Reviewers describe Côba Sushi as a standout destination with fresh, creative sushi, high quality ingredients, and masterful presentation. The atmosphere is consistently praised as cozy, romantic, and inviting, with moody lighting and warm service that makes guests feel welcome every time. Staff are generally praised for friendliness and professionalism, and many diners note reliable kitchen execution and thoughtful chef selections. Dishes such as truffle tuna, wagyu, toro, sashimi and inventive rolls are frequently cited as exceptional, with the overall experience described as among the best sushi in Montreal. Value is seen as solid when quality is weighed against price, though a few guests feel portions are small or prices are high for what is served. A minority report slower service or longer waits and occasional variability in pacing, but most reviews emphasize a memorable, high quality dining experience that keeps locals returning.
As a New Yorker, I still remember walking into Coba Sushi for the first time over a decade ago & realizing immediately that I had been humbled. Call it love at first sight, or first bite. Montreal sushi simply plays at a higher level.
Whether it's a date night or just a solo trip the ambience is moody & inviting.
The service is consistently polished but warm, anchored by an owner who makes you feel genuinely welcome every single time. The standard rolls are unfailingly precise & balanced, the kind of consistency that keeps locals loyal. & the truffle tuna roll remains my personal north star. Rich & indulgent it's pure perfection.
At this point, a trip to Montreal without Coba Sushi feels unfinished. NYC may have the attitude, but Montreal has the edge when it comes to sushi.

We had the shrimp
Tempura to start & 2 sushi rolls & the pad Thai noodles. The sushi is creative & delicious! The pad Thai was also very delicious!
The windows were wide open which made it feel like a terrace on this lovely night.
So far, the best sushi spot we've tried in Montreal!
We started with dumplings as an appetizer - perfectly cooked & delicious. For sushi, we ordered Le Duo with Sake Teriyaki & Tokyo rolls - fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. As a main, we had the General Tao chicken with rice, which was just as satisfying.
The staff were incredibly friendly & helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to!
I can say this is one of the best sushi places in Montreal. The ambiance is cozy & inviting, & the sushi is fresh. I ordered the following rolls: New York, Mont-Royal, Le Duo, Dynamite, Ceviche, & Tokyo. My favorite was definitely the Ceviche

I have been ordering sushis at least twice a month since the past 5+ years from this restaurant & they never disappoint! I love that their rolls contain a lot of fish (unlike other places where you get more rice than anything else) & they are always very fresh even when I order on a Sunday. Thank you to the Co Ba family to always taking such good care of us (:
Great food & great value. Very friendly service. I asked them to modify a roll to my taste & they did so which was very nice of them. Bluefin tartare is very nice quantity for the price. All around very good. Would highly recommend.
I hesitated between 4 & 5 stars. The location & atmosphere are really nice. The service was fine. My wife lived her cod & soba noodle dish. I had the sushi platter. The tuna sashimi was good, the salmon one was okay. The Maki rolls were fancy but I've had better. We liked the wine that we got.

The quality of the sushi is very good. However the service & the inflexibility of the waitress to accommodate our special needs was not acceptable to her.she refused to take out things we did not like from the roll & was very unflexible.
Portion size for price paid was also unfair.
It was our second visit however this time round it was disappointing
