I've always considered this restaurant an amazing place, & it has been one of our go-to spots for celebrating important occasions. In the past, everything has been excellent. However, during today, I felt quite uncomfortable with the service.
I had to pay for parking, & from the time we parked until we had only just finished our meal, it had been only 1 hour & 10 minutes. Despite this, the server rushed us to pay while my friend was still in the middle of eating, which I found unacceptable.
Additionally, throughout the meal, we felt ignored. Even when we asked for assistance, it was difficult to get the server's attention. This lack of attentiveness made the overall experience disappointing.
After the meal, I still chose to leave a tip out of respect for the kitchen team. However, I do not feel that the level of service we received reflected the standard that would normally justify it. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing service experiences I've had.
Worst service we've ever experienced!
The employees didn't respond when we greeted them or even when they asked us questions, they simply turned away right after we answered.
We only asked for a banchan refill once, which seems completely reasonable, but they appeared annoyed & ignored us for the rest of the meal.
We finished eating in about an hour, & while I was still chewing, the server started clearing everything off the table without asking & then rushed us to pay, even though it was only 8 pm. We felt pressured to leave.
It's disappointing because we used to come here every month for Korean BBQ for the meat quality. It was one of our go to spots for gatherings & celebrations, but the service has consistently gone down each time we've visited.

An amazing, authentic Korean barbecue spot in the center of downtown Montreal! Daldongnae has very high quality meats & lots of unlimited banchan to enjoy while you feast. Keep in mind that you do have to cook your own meats, but the servers are still very attentive if you need anything. The seafood pancake here was also quite tasty-crispy & filled with a variety of ingredients. If you're craving a classic Korean meat marathon, definitely check out Daldongnae!
Had a really great experience at Daldongnae Korean BBQ in Montreal. The quality of the meat definitely stood out compared to other Korean BBQ spots I've tried.
The service was also excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, & quick to help without being overbearing, which made the whole dining experience smooth & enjoyable.
Très bin tous les accompagnements sont gratuit & à volonté. Il faut acheter une viande par personne. Nous étions 4 & avons prix 4 viande & c'était suffisant. Environs 40-50$ par personne pour notre visite avec du soju/biere. Pas de dessert sur place, un moins lorsqu'on vient pour un anniversaire.
Overall a tasty & fun place for dinner! As a pescatarian, I greatly enjoyed the shrimps, eggs & corn-cheese. The side dishes are very varied, tasted authentic, & were nicely spiced. The sauces are flavourful yet light which is wonderful. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a bit more seafood options, perhaps calamari as another option for grilling. Great vibes & they have a pull-down grill ventilator to get most of the grilling smoke out!
We came here as last resort since the other bbq shops were full but we're surprised at how good this place is. This is like the staple of kbbq in canada, everyone knows this place.
We ordered 2 types of meat (1 pork, 1 beef) & it came with so many other side dishes & soup. The layout of the grill is so unique, with very delicious egg stew & cheese & corn. The soybean paste stew was also amazing as it paired well with the meats. They gave us a bit of lettuce but I wish they gave us more. Sauces were provided too.
Overall would definitely come back here.

Everything was great! The staff was really sweet. One of the servers accidentally dropped some dishes on the table but he offered us free drinks to make up for it. I've been here multiple times already & the experience is always amazing:)
Tried it for the first time last weekend. Waiters provide quick service. The banchan are delicious. The alcohol is great, the popsicle cocktail is a genius idea. Also, pretty irrelevant, but was very happy to hear Ateez playing😁
Very bad management team. As soon as i finished eating, the bill came. I asked to split the bill, they said we have no time to do that many in line. I was there for less than 1.5 hours, the duration is 2 hours per reservation, he insisted on us leaving before our 2 hours. He also came to me saying'are you serious bro?' Cause i wanted to stay 10 more mins more than my 1 hour. I could have stayed another hour as per the rules of reservation stated on site. He also came & told me if i dont leave now hell put me on the blacklist. What a shame, & guess what? It is the manager.
That is very bad. I do not recommend this place
Everything was to perfection. This was a new experience for me. Me & my 2 friends enjoy every moment of it. Food was delicious, we got an amazing explanation, as well. Highly recommend going here.
Bonne experience, bon rapport qualité/prix. Les portions de viande sont bonnes. Les à côtes sont « à volonté » au moins 2fois. C'est un endroit propre & le decor interessant
Honestly, the place was beautiful & cozy. I had a really interesting culinary experience & got to try dishes I'd never had before. I never expected to like a cucumber salad so much, I did my research & it's called Oi muchim (Well that sure was good!) The only downside was that it was a bit pricey, & by the end, I was still a little hungry, lol. My friend was full though, so I guess it really depends on the person… we ended up stopping at McDonald's after, just for me😅
Side note: I tried the beef tartare, & it wasn't really for me. I usually like tartare, but this one felt almost frozen - not sure if it's supposed to be that way.
