So disappointed!! It used to be my go to Korean fried chicken place. It was the best!! Now with the new menu, everything is more expensive with smaller portions. They don't have the usual fried chicken, all the sauces are bland & not even worth it. Truffle fries are just frozen fries drowned in parmesan cheese. Plus on top, the place was dirty with sticky floors. I won't be going back.
It's a really great fried chicken spot & I personally liked it a lot. Most of the chicken was really tasty & crispy, but I felt like the drumsticks weren't as well seasoned as the other pieces. The only downside is the two-person tables are a bit small, which makes it a little tight when you're eating. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend it & would come back again to try more.

Chimaek is hands down one of the best spots for Korean fried chicken in Montreal. The chicken is always crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, & packed with flavor. The sauces are especially impressive, whether you go for something sweet, spicy, or soy garlic, everything tastes authentic & perfectly balanced.
The vibe of the place is fun & lively, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. Pairing the chicken with a cold beer really completes the experience.
Service is friendly & efficient, & the portions are generous for the price. Overall, this place never disappoints. If you're craving Korean fried chicken, Chimaek is a must-try in Montreal! 10/10
We only had fried chicken & I can say they have the best fried chicken taste in downtown Montreal. The service is nice & the servers are really awesome they had really good recommendations.
First time coming to Chimaek because my brother in law wanted to bring us here. He was surprised the menu changed. Almost everything was sold out when we came & the only thing we ordered as the chicken but it came with little sauce so it tasted a bit dry. When we asked for more sauce, we had to be charged 5$ (no choice I guess)
The portion was quite generous anyways. The waiters were friendly & efficient. It's just the food that was quite bland & dry.

Edit:
After months of complaining, they finally changed back tbe menu to something that we recognize. I still miss the baby powder fries & cheese corn but this will do. The tetbokki is different, the gimarri looks smaller but its ok. I really miss the old menu.
Original: Break my heart cause it was my fave restaurant but The new menu is awful. Everything was salty & oily. How dare you remove the yangnyeom chicken, corn cheese & the baby powder fries. The new truffles fries are bad, they're thick & oily. Fix it!!!!
I live nearby, been a regular since 2023. This time food really slaps I had to give a review.
I ordered:
- Nagasaki Udon (Soup)
- Makchang (Hotplate Intestines spicy Mala)
- Green Onion Chicken
- a portion of Takoyaki for free just had to post an Instagram story
Hands down this is a must go for Korean Fried Chicken in town, good food must go with a price. Its 10/10 worth it
Thanks for being very generous with the green onion
One of the best fried chicken restos in town. The fried chicken menu changes regularly but they usually have great options. Conch salad also delicious.
I visited Chimaek Gana a few days ago, & it was a great experience overall. I ordered the Supreme Chicken & udon, & both dishes were delicious. The chicken was incredibly crispy - exactly the kind of texture you want - & it paired perfectly with a cold beer.
The service was also excellent. The staff were very kind, attentive, & quick to react to anything we needed, which really made the meal even more enjoyable.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Chimaek Gana if you're looking for tasty food, great chicken, & friendly service.
I visited this place on 23rd of january & everything was amazing. The fried chicken was delicious as always & the waiters were all so good looking. Also they played really cool korean songs which enlightened my group's mood even more.
I visited last week with my friends. We were a big group, & we added a few more people later, but the staff handled everything super kindly. We ordered chicken, udon, & cocktails, & the food came out really fast.
The Supreme chicken was crispy & spicy, & the Padak had a great balance of the tangy sauce & the pile of green onions on top.
The cocktail with aloe juice was super pretty & tasted great too.
Thanks again for the amazing service & delicious food! I'll definitely be back. 🫶✨
Definitely the best korean fried chicken in MTL. I have been here a few times & the chicken was always very crispy & juicy, but not oily. While the Supreme was my favourite fried chicken, I enjoyed the Makchang (grilled intestines) even more. Very reasonably priced spot for a date or with friends. Will definitely be back!
This used to be the place I frequently go with friends with reasonable price fried chicken & good beer, but now the menu is completely changed. Fried chicken is no longer affordable, there are way less choices, & the portion is smaller. It's now just another over-priced korean place with ok-ish food
