Crêperie du Marché is described as a lively Breton inspired spot inside Jean Talon Market, offering a wide range of gluten free and buckwheat galettes alongside many savory and sweet crepes made to order. Reviewers praise fresh ingredients, delicate fillings, and generous portions that feel satisfying, with many mentioning the option to customize fillings and to enjoy vegan or vegetarian choices. Friendly and efficient staff are repeatedly highlighted, keeping service fast even when the market is busy and lines are long. Some notes point to a higher price point and occasional crepes that are a touch burnt or overly salty, but most consider the quality and variety to justify it. Overall, Crêperie du Marché stands out in the market for its authentic Breton flair, reliable gluten free offerings, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a go-to stop for both locals and visitors.
Visit the bustling Jean Talon Market on a lively weekend! Indulge in a delicious savory crepe or, if you're feeling playful, treat yourself to a sweet one. Though it can get busy, the lines move swiftly, making it a perfect spot to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
This place is an absolute gem in Jean-Talon Market. The crêpes were beyond incredible, perfectly thin, delicate, & filled with so much flavor that every bite felt special. You can tell the ingredients are fresh & thoughtfully chosen.
What stood out just as much as the food was the staff. They are genuinely some of the kindest people I've ever met in a restaurant, warm, welcoming, & attentive. Their friendliness made the whole experience even more memorable.
If you're at Jean-Talon Market, do yourself a favor & stop here. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, this spot will absolutely exceed your expectations. Easily one of the best food experiences I've had in Montreal.
Delicious crepes! The portions are great & the loved the savoury crepe. Very tasty & a fun atmosphere to sit in the market & eat. Would definitely eat here again!
Passed by many times visiting the JT market but finally stopped to try the crepes with some family visiting from out of town & I must say that I am happy to have finally tried it! All 3 of the buckwheat crepes that we ordered were delicious & freshly made to order. The menu midi is also a better bang for your buck (including soup or salad, crepe & a drink). The staff were also very nice & helpful.
When ever i am planing to go to the market there, i always have a room in my stomac for a healthy breakfast, i take the savoury version, i tried them all with the extras because even if they display different names but i found they are at the end the same when i omit the salmon one. Overall i recommand.
The crepes were delicious. My daughter is celiac & she enjoyed them. Coffee was good too. After this we went across the market to buy a chestnut buttercream since it was so yummy
Decided to spend some time at the Jean Talon Market. Had brunch at the crepe du Marche & all I say is wow!! Kitchen staff were happy when preparing our food (open kitchen), service was very attentive & the food outstanding. Had the ham, egg & cheese crepe & my wife had the smoked salmon & egg crepe. A must try if you visit Montreal.
This place makes slightly leaner crepes, opting for the buckwheat which I'm a fan of. I enjoy the texture of these crepes. The food is great & the price is fair enough. However the seating is very close together. When it gets busy you have people on either side of you within inches of your elbows, not the msot comfortable eating experience. But to be fair it is in a market setting. Service was fantastic.

Dedicated gluten free restaurant. We ate crepes & they were to die for. It it wasn't because they forgot about our order & we had to wait over an hour for our meat the rating would have been much better. The place is located in a small charming market but there is no charm about the place.
We came here as a stop for lunch during a trip back from Tremblant as one of the members of our party has a gluten sensitivity. The people running the stand were incredibly accommodating & assuring of our allergies & sensitivities. The buckwheat crepes were fantastic. They are not like normal crepes & have a fantastic crunch & texture on the edges. I personally had the Oessant & it was fantastic. The market here also has a lot to offer to a great place to stop.
Came here to try the crepes, they were really good. You need to order the food then wait for a space to sit, as it gets very busy, once you finish eating you leave & carry on with the adventures in the market. We tried one sweet (Rougemont) & savoury (Brest) crepe. We weren't disappointed, they were flavourful & we enjoyed them. Would recommend coming here to try a crepe.
Go for: deceptively large buckwheat crepes filled with combinations of breakfast foods you didn't know you needed in your life, but you do. Avoid if: You have a hard time with crowds, noise, & plates of crepes & coffees being carried to tables around you at a high rate of speed. Something surprising: Despite having a long line & orders flying out of the kitchen, multiple staff members stopped by each table throughout the meal to have a short conversation & ensure everyone was enjoying the food. Reservation needed? No, counter service only Overall Experience: 4/5. An actual farm-to-table breakfast experience in one of the best public markets in the world.
