I had the steak tacos, they were not bad, but they were OK. I've had better steak tacos at other places in Montreal, with handmade tortillas, more meat & better price.
However, I had the cantarito & it was great, my friends also loved their cocktails. I would go back for drinks & small bite but not necessarily for dinneView more

Si ont ne prend pas le menu 5 services.. il y a quelques entrées mais pas toute disponible & seulement des tacos à manger..c'est pas le typique mexicain c'est pour cette raison que j'avais très envie de l'essayer mais le menu est trop petit..a part ça parmi les cocktails qui était disponible celui que j'ai pris était bon.. les desserts bof. Il y à plein d'autres resto mexicain bien meilleur.View more

The food is crazy good. Well balanced & full of flavour.
The menu is perfectly curated. Every dish is well thought of & you don't have random items in the menu that don't make sense. It all goes so well together.
The drinks are amazing. Their signature cocktails offer flavours I haven't seen anywhere else. & even their classic margarita has zest in it?! Never occurred to me but definitely the best idea ever.
I'll for sure come back & tell everyone about it 💖

J'ai été au Caifan pour ma fête avec un groupe de 16 personnes. C'était ma deuxième fois dans ce restaurant, & mes convives & moi avons été bluffés!
En somme, un excellent rapport qualité-prix avec le menu dégustation (obligatoire pour les groupes) à 65$/pers. pour un repas 5 services aux saveurs explosives, créatives & un beau voyage culinaire. Le service était un sans faute, entre notre serveuse attitrée, Ève, & Arturo, le manager.
Les restrictions/allergies alimentaires ont été communiquées en avance & respectées, le menu change de manière hebdomadaire & a été partagé par Arturo quelques jours avant la réservation, on a pu amener & souffler un gâteau de fête, & tout le personnel a été très patient & à l'écoute.
Je recommande l'accord mets-vins à 40$ car il inclut non seulement des vins mais aussi des cocktails ;)View more

-first off we booked a table & when we got there there was no table available so we had to sit at the bar 🙁
-service is disorganized, definitely not short staff & yet not a smooth flow.
- food was correct , it was warm & fresh but i expected more flavor in my food especially with such a small menu.
-food was so not impressive i did not try their dessert but after appetizers & tacos i wasn't expecting much from the dessert section
- mocktail was good, well balance but 75% of it was ice 🧊
Overall not a bad experience, if you like more fancy vibe & cocktail it's not a bad choice.
However if you rather find a good & simple mexican restaurant there is better place within montreal.View more

A must visit. We go to Mexico annually & to different locations. The Pastor here is one of the best we have had. The cocktails menu is also top notch with a large variety to choose from. Service from all staff was amazing.View more

Stopped in for dinner last night & had an overall great experience.
Cocktails were unique & tasty & the cod & pork tacos were incredible. The homemade tortillas were also a really great touch. The menu is limited- wish there were more options to pick from.
Service was a bit all over- the place was busy so servers were a little inconsistent but they were extremely friendly.

My husband & I went to Caifan for dinner on a Thursday evening just after arriving into Montreal (we drove, so we were tired of being in the car & were really hungry). The staff was friendly & welcoming when we arrived & we were quickly shown to our table (we did have a reservation). Our server came to the table shortly after we sat down & took our drink orders, I had the Cubanita & my husband had the Valdiosera, both cocktails were fantastic. For an appetizer, we had the octopus tostada which was good, the sauce overpowered the octopus a little & it was just a touch overcooked, but not horribly. We then had two types of tacos, the gobernador & arrachera, both were tasty, but we liked the arrachera just a little better. The beef was so flavorful & all the toppings on the taco complemented the meat perfectly. The gobernador tacos were good, but they were a little light on the shrimp so there were more toppings/sauces than actual shrimp. We also had the cochinita pibil wrapped in cheese with black bean puree & all sorts of toppings/sauces. It was absolutely the best thing we had all evening. The meat was tender & had so much flavor, all the sauces were wonderful & the toasty cheese around the outside of the meat was nutty & had great texture. For dessert, our server recommended the Lokito, which was white chocolate in the shape of an ear of corn filled with corn cream & it also had pumpkin ganache & tajin. At first I thought the tajin was a little strange on a dessert but by after a few bites I really appreciated the tanginess & spice it brought to the dish. Our server was very patient with us not speaking French & did the best she could to communicate with us (we did a lot of pointing at the menu to order, which worked just fine). She kept our water glasses full & we never had to wait very long for anything. Overall, we would be happy to return & enjoyed our experience!View more

Je dirais que pour tout ceux qui sont allés au Mexique, sont tombés amoureux de sa cuisine & qui depuis cherchent désespérément un restaurant authentique à Montréal c'est le paradis retrouvé!! Plats délicieux, assaisonnés avec finesse & savoir! Le chef a su transformer des plats authentique en délices gourmet & rafiné. La présentation des assiettes est magnifique. Vous pouvez même y trouver quelques plats préhispanique!! Ok! On a parlé des plats mais attention, les cocktails sont déments! I recently came here with a group of 8. We all had really high expectations based on the amazing reviews. Unfortunately most of us were pretty disappointed. On the plus side, the cocktails were really good, our serveur was nice despite things being really slow, one person in our group really enjoyed the quesadillas, & there was a DJ playing good music which created a nice vibe. On the downside, the tacos were really saucy & overloaded making the tortillas soggy & broken, so they were hard to eat. The batter on the fish tacos was soggy & not crispy. They don't offer any guacamole & chips which is really uncommon for a Mexican restaurant serving tacos. Finally, one of the desserts was pictured as having a crispy taco shell & it came with something soft & completely different than was described.View more
