This cafe is just aesthetically outstanding & super cozy. One of the nicest I've been to in Montreal. I really enjoyed the soup & the coffee was amazing. My friend also enjoyed the smoked salmon sandwich.
Don't get me wrong, I love Santropol. The backyard atmosphere is a real treat & the soups & sandwiches are decent, but the service needs some tweaking. I've been going to Santropol for around 30 years now, & each time the waiters seem to act like you should feel privileged to be there & lucky to be served by them. They rarely crack a smile. Nevertheless, Santropol is a great place to go for lunch. Bring your friends from out of town!

Cafe Santropol...use to live next door for years. My kind of place. Relaxed atmosphere & great vegetarian soups, chili, & sandwiches. A beautiful outdoor back garden to enjoy in the summer. ✨️ 💖 ✨️
Super!! J'adore ce petit gem du plateau. Caché, avec peut-être la plus belle terrasse qu'un café aurait jamais eu! J'ai adoré mes lectures matinales au Santropol cet été! J'y suis retourné & le service n'était pas aussi doux qu'avant mais Santropol restera toujours une bonne environnement pour une bonne ambiance & un bon café!

Very pretty cafe, both inside & the terrace, with a lovely pond with cute red fish! The food options are limited though, mainly vegan & I believe a bit expensive for what you get. I liked my spiced chai though, & a warm bowl of soup was what I needed on the terrace, cause I visited early November when Its chilly Overall, worth visiting because of the cute ambiance (I think it would even be more lovely in Summer), but maybe for drinks, not the food.
After all these years & with a new generation of staff & clientele, Café Santropol has succeeded in preserving it's cozy comfort, hospitality & good food while stepping with a light ecological footprint.

I enjoyed a Mexican salad with chili last Saturday in the backyard. I've been here multiple times & have always had a good experience. The portions are generous & the backyard is very cozy.
Leur magnifique ambiance était la chose qui distinguait aux autres cafés.989367919936E+32; Naturel, tout doux & comfortable, il m’a donné un de mes meilleurs souvenirs avec mon père🍃✨ La nourriture était satisfaisante avec son prix!
