Located in a beautiful Victorian dwelling in the heart of Montreal, Ristorante Da Vinci offers its guests elegant and warm surroundings.
From its magnificent mahogany staircase to its high ceilings and natural fireplaces and its private salon to its appetizing antipasto and dessert display, Da Vinci will rejoice both your eyes and your palate.
To compliment your meal, an extensive list of wines from 20 regions of Italy is offered. Before turning to dessert, walnuts are offered to accompany the wine. Then it's time for some classic Italian sweets or a few novelties such as the duo of iced mousse, dark chocolate and amaretto !
Da Vinci is described as an elegant, welcoming Italian restaurant with attentive service and a refined atmosphere that suits romantic dinners as well as private events. The dining experience is frequently praised for friendly, attentive staff and thoughtful touches, including private rooms and even celebratory extras, with plenty of praise for the warm welcome. The menu is noted for classic Italian fare and well-prepared options like pasta Bolognese, mushroom risotto, seafood dishes, and prime meats; many find flavors strong and ingredients fresh, though a few reviewers consider some dishes or overall value average and the prices high. Ambience is repeatedly highlighted as sophisticated and pleasant, with conversations easy to have and not overly loud; a downstairs private room is cited as ideal for functions. Practical notes include valet parking and other service details, while one review mentions a non-functioning TV during a visit. Overall, Da Vinci emerges as a top-tier destination for service, atmosphere, and quality ingredients, though some feel the cost is steep and experiences can vary.
Your Valentine's menu was honestly very disappointing. It was never mentioned anywhere on your website that the evening would be a fixed menu, which was frustrating in itself.
We were seated for about 45 minutes for what was supposed to be a three-course meal, which made the entire experience feel rushed & poorly thought out. The portion sizes were shockingly small for the price paid. I genuinely couldn't help but laugh when I saw one Brussels sprout & one carrot on my plate.
This was meant to be a special evening, & I was genuinely embarrassed for choosing your restaurant for Valentine's Day. The experience did not reflect the level of quality or care one would expect.
Elegant ambiance & genuinely Italian cuisine at Da Vinci Restaurant: homemade pasta & top-quality ingredients shine in every bite, & the service is attentive & welcoming

Da Vinci Ristorante is, without question, one of the finest Italian restaurants in the city, delivering an unforgettable dining experience that blends authentic cuisine with impeccable service. From the moment we stepped into the elegant yet warm ambiance, we were transported to the heart of a traditional Italy cuisine.
The highlight of my evening was the rack of lamb (picturef), cooked to absolute perfection, tender, juicy, & bursting with flavor, with a rosemary infused crust that elevated every bite. My meal began with the salmon tartare starter, a delightful symphony of fresh, velvety salmon, accented with zesty citrus & delicate spices, a true testament to Da Vinci's commitment to quality ingredients.
The service was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was attentive, warm, & genuinely invested in making our evening special. The atmosphere, with its sophisticated yet cozy vibe, made it the ideal setting for a memorable night out with my wife, brother-in-law & sister-in-law.
Da Vinci Ristorante is a gem that exceeds expectations, offering world-class Italian fare & hospitality that leaves you eager to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a culinary experience that's as heartfelt as it is exquisite.
We were a group of four ladies who went to Montreal from Sherbrooke for a concert. Since the concert was an Italian opera singer & it was one of my friends birthdays we decided to have Italian! This restaurant was perfect!! The staff were all SO nice! Our waiter was able to answer all of our questions & made recommendations that were delicious!! They were very accommodating for our group & the food was DELICIOUS!!!! I only give it 5 stars because I can't give it 10!
Summer 2025
I am editing this to update as we went back to this restaurant last night. It was an incredible dinner again & the service was still outstanding. (We even had the same waiter!). We were a group of 5 this time & it was even more enjoyable. We used the valet parking this time which was very helpful to not have to worry about that. & it was really convenient!! Make a reservation beforehand though. I had the same dessert, they had changed the menu a little bit & the thing that I ordered last time wasn't on it anymore. I asked the waiter & he said oh let me recommend this, & he did & it was delicious. Even my picky husband was super satisfied & left not one bite of food on his plate!! You won't find a better place for service, quality of food, or atmosphere. If you are in Montreal you should definitely make this a place that you eat!!
The prices were pretty high for the quality of the food. The squid wasn't cooked properly, & spending $300 for two appetizers & two main courses without any wine seemed a bit much.
This is a amazing place with great ambiance which makes me go back again again . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in a heart beat who is looking to enjoy great food . Not only the quality of the food , the hospitality is above & beyond. I give this restaurant a 5 start rating all the way!!!
This restaurant has become one of my favorites, the food quality & service is top notch.
We were a large group & everyone was extremely satisfied.
Appetizers were all good, the veal Carpaccio was tender & tasty, the caprice with mozzarella Di Bufala was the freshest I’ve ever tasted.
Main courses also received rave reviews from everyone. The veal ossobuco with risotto was amazing, roasted veal, grilled lamb chops, seafood linguini, shrimp & crab dish all received top honors from our friends.
The service was beyond reproach, our waiter “Carlo” was always available & made some amazing recommendations on both food & wine. Rarely do you see service this good, he must have years of experience & it really shows in the confident matter exhibited.
Decor could use an update, but still very nice & classically decorated, has not changed in many years.
Price wise, it is expensive, with wine tip & tax, approx $250 per couple, but well worth it for this level of food quality & service.
I would highly recommend it.
