Review Summary

Café Rì Yuè is widely celebrated as a charming, cozy, and aesthetic destination in Montreal, particularly appreciated for its creative Asian-inspired menu and high-quality artisanal pastries. Many patrons frequently praise the fresh, light, and perfectly sweetened cakes, such as the strawberry matcha chiffon, as well as the unique, generous macarons and savory focaccia. While the staff is often described as warm, friendly, and accommodating, the small size of the venue frequently leads to crowding and limited seating, which can make the atmosphere loud during peak hours. Although the majority of visitors have excellent experiences, some have noted that the price point is on the higher side and that service policies regarding restrooms or seating can occasionally feel restrictive. Overall, it remains a favorite for those seeking a unique coffee break in a visually appealing environment.

This café truly knows what quality means. The matcha was excellent-you can immediately tell it's made with high-quality ingredients. The White Chocolate Matcha was absolutely delicious.

The real highlight, though, was the cheesecake. It was the best cheesecake I've ever had in Canada! Creamy, perfectly balanced, & incredibly flavorful.

The tiramisu was outstanding as well. You can really taste the quality & attention to detail in everything they serve. I'll definitely be coming back & highly recommend this café!

The cafe is beautifully decorated! I really like the pastel pink, cottage-core vibe that they're going for. My family & I didn't have to wait long in line & we were given a pager that would go off when our orders were ready. I ordered the matcha latte with lavender & it was absolutely delicious! The whipped topping was very sweet & creamy, & the drink overall was super refreshing.

Korean-style cafe with fun drinks & desserts.

Even in a rainstorm close to closing, the place was packed with a line inside. We didn't feel like waiting out in the rain, so we came back the next day right at opening.

They had about 9 signature drinks, & all of them looked familiar. Slight variations on the stuff I saw at trendy cafes in Seoul. For dessert there are'fat' macarons, cakes, & some savory focaccia options (only after 1:30p). We grabbed a couple of macarons along with a pineapple americano & a matcha lavender einspänner.

The drinks here were some of the best specialty drinks I've had in North America. I got especially hooked on the Americano à l'ananas. Fruit juice americanos have been one of my favorite trends this year, & this was on par with the best versions I've had in Seoul. High-quality pineapple juice, & the ratio hit that fine line between sweet & bitter.

The macarons were amazing too. Instead of the usual thin layer of ganache or fruit jam, they were packed with a thick slab of buttercream (the ??? style that blew up in Korea a few years back). Not the super sweet version either, just a subtle sweetness.
