Visited the restaurant to order a poutine & burger. The burger was fantastic until I bit into a piece of cardboard. At first I thought it was just the wrapper but it was literally a piece of cardboard.
For a burger & OG poutine the cost was 37.05 (including 15% tip). Quality control & customer support are needed.
Will not return.
Can't talk about the quality of the food, because the food never arrived & we had to cancel the order via Uber Support.
They will NOT deliver within time, NOT respond to update requests & as you can see by other reviews on here, clearly do this regularly.
The best thing about this order was the fact that Uber Support acted professionally & within minutes, cancelled our order & got us a refund.
Does anyone else have trouble with the responsiveness of the website? Hungg gap & just rolling in the empty. Also, please put login on first page...I don't need, as a customer, to have to go through a landing page or funnel. For the food, you don't order there because your health is important! Comfort food could be better quality for the price paid. More options would be appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: Had a delivery this night & the delivery guy & the receptionist were A1! They must've been very busy cause they had forgotten my tenders & my poutine & offered to give me chef coin credits for the items but I was hungry & asked if there was time to deliver them. So they did & it was quick! Even gave me complementary sauces & a fried mars bar as a surprise! I was elated at the courtesies they showed! But, then again, I was polite & had given a decent tip. The food was good & perfect temperature! I'd still like them to offer more options, if possible but quality is ok for what they offer. I now use the app. as it's way more convenient & less of a pain in the a$$ to go through. You can track your order after the order page or in history of transactions.
Edit2: Got my delivery. My crisp burger was good but not hot hot,you know? & instead of Sprite×1 I got 2×lemoniced tea named Fuze. I didn't know they had this. I saw they had Monster drink in their list when ordering. I wasn't informed of the substitution & I disn't get my salad. Will follow-up with customer service tomorrow about that. I think I'll try ordering earlier than 1h22. Also, I tried installing the app I previously had & it doesn't work, even with location turned on.
Update on edit #2: I was contacted & got 8$ in Chef's coins. He said I didn't receive the right cold bag. He responded in 48 hours. All 😎👍
For the app, he asked some screenshots. LOL! I gave him the black screen I got & the icon of the app. I'll try again & hope it works.🤷?♀?
I don't even want to know how much money I've spent here since I got to Montreal but it is so worth it every time. It's consistently quality food. The only thing I could say is that when it gets busy their pick up method is quite bad but other than that it's great. I will say it's a little expensive but you pay for the quality of the food.
Have ordered from here twice now, & both times the food was cold. I even made the second order in person & was given the food fast so I thought for sure it must be hot, but after a less than 5 min walk home, it was cold already. They obviously gave me a burger they had made earlier. They don't care about quality, just getting your money is all that matters. Friends recommended it to me which is why I gave them a second chance. Not again I'm afraid.
This place is run by students & serves mostly students. Menu selection is pretty good, but the food here is of mid-quality. Decent amount of seating, casual fast food atmosphere. They goofed on my friends order, after seeing several people served after him & getting my food already, they realized their mistake but it cost us a lot of time. Service needs a bit of work, but they were not unfriendly or rude.
USED to be a great late night delivery service.. & I USED to be a long term faithful client.. but ChefOnCall has SERIOUSLY GONE DOWNHILL.. quality of the food has seriously gone down.. delivery has gotten slower.. occasional mistakes (forgetfulness) have gotten more & more frequent.. & now, what broke the camel's back, on my last order, they forgot to include the gravy for the poutine & when I called it in, I was told that four people confirmed that the gravy was included in the delivery & I WAS ASKED TO SMS THE PHOTOS OF THE FOOD to the owner.. all this over a $5 mini poutine.. I indulged him & texted several photos of a container with greasy fries.. I got a call back with the owner arguing that he sees some brown on the container, so the sauce is there..btw that brown was the grease from the fries.. UNHEARD OF.. NEVER CALLING THEM AGAIN!!!
