Review Summary

Overall, reviews describe Caro Resto as a warm, welcoming breakfast and brunch spot where generous portions, fresh ingredients, and flavorful, lovingly prepared dishes stand out. The staff and owner are repeatedly praised for attentive hospitality, personal greetings at the table, and checking in to ensure everything is to taste. Celebrations are a common thread, with service that goes above and beyond for birthdays and other milestones, including decorations and a celebratory atmosphere. The menu blends traditional breakfast favorites with Caribbean and Haitian twists, offering plantain based dishes, griot, crepes, eggs benedict variations, and even vegan options customized on request. Prices are described as very reasonable for the portions and quality, with many calling it a great value or a hidden gem in the area. The kitchen is often praised for fresh, not frozen flavors, with reviewers noting careful seasoning, well presented plates, and generous sides. Even when small hiccups occur, such as a mix-up or a delay, the staff respond with courtesy and often remake a dish to ensure satisfaction. The atmosphere is described as clean, cozy, and relaxed, with a family friendly vibe that makes guests feel at home. Several reviews mention large group accommodations and easy ordering for families, and some highlight the care shown to children. Overall, the sentiment is that Caro Resto is a reliable, welcoming go to for brunch and breakfast, with many indicating plans to return.

Great hospitality & service from the staff & owner in a relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed the unique twist on traditional breakfast fair; eggs benedict on plantains with fried pork was delicious. Looking forward to coming back & trying out the rest of the menu.

First time trying a plantain based griot eggs benedict! The chef was very sweet & super passionate about her food, also makes a crazy pepper sauce 🔥

Tous les plats sont très goûteux, belle présentation, les portions sont généreuses & peu importe le plat que je prends c'est toujours à mon goût & satisfaisant. Pour ceux qui aiment les plantains, le griot, le kabrit ou chèvre vous serez comblés.

I had an egg white omelette & they didn't charge me extra. The plate came with potatoes, plantain, salad, & fruit. The service was excellent & the staff was very attentive. I will definitely be back often

Amazing food, amazing service. I came here last Saturday & the owner was very friendly & even changed my dish because I didn't notice there was pork. The plantain🔥quesadilla🔥potatoes🔥….10/10

I never leave reviews but this place was so good I couldn't not this time. Genuinely the freshest & one of the most flavourful breakfast I've had in a restaurant in years - maybe ever. Some stuff is expensive but most of it is below average price. Got the special with poached eggs on top of goat, plantains, peppers & onions with hollandaise. Delicious & only costed $20 before tip (it would have been like $5 cheaper for pork or beef). Usually breakfast places just cut up some lettuce & a couple of crappy pieces of fruit to make the plate look nice. Not here. A little salad with some in house dressing, & some of the freshest fruit I've ever had at a restaurant. Seriously unreal.

As a side note, the decor is lovely & they played some beautiful jazz at a reasonable level. Lots of places just look like cookie cutter repetitive crap but this place is unique & it works well.

It sounds like I'm being dramatic but I promise you that if you live in the West island you are missing out on something special here.

My wife & I were looking for a good place to brunch since the downfall of oeufrier's quality. We found this place nearby with great reviews. We were not disappointed. I ordered the cheddar bacon crepes with a smoothie & my wife ordered the Benedictine bs eggs with extra plantains & a banana strawberry carribean smoothie (made with carnation). It was outstanding. My wife being from the Caribbean herself really enjoyed the seasoning in her eggs & the plantains were fresh & delicious. Usually when we order plantains in restaurants, they're dry & flavorless. This was not the case.

Only little downside, as a person who does not like eggs, I always struggle finding something salty that are not eggs or just a bagel. As much as my cheddar bacon crepe was delicious & will definitely order again, I wish they had more options. But I'm not taking points away because I'm the picky one.

The restaurant was fairly empty on a sunday at 11 am. With the quality of the food, I really hope this restaurant stays in business.
