I planned my husbands birthday in the private room at Caifan & we did the tasting menu & I can honestly say every SINGLE dish was absolutely delicious! All our guests LOVED the food. Caifan definitely has customers for life! Full of flavour & truly amazing! Not only the food was amazing but the drinks were to die for! Their signature margarita was my personal favourite!
The service & atmosphere was also impeccable! We could not ask for a better night! The staff was so attentive & so kind, we could not recommend this restaurant more!

The taste of the food is OK, however the portions are not enough as well as the prices high. Missing authentic mexican experience. Service is super bad, very slow, we had to wait for the waiters to come more than 35min. I will not recommend this place.View more
I can't recommend this place. We're vegetarian & we're pleased to see a lot of options for us on the menu. We had the fried, stuffed jalapeno which was great. The vegan chorizo am tacos & the zucchini tacos were pretty terrible. Bland, greasy with minimal garnish, no hot sauce (!) on the tacos or available on the table. The interior design was pleasant but there was no vibe. No ambiance. Our server was a little too overbaring & just hung around our table, seemingly waiting for something to do throughout most of our meal. It felt very awkward. Go to Tin Tan instead. It's walking distance from this place with way better food, great service & a fun vibe.View more

We visited Caifan on A Friday night during a deluge. The music was upbeat, the staff were energetic & the vibe was fun! The service was very good! Our server took time to describe & suggest cocktails, make food recommendations & was smiley & friendly. The small plates approach to the menu was a good idea but the delivery of the food from kitchen to the table was rushed. We had barely finished savouring our amazingly delicious appetizers when the next dish was there. We had indicated we wanted a more leisurely approach. Great Venue, great location with friendly staff. I think this place is not your mainstream Mexican cuisine, but rather a historic take on classic recipes you may not find everywhere. I'm no expert on Mexican cuisine, but to be frank, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for the day we came in, simply because I was expecting large portion, & bold seasoning & flavors, but instead got more refined, earthy & smaller sized dishes. I'd say come here well dressed, & with a group for a relaxed brunch, & not after six hours of driving, starved, from Ontario. Would recommend otherwise.View more
I had the pleasure of going to Caifan with my two best friends for a little birthday dinner! We had already been at Piel Canela for their brunch menu & absolutely loved it. & so, we wanted to try Caifan for their dinner menu. We ordered three dishes to share-Pollo El Salsa, Taco de Res, & Taco Rosarito-& they did not disappoint, so savoury & satisfying that only a picture of the desserts was taken, which were also so delicious! We've tried a lot of Mexican food in our travels but the flavours here were something completely different & creative in a such a delicious way. The cocktails were excellent. We had the pork belly appetizer (so tender) & the stuffed jalapeno, & I had the pulled pork quesadilla & my husband the Res tacos - both mains were so good & again, very interesting & elevated flavours that we were pleasantly surprised. Our server Quentin was very friendly & attentive, unfortunately for some reason the kitchen was slow with our food this evening when everyone around us was getting served their orders, so not sure what happened there. We were out on the terrace which was great on a warm Montreal evening. The value of the meal was excellent as well in our opinion, for the quality of the food, the dishes were really well priced.
