Review Summary

Reviews of Chef Tang describe delicious, generously portioned Chinese and Thai takeout with friendly, attentive service and reliable overall flavor. Dishes like general tao and salt and pepper shrimp are often highlighted as standouts, with chow mein also praised and portions noted as large for the price. On the downside, delivery can be slow on busy nights and a few orders arrive with delays or mix ups, including a case where an item was misidentified. There is curiosity about the service charge and transparency about where it goes, with comparisons to other local spots that do not add such a charge. Nevertheless, the experience is viewed as dependable for quick meals and comfort food, and many say they would return for the tasty food, large portions, and friendly staff, even if occasional inconsistencies arise.

My go to for chinese american food. I absolutely LOVE their salt & pepper shrimp. Zero complaints about this place. If you want chinese food & you live in the Sud-ouest, this is the place to call. Their chow-mein is lovely too. Those two dishes are what I get for my birthday.

*** edit *** Since my original post I have given the restaurant another chance & they have redeemed themselves. Since Ioved back to the area 1 year ago, I've ordered maybe 3 times & I was happy with the quality of the food each time. It seems maybe sometimes there's issues with consistency but overall the portions are large & the food is tasty. Maybe my first time ordering was an off day for them. Since then I've changed my star review from 3 to 4.

**Original review** After reading some positive reviews I decided to order the general tao chicken & some pork & shrimp dumplings. The chicken was ok, I've had better. The dumplings were really not tasty I was not even able to eat them. I'd like to give them another chance & get something from their Thai specialties menu.

Don't get fool by the review , they served you old food that was already fried they just heat up & give you what's left. the sea food selection is super cheap, not even real shrimp & let's not talk about the crab stick lol & they charge you 20$ & everything was dry & hard very disappointing.

Big portions of food, but almost none of it tastes any good. I ordered through Uber eats & got combo A (general tao, rice, wonton soup, beef & vegetables, spring rolls), & ordered an additional Singapore noodle & salt & pepper shrimp. The only dish that has any flavor worth mentioning is the shrimp. The beef & veg are completely tasteless. The general tao is soggy. The Singapore noodles & spring rolls tasted off.

We ordered around 10:30pm. The fried shrimp dumplings were the smallest & the least filled dumplings I have ever seen. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.

Significantly above average. The black bean beef & salt&pepper shrimps were really delicious. We will definitely order again.
