Went to celebrate a birthday! Eventhough, I booked a table online ... I sat at the bar waiting for my table to clear up.. took about 15-20 mins. The server was super nice & warm. The food was excellent.. we were pretty hungry so the lack of our table being ready was made up by the food.View more

-first off we booked a table & when we got there there was no table available so we had to sit at the bar 🙁
-service is disorganized, definitely not short staff & yet not a smooth flow.
- food was correct , it was warm & fresh but i expected more flavor in my food especially with such a small menu.
-food was so not impressive i did not try their dessert but after appetizers & tacos i wasn't expecting much from the dessert section
- mocktail was good, well balance but 75% of it was ice 🧊
Overall not a bad experience, if you like more fancy vibe & cocktail it's not a bad choice.
However if you rather find a good & simple mexican restaurant there is better place within montreal.View more
We visited the restaurant &, while the overall experience was pleasant, there was a small miscommunication regarding one of our drinks, which turned out much sweeter than expected. The waiter kindly offered to prepare a new one, but I declined, not wanting to waste the original drink. I did ask if the sweetness could be adjusted, but unfortunately, they weren't able to do so. Instead, they provided me with soda & lemon to adjust it myself - a thoughtful gesture, but not quite the level of service one would expect from a full bar.
In situations like this, it would have been appreciated if the bartender had either personally helped adjust the drink or proactively suggested a better solution. More disappointing, however, was the lack of consideration on the final bill - the drink was still fully charged, despite my efforts to compromise & ultimately not enjoy it.
While I appreciate the small attempts made, it would have been much more meaningful to see greater proactiveness in ensuring guest satisfaction, especially for customers who are mindful about minimizing waste. A little more kindness & flexibility in service would have made all the difference.View more

Pedi con mi pareja los 5 servicios y empezamos bien con el pozole de mariscos, pero realmente las cantidades eran muy poco, el popper de camarón fabuloso pero muy pequeno, lo que realmente me disgustó fue la costra de queso que se tuvo que dividir en dos, así que realmente no fueron 5 platillos por persona.
Los tacos eras 2 pequenos de pastor completamente llenos de cuero y muy poca carne y muy salados.
Tenia expectativas de este restaurante realmente altas, pero me desepcionaron, muy caro por $190 e irnos inconformes
De las cosas muy buenas que tengo que decir :
los 2 chicos que están en el bar son súper amables y atentos 10/10
Y sus cócteles son muy ricos. 10/10
Y por último les comento que no soy de paladar exigente, pero por $190 me esperaba muchísimo más.View more
Wow guys seriously this place is a hidden gem! Tacos were great! But we sat at the bar & the 2 bartenders Fabio & Jose were mastering their craft. These guys are not bartenders they are artists. Prices were acceptable & restaurant design is inviting. We loved it. SaludView more

Wow! Honnêtement j'en ai visité des restaurants mexicains à Montréal & je dois dire sans doute que c'est un de mes TOP TOP. Le service est superbe, tout le personnel que ce soit à l'entrée, en passant par le bar &/ou le service à table est courtois & vraiment professionnel. Je dois féliciter le propriétaire de cet établissement pour le magnifique travail qu'il fait avec son équipe. La nourriture est excellente & succulente. & quoi dire des fameux mardis Palomas & Margaritas à 5$. C'est vraiment un concept exceptionnel que j'ai vraiment apprécié. Les mixologues sont sublimes!! I'm visiting Montreal & this restaurant is around the corner from where I am staying. Early on Monday morning, I asked if was possible to have just a coffee. I was greeted with a warm welcome & my coffee!! That evening I returned & I asked if I could just have a nightcap at the bar. I received a warm welcome from Francois & got my nightcap! So last night I enjoyed a beautiful evening meal in the restaurant & another warm welcome from Francois. Ahlandra explained the menu very well & recommended some dishes for me. The food was superb!! Very good flavours & I loved the presentation!! Hats off to the chef! So happy I came across this great restaurant, just love the hospitality & food! The food & the drinks were delicious, nice discovery. Great mix of flavours & textures, beautiful rendering, staff was friendly & bilingual, probably trilingual but I don't speak much Spanish. The place was beautifully decorated, we sat at the bar, music was not too loud, all around had a great experience, would recommend!View more

What a terrific experience! The vibe of this restaurant is so great, their bar is beautiful, the food is DELICIOUS & super authentic (they have so much more than just tacos on the menu - try some other typical Mexican dishes!) & the service -- wow! The team is all so friendly, & they are clearly being managed with lots of love & care. Portions could be a tinyyy bit bigger for the price, but won't clock them for it. Hope to see Caifan remain as a staple on St. Denis for many years to come!View more

Coming to Montreal from California , it has been a long difficult search for something even remotely close to the amazing Mexican cuisine. Caifan delivers! The bartender Johnny is knowledgeable & his cocktails take you to another place! The chef & Arturo the bar manager took it above & beyond with suggestions & telling us about brunch that is designed by an all female staff (love that!) please give this place a try. Decent food, wonderful drinks, friendly staff, great design choices, but it's a straight up heat box. If you plan on dining there, wear something light. I was in a party of 11 people & was uncomfortably warm. If I went again, it would be with one other person & we'd snag a bar seat.View more
Bonjour, Nous avons eu une expérience mitigée. La bouffe était excellente mais le service tout à fait ordinaire. Beaucoup trop long avant qu'on reconnaisse notre présence (alors que nous étions au bar & qu'il y avait 3 barmans!!!). Suite à notre commande de nourriture, tous les plats sont arrivés en même temps (6 plats) dans un délai de 5 minutes. On n'avait pas nos drink encore & on devait tout engloutir rapidement (par peur que ça devienne froid). On n'avait pas de place pour tous les plats sur le bar étroit...bref pas très agréable....View more

Went there for my birthday with the typical group that arrives one by one & late. Regardless our waiter was very patient & professional (I think his name was Daniel, you rock). Drinks were next level ! The Mezcaloni blew me away, clever twist, balanced & delicious. Food was delicious, a bit pricy some would say, but if the new restaurant on the corner can sell you a carrot for 20$, I don't see why mouth-watering tacos that celebrate the cultural diversity of our city meeting local ingredients could not be sold at a the same price. Only constructive comment I have to give is about the wine list that could be improved to make the place a serious competitor for any other buvette or local resto/bar.
