnel. La carte des alcools est varié, tout autant que le menu. Je recommanderai ce restaurant les yeux fermés, peu importe votre palette de gout, & même votre diète.
Restaurant delicieux qui nous transporte ailleurs. Tout est très goûteux. Il faut cependant réserver d'avance car très achalandé. Jamais déçue!!! Sans compter Folfol de l'autre côté de la rue pour le take-out Damas.
Excellent restaurant, perhaps our number 1 in the city. I'd say it's underrated how incredible the service, food, & atmosphere is. Just go enjoy the ride!
