Review Summary

Stepping into Chocolat Belge Heyez Père et Fils Inc feels like discovering a hidden slice of Brussels in Montreal, with a rich aroma of premium chocolate and an emphasis on authentic flavors. Pralines are described as artful, delicate shells with balanced fillings, and the hazelnut gianduja is a revelation. A broad range of options is highlighted, from single origin bars to seasonal specialties and speculoos filled truffles when available. Prices reflect quality and the experience is more than just chocolate, with elegant gift boxes making it a go to for gifting. Quality chocolate is praised as among the best, with expatriates noting true Belgian standards. A delivery mix up led to disappointment with a ballotin order, but the shop provided a full refund and extended goodwill. Service is described as friendly and knowledgeable, though some feedback notes occasional inconsistency and a few tasteless or dry pieces in mixed assortments. The shop is also praised for its impressive display sculptures and the experience of choosing from single origin bars to seasonal specialties.

Stepping into Chocolat Belge Heyez feels like discovering a hidden slice of Brussels in Montreal. The moment you walk in, the rich aroma of premium chocolate takes over-no artificial scents, just the real deal. Their pralines are art: delicate shells with fillings that strike the perfect balance between silky & inventive (the hazelnut gianduja is a revelation).

The staff clearly love what they do, offering warm, knowledgeable service without pretension. They'll guide you through their single-origin bars or seasonal specialties (try the spéculoos-filled truffles if they're available). Prices reflect the quality, but this isn't just chocolate-it's an experience worth savoring.

Bonus: Their gift boxes are elegantly wrapped, making them a go-to for impressing foodie friends. A must-visit for anyone who believes chocolate should be celebrated, not just eaten.
