The food & the drinks were delicious, nice discovery. Great mix of flavours & textures, beautiful rendering, staff was friendly & bilingual, probably trilingual but I don't speak much Spanish. The place was beautifully decorated, we sat at the bar, music was not too loud, all around had a great experience, would recommend!View more

Small portion size, you can't serve someone a 3 course meal & have them still hungry. The service & atmosphere were both great. Drinks were amazing, slightly overpriced (17-20$) but still very worth it. Food tasted good but there's a major issue with portioning. We were two people ordering the shrimp appetizer, both types of beef tacos (total of 6 tacos, 3 each), & a dessert at the end for a total of 120$. For that price, I'm not expecting to still be hungry at the end of the meal. Increase the number of tacos or add a side dish to the mains, even if you have to increase the price. I would 100% revisit for drinks & an appetizer, not a for a meal.View more

My boyfriend & I tried this Mexican restaurant recently & arrived to find it was not that crowded so we were seated promptly. We opted for costras de res (beef cheese mix like a crunchy tortillas) it was really good & flavory. For the drinks we opted for classic magarita & the Mayahuel (sweet with rhum) Staff was nice, over all great experience will come back again!View more

Decent food, wonderful drinks, friendly staff, great design choices, but it's a straight up heat box. If you plan on dining there, wear something light. I was in a party of 11 people & was uncomfortably warm. If I went again, it would be with one other person & we'd snag a bar seat.View more

Bonjour, Nous avons eu une expérience mitigée. La bouffe était excellente mais le service tout à fait ordinaire. Beaucoup trop long avant qu'on reconnaisse notre présence (alors que nous étions au bar & qu'il y avait 3 barmans!!!). Suite à notre commande de nourriture, tous les plats sont arrivés en même temps (6 plats) dans un délai de 5 minutes. On n'avait pas nos drink encore & on devait tout engloutir rapidement (par peur que ça devienne froid). On n'avait pas de place pour tous les plats sur le bar étroit...bref pas très agréable....View more

Went there for my birthday with the typical group that arrives one by one & late. Regardless our waiter was very patient & professional (I think his name was Daniel, you rock). Drinks were next level ! The Mezcaloni blew me away, clever twist, balanced & delicious. Food was delicious, a bit pricy some would say, but if the new restaurant on the corner can sell you a carrot for 20$, I don't see why mouth-watering tacos that celebrate the cultural diversity of our city meeting local ingredients could not be sold at a the same price. Only constructive comment I have to give is about the wine list that could be improved to make the place a serious competitor for any other buvette or local resto/bar. I used to go to Caifan's old location & I truly miss it. I miss the menu with different mezcals that you could try, I miss the food tasting menu, & I miss learning about the history & culture around the food. The current location is beautiful & the food is fine. But the magic is gone. I'm sure the owners are making more money now & that's great, but the experience is not what it used to be as a customer. All in all, it's a great location for instagram influencers who are looking to pose with cute drinks & nice decor while listening to generic techno music.View more

I use to go to Caifan when it was a very small restaurant on Beaubien. It was my favorite restaurant for tacos. Unfortunately I was not able to find the same experience at the new restaurant. Drinks were bland & twice the price as before, food was super salty & full of fat chunks, the service was too much. The waiter was at our table every 3 minutes resulting in us finishing our meal in less than 45 min...& we left pretty fast. Before, music at the restaurant was super nice & eclectic now it's generic house music. Maybe the restaurant will appeal to people who never went before.View more
