The squire and his cur’. Celle-ci fut remplacée par un magnifique tableau du peintre et muraliste montréalais Carlito DalCeggio.

Food was really really good me & my dad ordered the seafood tower & it was probably one of the best ones I had in my life. The owner super friendly & the service is great.
Great seafood restaurant! Top quality, fresh ingredients & generous portions. The greeting is fast & professional, the service is efficient & very
friendly. Arguably the best seafood restaurant in Montreal, certainly the oldest, just a 2 minute walk from the Notre Dame basilica in the Old Port. As you come in you are greeted by one of the owners through the bar section, where you can see the original stools & lamps from the 1930s. You get the feel of a classic neighbourhood joint, full of regulars, very busy. The cocktails are very generous (6 oz martinis). They have an nice seafood tower, very festive . The seafood pasta is outstanding. The Dover sole Meuniere is the house specialty, & it's the best i've had anywhere. Also we tried lobster ravioli, which was a highlight. The staff is young, super friendly & professional, & the owners are charming. Strongly recommend, overall a great value. They offer indoor valet parking for $15

Great seafood restaurant. Nice clean decor with artistic murals, professional management. Friendly , & professional waiters. The drinks are fabulous, great bloody caesars & huge martinis. We had soups (lobster bisque) & different entrees. All were great. One of us in our party is allergic to seafood, so I mentioned when I reserved & they had planned accordingly. OveralI a great experience, quality food, reasonable prices on everything, even the wine. The seafood pasta is the best: fresh pasta with large chunks of lobster, jumbo shrimps, scallops & huge clams, in a lobster sauce. I could eat it everyday. Also the lobster ravioli was a hit, generous & fresh. The tables are far apart which is nice, & there are large windows overlooking beautiful buildings. Can't wait to go back!
Iconic Montreal seafood restaurant that my grandparents took my mother to in the 1930s. The decor has been updated needless to say. Exceptional food, drinks, service & old world charm continue.
Lovely seafood restaurant has a great history close to Old Montreal. Starting from friendly welcoming, nice story of the interiors, comforting soups for appetizers & a full list of delicious seafood meals. Highly recommend for any celebrations. A big shoutout for our server, Jorden for great survive tonight. Can't wait to come back!
We stumbled upon Chez Delmo because it was close to our hotel. We ordered the seafood tower & were delightfully impressed. The service, food & drinks were top quality. What impressed us most was the dining experience. We had the pleasure of having a drink with the owner Benoit & learning about the history of Chez Delmo. Truly fascinating. I highly recommend this place.
Some dishes at Chez Damlo truly shine, offering delightful surprises that keep you eager for your next visit. The service is impeccable, making you feel welcomed, & the ambience creates a relaxing vibe that enhances your dining experience.
The star of the menu was the octopus entrée - succulently tender & bursting with flavour, it was a highlight. On the other hand, the lobster bisque fell flat, being light on lobster & lacking the rich flavour one would hope for.
For mains, the local giant scallops stood out with their impressive size & delightful taste, showcasing the young chef's skill. Conversely, the lobster club sandwich was disappointing; it was light on lobster & overwhelmed by bacon, overshadowing the seafood.
Based on my experience, I recommend exploring other, non-lobster seafood options here. Overall, you can enjoy a fantastic meal at Chez Damlo.

Everything about Chez Delmo is exactly what you'd hope for in a top-notch spot in Old Montreal. The moment you walk in, you feel the perfect blend of modern style with a touch of historic charm, it's classy without being stuffy.
We kicked things off with the Clam Chowder & a Shrimp Cocktail. Both were fresh, flavorful, & a great start to the meal. For the mains, we went with the Seafood Linguine & the Dover Sole, & honestly, both were outstanding. The flavours were clean & well balanced, & you could tell the ingredients were top quality.
The service really stood out too friendly, attentive, & never rushed. The partnership in which the owners present themselves matches the restaurant's brand.
Overall, Chez Delmo gave us one of those dining experiences where everything just works, & works well. Great food, great service, & a setting that makes the evening feel special. It's definitely a place we'd go back to & recommend to anyone visiting Old Montreal.
The seafood was all jumbo & not as flavorful as it could have been, but still rather good so I can't complain about that. I was confused to be served a caviar dish without a pearl spoon, i had to ask for it & was told that' not many people know this', which I'm not sure if I should take as a compliment or an insult? The first interaction I had when I came in was the owner who was at the host stand, writing something down & not acknowledging my presence, so I greeted him to make sure he saw me. He doesn't look up for a couple minutes, looks me up & down & asks me what I want... So I asked him how he was doing, he said'good' & just nothing else. I really think that if I hadn't had a reservation he would have refused me service. He seemed very intense on not serving me. It's a shame because the rest of his staff is excellent, but he needs an attitude check. You can't treat customers like they're a bother when they spend $300 to have dinner with you
What an amazing experience! My wife & daughter & I were visiting Montreal recently & wanted seafood. Based on Yelp reviews, we chose to try Chez Delmo & made reservations. Our table was ready right away, & the service was fantastic from beginning to end. From great recommendations about must-try dishes (the Lobster Club, for example) to wine pairings, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. To top it off, we were there at the same time a celebrity (who shall remain nameless here) was dining there, & as we were finishing our dinner we got chatting with Benoit who graciously spent a lot of time with us chatting about life, family, & everything else. We didn't just have a terrific dining experience, we feel like we made some new friends.

We try & have ourselves a giant seafood platter dinner once in a while. As we're planning on moving to Montreal in the future, we thought we'd start with Chez Delmo.
They humorously sat us at a two-top. We tried to warn them. We ordered. We were promptly reseated 😆
Everything looked, smelled, & tasted fantastic. From the gigantic shrimp to the extra oysters. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. You've set the bar pretty high.
My server William was very helpful in navigating the menu & was incredibly personable & charismatic. It was also a real pleasure meeting the owner of the restaurant. The food was delicious & the staff really made me feel at home. Loved the seafood pasta. Best gin Martini in Montreal. Will be sending people in the future.
The most amazing experience!! Great food, the seafood platter was fresh & tasted amazing. The waiters are very welcoming, friendly, & knowledgeable about the food. Plus, really fun to see the celebrity autographs on the walls, lots of household names!!!
I enjoyed many good meals at the original Chez Delmo, closed now 20 years. It was a treat to visit the new Delmo's, & enjoy good fish & seafood & Malpeques properly prepared. Our waiter, Cedric, was very personable & attentive. He advised us thoughtfully about our selections & our wine. Good to see the profiteroles! Bravo à l'équipe.

Cozy & quaint restaurant with wonderfully friendly & engaging employees...no pretense at all & we loved our meals...seafood pasta & shrimp cocktail was delicious...husband & daughter became addicted to their bread & butter! We enjoyed the experience so much...thank you for recognizing our daughter's birthday, also!
In Montreal for 1 night & Chez Delmo was recommended to us by our hotel concierge when we inquired about a local place to eat that had great seafood. The only reservation for 2 available was at the bar & we were ok with that. In the end I am so grateful we dined at the bar as David made our experience all that much better. He was very educated on the menu, made excellent recommendations', made sure his team paid attention to all the small details & had great conversation with us. It was fun watching him mix drinks & I admired his skill, so much so that I had to order a martini after watching him expertly make them. The lobster bisque was chalked full of succulent lobster in a lovely broth. We had beef tartare, which I generally hate but absolutely loved, & oysters to start. My husband had the catch of the day (halibut) while I dined on the creole crab. Everything was superb. We met the owners & heard some of the history of Chez Delmo. It is nice to see such pride in ownership. We definitely do not regret dining here & would make this a staple when we visit.
Visiting chez delmo was a weird experience. When you visit the website, you expect a bright seafood lovers paradise driven by a long tradition over the many years this restaurant has been open. Badges galore as we scroll on the website as they are a top 3 Montreal seafood restaurant, hence you book a table with creditcard guarantee which enhances the expectations even more. Come dinner night, you enter what can only be described as a sports bar with two tv screens playing sports in a otherwise dark, loud & cheap looking place because of the furniture. So far the ambiance. Service is top with all waiters friendly & giving advice where needed. On to the food. Fish & chips were really nice. Lots of flavour in the batter & fresh made tatare sauce. Main was the seafood pasta which, as signature dish, at 75$ cad a plate was a expensive dish for half a (very small) lobster tale, two scallops, 2 shrimps & 4 very small mussels. The dish went for a smokey flavour but ended up leaving a burned aftertaste with every bite. I would not recommend, especially if I compare a 350$ cad bill at the end of the evening.
Amazing seafood & steak, very attentive to detail & aware of allergens. Some good gluten free options are the grilled scallops, & the shrimp cocktail they can give you a mayo instead of the cocktail sauce.
What an amazing experience!! My Father & I visited Chez Delmo for dinner, & the hospitality, ambiance & the food was an absolute experience!! William & Benoit are my new best friends, & I highly recommend Chez Delmo if you love great seafood & great people!!
