I came before opening hours & there was still a lineup ! Lol . To be honest , the lineup made the marketing, i would pass by Little Burgundy streets often & there was always a line up at this café & i wondered why so one day, i decided to wake up early at 7:00 to go to this place, so i could be at the door at 8:00 so i could escape the line up & try the coffee here but I couldn't!! There was still a line up!! i knew that one of Montreal's oldest traditions is to line up. If there is no orange cones , there is always a lineup instead!! People line up for everything & nothing here.. so yeah, welcome to the September cafe that should be renamed' the line up' cafe.
This was our go to coffee place for morning daycare runs, as we live in the neighbourhood. Now parents are expected to wait outside with those waiting for table service to dine in. & there was no line-up inside either.
Very disappointing that September has a lack of consideration for working parents that actually live in the neighbourhood….
go for the vibe, go for the food, go for the coffeeee! ALL 5 stars then on top of it amazing customer service 6 stars
Good coffee & food, I particularly enjoyed the grilled cheese (slightly spicy) & tomato soup. The deluxe breakfast sandwich was yummy but felt more like a lunch item. Service can be slow
Beautiful café with a cozy ambiance & great attention to detail. The coffee is rich & smooth, & the overall service from the staff is very welcoming, Food is amazing & overall vibe is top notch.
Excellent café with a really refined & welcoming atmosphere. September Café stands out for its attention to detail, both in the quality of the food & the overall experience. The coffee is consistently well made, with balanced flavors & great presentation, & the menu offers a thoughtful selection of dishes that feel fresh & carefully crafted.
The space itself is beautifully designed, with a clean, modern aesthetic that still feels warm & inviting. It's the kind of place where you can sit comfortably whether you're catching up with someone or spending time on your own. The staff are friendly, attentive, & contribute to a smooth & enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Overall, a standout café that delivers on quality, ambiance, & service, definitely worth visiting.
September Café is easily my favorite brunch spot in the city.
The atmosphere is always on point, a cool, trendy crowd that gives the place a great energy.
The food is amazing, fresh, flavorful, & consistently delicious. & the coffee? Just as impressive. Rich, well-balanced, & exactly what you want with a great brunch.
If you're looking for a go-to brunch place with great vibes, excellent food, & really good coffee, this is it.
I completely understand the hype of the place. Such a niche vibe. The crowd felt amazing, the place, though tight in space, felt a hearty. I would say that finding space was an issue but if just stick around for 10 - 15 minutes, you will find a nice table.
good coffee, good matcha & good food. Must try is the breakfast sandwhich & their burger. A must try of you are in Montreal for more than 5 days.
The food was so good & worth the hype. The coffee was also great. Their pastries are also amazing. I felt the service was okay & there isn't much seating inside.
Absolutely amazing brunch spot. I love that the menu is not too big & that they really focus on doing a few things very well, while still offering good variety. The pancakes are iconic & a must try. They are the perfect balance of fluffy, sweet, savoury, buttery, & everything you want in a pancake. The food quality is excellent, portion sizes are generous, & prices are very reasonable.
The matcha & coffee are great, the atmosphere is warm & inviting, & the service is kind & friendly. It does get quite busy, so be prepared to wait, but it is well worth it for one of the best brunches I have had.
Good coffee, nice food but very rude hostess. You really need to change he
Excellent coffee place with great food options.
The pancakes are excellent & à must try. I have also tried the avocado toast which is delicious on brioche bread, with a generous amount of avocado.
The halloumi toast is also very good again generous portions.
I like their matcha latte which is good.
The only inconvenience is that you can have a long line to eat there especially in the summer & week-ends & there is no reservations.
Delicious & different dishes from a limited menu.
Good taste of coffee.
Most of places for seating are like social table & bar section.
You need prepare yourself self for long standing in a line & outside.
You need to stand in the line even inside for your order, then you can seat & waiter/waitress will serve your order by number or they call you in the counter. It makes the ambiance too noisy.
They very nice & respectful.
Breakfast sandwich is good, coffee is good, fries are good. Not worth it on the weekend since the line can be an hour.
It's also seat yourself & very stressful to find an open spot when it's busy so best to get it to go
Amazing avocado toast 🤩& fries
Good coffee
Kinda crowded but totally understandable
Even though there's always a lineup but its one of my favorite local brunch spots. They provided great coffee. & the food is amazing. We love the Pancake with the maple syrup & butter on top, such a good combination. & i love the halloumi toast, it comes with toast, grilled cheese & mixed veggies on top. It gives the perfect tastes with their dressings. Also the tomato soup is really good.
So happy that we can finally stop by at this place.
Really good food, including the pancakes, & very good specialty coffee & matcha latte. The prices are decent. I would definitely return to eat here.
We went on a weekday around 11am & the wait was pretty long! This place seems to always have a line & although the food & everything was good, it's definitely overrated! We waited almost 30 mins after ordering & paying for coffee & breakfast sandwich to-go. After eating & drinking the food, it didn't feel memorable & I'm certain I can find same or better elsewhere for a fraction of the price & time. Overall, it was fun trying it but I wouldn't consider ever going back merely because of how the wait is… doesn't feel worth it!
