I've been to Caifan twice now & will definitely be returning. No question that these are the best tacos I've personally ever had in Montreal. Everything is made fresh & the meat in the tacos is so juicy. If you get anything here, you must try to Arrachera steak tacos - they will blow your mind. Service is great, dishes are a little pricy but everything is these days so I don't mind it as much when the quality of food is so great! Appetizer: - Torito de Chorizo: 10/10. A must try! Tacos: - Arrachera: 1000/10! If you taste any tacos here let it be these ones. The most juicy & flavourful tacos I've ever had. - Al Pastor: 10/10. Amazing, so well seasoned & authentic! Al Pastor tacos are my favourite ever & these were the best I've had. Quesadillas: - Gobernador: 7/10. Definitely more stewy than I thought it'd be but still really tasty. The chunks of shrimp were large & they did not skimp out on that. Desserts: - El Tropical: 7/10. Kind of like a key lime cannoli. It was tasty but I much preferred the below dessert on my second visit! - El Lokito: 9/10. Small but delicious & such unique flavours. I'm not a white chocolate fan but I loved everything about this.View more

I'm visiting Montreal & this restaurant is around the corner from where I am staying. Early on Monday morning, I asked if was possible to have just a coffee. I was greeted with a warm welcome & my coffee!! That evening I returned & I asked if I could just have a nightcap at the bar. I received a warm welcome from Francois & got my nightcap! So last night I enjoyed a beautiful evening meal in the restaurant & another warm welcome from Francois. Ahlandra explained the menu very well & recommended some dishes for me. The food was superb!! Very good flavours & I loved the presentation!! Hats off to the chef! So happy I came across this great restaurant, just love the hospitality & food! The server was a very lovely lady. I wish I asked her name. She is very knowledgeable to the menu. My friend & I were there at 5:30pm on Monday. It hasn't got too busy, so it was great for us to catch up. The menu is well labeled. I had the TORITO DE CHORIZO. It was not as spicy as I thought it would be. I will try to vegan version. Personally, I really love my cod fish tacos. We were satisfied. The portion was right.View more
Absolutely amazing experience! The service was impeccable with with professional waiters that make you feel welcome & delighted to talk about the food your about to consume. The food was so delicious & full of flavor. I accidentally ordered a a plater that contained sea food witch I don't usually enjoy that much but after the first bite my subjective worries vanished & I continued to have a lovely night filled with laughter & greet conversations with some amazing music that rendered any moment of silence into a mini dance party 🥳. Stopped by on a Tuesday night it was absolutely amazing. The food was exceptional with extremely clever flavor combinations. But, the service & quality of drinks from the bartenders is what put this visit over the top. This is a MUST when in Montreal.View more

Not what you expect from Instagram advertising, service is awful, if you go from 5-7 they ignore you until last minute call, food is OK, but portions are tiny I guess this is the kind of GOURMET experience, anyway up to you.....View more
The taste of the food is OK, however the portions are not enough as well as the prices high. Missing authentic mexican experience. Service is super bad, very slow, we had to wait for the waiters to come more than 35min. I will not recommend this place.View more
